I don't think I have seen many reviews with such a wide spread of opinions as the ones I read for Longhorn Steakhouse. Several friends and I meet every Monday for lunch. We have gone to Longhorn several times. As I read these reviews and thought about my own experiences, the reviews made perfect sense. Sometimes the food and the service are very good. Sometimes one is better than the other. And, sometimes I wish I had gone somewhere else. Which brings me to the conclusion that consistency is the real issue. They always seem to have new wait staff and some are better than others. I don't know about the kitchen staff, but they may well be changing out frequently too. This makes it difficult to recommend going here. I feel like Dirty Harry saying "Do you feel lucky, punk?" That having been said, I would like to take a moment to address customer behavior toward the wait staff. Last Monday some friends of mine and I had lunch at Longhorn. Once again our waitress was new. This was her first day to wait tables on her own. She was nervous but did pretty well. Granted she got a couple of our orders mixed up but when serving a table of 15 on your first day, the best of us are bound to make a mistake. We took it stride and made light of it wih her. At a nearby table there were three younger guys, who for the most part were engaged in their own conversation at a normal inside volume. But, when this girl came to their table, their volume went up a few notches as they berated her and were very rude. When she brought their checks, one of them raised his volume to so as to he heard by several tables, that he would tip her what she was worth, "nothing". Needless to say she was hurt and visibly shaken. When she brought us our checks, the manager was with her. He explained this was fer first day etc etc etc. To a man we all spoke up for her and said she did a fine job. We also tipped her very well, to make up for the idiot's actions. My personal take away is very simple. If you feel like you need to go into public and very loudly berate and insult a server who is just trying to make ends meet, you need to make some changes in your life. You don't impress anyone. You should just stay home and order a pizza. I'll shut up now. read more

Entire restaurant could use improvement. Restaurant was not crowded but not a full house. Once arriving, I overheard a waiter (Scott) saying "Do not sit them with me" to the host. Everyone food order was incorrect. When leaving, my mother asked Scott for a to-go bag and was ignored. I wouldn't recommend not going but definitely not during the evening shift. I tried them again during my latest visit to Aiken and boy was I disappointed. We ordered takeout - My advice- DONT!! You get cheated out of items as they put very small amounts of food in the containers. If you order a loaded baked potato, they will put the sour cream cheese and bacon, in a very small plastic container- the sour cream will melt and it's not even enough toppings to fit a corner of your potato. The steaks that were ordered were a porterhouse and ribeyes all of which had no seasoning and were very tough -medium was the requested temperature. The spicy chicken bites that were ordered barely had any chicken bites in it, though the container was large. The only thing that tasted halfway decent were the wings and they were just a little bit overcooked. Very disappointed and I probably will not try it again. read more

In town for the night and came for dinner. They took my number and said the wait would be 20-25 minutes. Forty five minutes later we were finally seated. We ordered the Texas onion appetizer and it was just okay. We ordered unsweet tea and the waiter brought us sweet tea. For dinner I had the grilled shrimp and a baked potato. The shrimp was served over rice with garlic butter for dipping, it tasted okay but the baked potato was great . My husband got the 9oz fillet with a baked potato and he liked it. Service was okay. The food presentation was sloppy like it was just thrown on the plate. The place looked clean, the staff was friendly and apologetic for the wait. read more

Last time we go to this location. The food was poor quality and the restaurant had an awful smell. This location has really gone downhill.

We were a birthday group of 12 adults. We were allowed a reservation at 6pm. We were all seated at 6:05. Setup & menu were at table. After about 5 mins. the server distributed bread plates. After another 5 mins. the drink order was taken. Another 10-15 mins. passed & the server was asking who had what, came up short on 5 drinks including water. Straws were asked for and another length of time passed. We are now at about 6:40. I opted to go to the server, alone at a server area removed from my table. I indicated that the timing was slow & that continuing could affect the gratuity. His response was we were a large group & had been seated before they were ready. I told him that was the restaurants problem & our service should be more responded to. I chose not to go to the manager to give the server a chance to step up himself. It's now 6:45 and we hadn't got to the appetizer order, let alone our meal. 5 more minutes passed & the manager told me I shouldn't have used the tip to "threaten" the server and contact him insted to tell him my concern. He then said he'd start taking our order. My wife's reaction to his indicating that I took the wrong approach to the issue & said she wanted to leave. He made no attempt to diffuse the situation. We said goodbye to the other guests & left. We found out later they opted to leave even as the mgr. was taking the order. My overall opinion is the manager misread the situation and should be counseled. I plan to contact Texas Longhorn at their Darden Hq. in Orlano. read more

