Admittedly we initially selected Site Hawk because of the neat name and positive reviews. However, the name of Jared's business absolutely reflects the fantastic job he did with our inspection! In terms of customer service, Jared was easy to engage with, and quick to respond, as we coordinated our inspection just a few days before the conclusion of our option period. Jared arrived early to conduct the inspection. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly thorough in his assessment of the home. At the conclusion of his inspection, he spent time walking me through each of is findings, and allowed me to ask any follow up questions before sending over the final report outlining his findings the same day. We're very glad we used Jared for our home inspection. Particularly because he had one finding that I'm not sure other home inspectors would have caught: He noted that two large heritage trees in the front yard of the home were looking not looking so hot, with leaves missing off of many limbs at the top. This is not something we noticed ourselves, and in fact, the trees were featured as a "perk" of this property. Jared recommended we contact an arborist to have them looked at, and I'm glad we followed his advice. The trees were confirmed by multiple arborists and the city of Austin to be in decline, and because they are so large, cost to remove them was estimated at $3,000/tree. I don't trust contractors. Even the nice ones. They are right up there with seedy used car salesmen and debt collecting scum of the earth for me. So in the process of building my (first!!) new home, I'm about as nervous and finicky as it gets. Yelp lead me to several Inspectors, but Site Hawk were the only folks who were prompt in their communication and could see me in the last minute timeframe I had to work with. They are willing to communicate via text and paying them via Paypal was EASY!! The Inspector was on time and the report was SUPER thorough with pictures and charts and descriptions that even someone like me (who is totally ignorant about construction) could easily understand. We had a physical copy and an emailed copy and it made communication with my builder EASY. Thankfully Site Hawk found several mistakes and a MAJOR structural issue in our garage that my builder and the city inspector were about to pass without batting an eye. Scary! Now my builder has fixed everything that was done incorrectly and I even got a decent credit back for the upgrades and structures that were not done properly the first time. Fabulous! I even had a small snafu where a family member forgot to send them a check and I did not find out until a week later when I was checking my accounts. Not once did Site Hawk harass me about that and they were totally patient. MUCH appreciated, there! I will absolutely be calling these guys back to do my final inspection before close and recommending them to my own clients in my small business. read more

Complete waste of money. We used Site Hawk for a home under contract. Within the first few days of moving in we were hit with a tornado of costs and repairs that were never identified in our inspection. Leaking showers not identified, water pressure reading wrong, emergency water shut off inoperable, and a toilet that shoots water when flushed were all missed!!! That plus further visible roof damage that was never found. Roofers now say we need a new roof. The report also had a significant lack of photos than we were expecting. Had I known some of these issues we may have walked away from this house. read more

We had a potential house inspected by Jared. He definitely had no problem calling out issues as they were discovered and was very thorough finding a few issues that I never would have known until a bunch of water damage would have already occurred. He took care in explaining issues and confidently answered any sorts of questions related to the state of the house. His review process is very neat and clean and was e-mailed to us soon after the inspection. Additional: After a few rounds of trying to get loose ends tied up (repaired) some contractors seemed incapable (quote "it's not possible"). Jared explained to them what the matter was, and even sent them a youtube video of the kind of repair required. Due to timeline constraints there was no time left for any more contractor work and so resulted in a small additional credit from the seller. I recently purchased a new house in Austin and wanted to have inspection before moving in to make sure everything is good to go before closing. Site Hawk had some really good reviews on Yelp and so I contacted Jared to do the inspection. He was very responsive and immediately gave his availability for the next day. He did his inspection in the morning and met me after the inspection. He went through all the faults/ concerns in the built and walked me through each thing in a very detailed manner. He is very professional in his approach and gave me good tips about improving and maintaining not just the cosmetics but the overall structure of the house. He gave a detailed report to me, including all pictures, of all the issues he found in the house, by evening, the same day, which I though was super-impressive. We did our due diligence still and looked up his reviews (all great as you can see), and then I asked him a long list of questions over the phone which he graciously and patiently answered. (When we bought our first house in VA we had a nightmare of a home inspection that cost us thousands of dollars in missed issues so we were VERY particular about who we would use here in Austin.) The first time I called Jared I expected to get voice mail as it was after normal business hours. He actually still answered my call and then spent approximately 20 minutes on the phone with me answering all of my questions. The 2nd time I called to schedule the inspection I did get voice mail but he called back a few minutes later and let me know he just had to find a place to pull over as he was out driving. Very impressive customer service! He was easy to schedule an inspection with, he was already there when we got to the property and we arrived 5 minutes early, he agreed to allow my husband and I to watch the inspection from start to finish, he performed a very thorough inspection and noticed many things we wouldn't have thought to look for, he took his shoes off for the inspection of the interior and had shoe covers/booties in case we wanted them. At the end he summarized the issues he found, showed us the pictures he'd taken that he would include in the report, and we really couldn't be more happy with him. I don't think I would want to service a customer like myself (distrusting, bitter about a previous experience, etc) and Jared handled it like a champ and never made me feel like a hassle.