I called before opening to confirm we would be a party of 15 to 20 people for lunch at 1:00 . I was told tables would be reserved for us . I checked in when we arrived and a few minutes later when our party was there I notified the host. We were kept waiting an hour for the table . I understand that sometimes people stay longer than You're Expecting . So if you have a party waiting an hour past their seating time they should be offered some type of something. Maybe pass around some of that bread that's set out on the table . Our server was great. read more

Time to update. It's sad, really. The Southside of this town has turned into a bonafide s*!t show, and that is reflected in this update. Walked in; no one at the bar. Good? Bad? Sat down, or tried to...standing water on the floor under the bar, and a funky scent. I told the barmaid, who is aloof and distracted, and she mumbled something about the HVAC! Ummmmm yeah, the air conditioner isn't the problem here. Water on the floor under the bar. At least I think it's water. My wife had already ordered a glass of wine, and a Tito's for me. The aloof barmaid sat them down while having a conversation with someone in the kitchen who looks like a meth head. No engagement with her customers. The place stinks of dirty dish rags, and everyone coming out of the kitchen had neck tattoos and green or blue hair. I did not leave a tip on the bill of $20.87 for a Tito's and a glass of crappy wine. It was about 5:40PM on a Friday. I don't recommend this place anymore! Aiken has gone to hell. read more

Staying in the area for the night I decided to stop off at this restaurant for dinner. I was immediately seated and Anthony was my server. He was friendly and took my order without delay. And I were traveling our business and decided to stop into the longhorn steakhouse in Aiken, South Carolina. When we entered, there were lots of empty tables, but we were told we had to wait a few minutes. I'm really not sure why, but after a few minutes, they came and got us and took us to our table. Our white person came out fairly quickly. And we ordered our drinks. After that things went downhill rather quickly. Took quite a while to get the drinks. Once we ordered our food, we waited for the salads to be brought to the table after a while. I flagged down our weight person because we hadn't received our salads . She told me they would be right out because they were making them. The salads finally arrived, and the only thing I can figure out is they must be short staffed in the kitchen because we were able to finish our salads before the food even got there . The food arrived, and my filet mignon was not too bad . it wasn't a real filet mignon because it was just the end cap at the very end of the fillet. My wife got a salmon dish . I don't really remember the name of it, but they marinate it in something and then serve it over rice. Her dish was extremely salty, and the salmon was not flaky. It was kind of mushy. We normally don't complain, but when the white person came up and asked how things were, I decided to let her know. Shortly after that, a manager came up and asked us what was wrong with the dish and we told him. He took the dish back to the kitchen and a couple minutes later our person came back out and said , they were not going to charge us for my wife's dish. I asked if the manager had tasted the dish and she said she didn't know but there really was never a problem with the salmon dish. So again, the service was barely adequate, and the food was not really that good. However, to their credit, they did stand behind their quality, and since we felt the dish was not correct we were not charged for it. As always, the test of a restaurant is, will I go back? In this case I will. When someone's willing to admit that there was probably something wrong and make it correct that's someone I'm happy to give another chance to. read more

When we entered there was a girl standing on the side by the hostess who looked like she was not in a good mood. Lucky us when we got seated she was our waitress. I tried going out of my way to be extra nice to her, but it seemed it did not help. She was short and very cold. We ordered drinks, appetizer and dinner. It took awhile for our drinks to get to the table. The salad came and a minute later the appetizer. We set our salad aside to eat the appetizer while it was warm, but a few minutes later our dinner came. When the waitress saw we were upset she replied Would you like to talk to the manager? My husband replied NO, but it would be nice if you knew the order in which food should be brought to the table. Visited SC from NY two weeks ago and tried this place. Ambience was very nice. Food was pretty bad. Very greasy. Everything in this place is cooked in grease. And they call the frozen taquitos (pictured) wraps. These are not wraps lol! I thought I was getting an actual chicken wrap. And out comes those 7-11 style greasy taquitos. Awful. Couldn't even eat them. Steak was edible. Mashed potatoes very good. French fries good, seasoned wings so undercooked after I asked for well done. Sent them back and they came out a little more cooked. Flavor was ok but I couldn't eat them because they weren't cooked enough and also very greasy. Not pictured was my baked potato which I devoured. Best thing they served me. It had a salted skin which was so good. I ate skin and all and filled up on that. We left all the meat and chicken. Ate only the fries, mashed and baked potato. Even the bread was awful. Will absolutely not be returning. Bartender was super nice and made my drink the way I asked. It was a really good drink. Waiter was nice as well. Didn't get names but wanted to point out that the staff was very nice. It had been awhile ( pre-pandemic)since I ate here & the last experience was quite unfavorable. With that said my hopes weren't high. I must start with I love the atmosphere of Longhorns. The lighting is perfect & the horse and cowboy theme makes me breathe deep as I love them both. We were met by a hostess who probably wanted to be anywhere but there but quickly had a friendly encounter with Stephan our server. When I dine again here I absolutely will request Stephan. Serving is definitely his forte. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms- they were very good. I drank raspberry tea and enjoyed it but the flavor could have been stronger. My entree was the ribeye ordered very rare. It came expectably cooked & well seasoned. My baked potato suffered from a lack of cheese, bacon and green onions but the huge salad made up for it. Stephan commented that the salad was (over)huge but I'd rather have too much versus not enough. The in house blue cheese dressing was excellent. My dining companion had the crispy brussel sprouts and said they were fantastic. If I had to critique one thing it'd be the need for some cleaning. The service was very poor. The server never came by to refill tea, offer water or check on the meal which was overcooked. Had dinner with friends tonight at Longhorns. Sat at the bar while waiting for my friends to arrive and ordered a Cosmo. It wasn't horrible, but missing something in the mixture. Couldn't determine what it was. After a pretty good steak dinner, which is their strong point, I ordered a chocolate martini for dessert. I've ordered chocolate martinis at many restaurants across the country. My Cosmo should have been enough warning, but I was served the worst chocolate martini ever. I really believe they put a regular martini in a glass with chocolate syrup squirted in the glass. It was awful. Usually they look a little milky and taste similar to chocolate milk. This one was almost clear and tasted a lot like a vodka martini. Never going to order another one there. The bartender, while very polite and also doing triple duty as a waiter and and take out order person, needs a bartender's guide in making drinks! She has sincerity to our customer satisfaction, she had knowledge of her craft, a great sense of humor and really checked all the boxes for attending to her customers and manking them feel happy to be there. Ive ordered from here before and the food is sub par for takeout. I don't know about eating in -but I'm not interested. Steak ordered was burned. For a steakhouse- the worst and toughest burger. No flavor. They should know better than to put the fries in the same container as the burger bc it makes them soggy. Had to cook them when I got home. Bacon on the burger tasted very piggy as in not fresh. Burger looked like it was just thrown together. Asked for medium well and it was well done. Whenever we come to Longhorn, the restaurant appears clean, tables cleared, service with a smile and good food. There's nothing to not like about this Longhorns. I have dietary needs and every time I ask for them, they always deliver. The servers always check back at the table several times. Kudos to a restaurant that does a great job. read more

2ns trip to this location both terrible experiences. Food was great but both times seating was a disaster. This most recent time they said they couldn't seat our party of 8 together because of Covid restrictions but then sat tables all around us less than 4' away. We attempted to talk to the manager on duty (who by the way helped us the last time they attempted to sit us & another family together) (btw... we were not together) they were very apologetic & asked us to come back give it another try.
