This place was great all around, so I'll go ahead and get the negatives out of the way first... Well, really the only negative. Tidiness in the bar area could use a once-over. The floor wasn't really swept that well, and I could notice debris next to the beer taps, like that station could have been wiped down a little bit better. I sat at the bar naturally, my server was some young, blonde haired gal. I'll tell you, she was on it. She was excellent! I sat down, she immediately gave me my napkin with silverware and menu, and took my drink order, which was a double Woodford reserve on a rock. Asked me if I needed a little bit more time to order which I did, a few minutes later after making my selection, she put my food in. I ordered the outlaw ribeye, rare, with a side salad and asparagus. The salad, ehhh, I mean it's a salad. The asparagus was pretty good. But my steak? Oh BOY HOWDY! I am a fan of longhorn steakhouse, haven't been to one in probably the better of a year, But this was a reminder of why I keep frequenting these across the country. I ordered my steak rare, per the norm. Not only was it absolutely PERFECT, It was teaming with flavor. I cook a lot of barbecue, smoke a lot of meats, make a lot of steaks, and it was almost as good as mine. I ate the entire thing, and I wish I was close to home so I could take the bone home to nibble on hahaha!!! In an absolute rarity, everything came to under $60. It pays not to drink yourself stupid sitting at a bar I suppose! Sorry Outback, I cheated on you today. I might pop in and see you guys again next time I'm here, but then again, I might very well go back across the street to Longhorns! This was your basic longhorn experience with bells and whistles. It is so rare to find a longhorn that's actually good. This was once my go to for Sunday dinner and maybe a Thursday night out. Over the years, the service in the food quality deteriorated. This evening was such a wonderful departure. I came in early and was seated and greeted. My server came by and got my drink order quickly. She then came back to see what I wanted, and I had some questions about the menu. She answered all of these satisfactorily. Her name was Kylee. She's young, smart, beautiful, and a professional. She really knows what she's doing. I ordered the bowl of French onion soup, the chopped steak with mushrooms, gravy, and onions, the crispy, brussels sprouts and an iced tea. All came out satisfactory and on time. The soup was outstanding. It was like somebody actually cooked it in the back and then floated the bread and then put cheese on top and toasted it. It was a really good French onion soup . The chop steak was a nod to economy. It was a wonderful hamburger steak, with a wonderful gravy, mushroom and onion topping. Since that is part of the hamburger steak, it's not extra. I would've paid for these toppings on my hamburger steak. The crispy brussels sprouts were amazing, and came in a sweet honey sort of glaze. Which I used on my steak for a couple of bites. They're missing out but not putting the honey maple type glaze as an option for the steaks. That's just an opinion. When I got ready to go, Kylee asked me if I could have a tea to go. I accepted her offer. She then brought me out two glasses one with ice, and one with tea she said that would keep it from getting watered down. What a thoughtful young lady. While I was there, the manager came around and checked on me and wanted to know how they were doing. I told him they were doing great. It's like somehow this longhorn is the one that you see in the commercials where people are enjoying themselves, not the one that you always run into when you're traveling for the staff doesn't give a crap. I've eaten at several LongHorn steak houses a crossed the country. They are all usually a very good experience including this one in Commerce, GA. Seven of us went there tonight and all had carry tasty meals. We were seated promptly and had very attentive and friendly waitress with plenty of southern hospitality. Steaks were good and cooked pretty much to various ways folks ordered them in our group. Salads were fresh with a nice offering of dressings. Their raspberry vinaigrette was very tasty that I had in my salad. Like everywhere prices have gone up and the bill came to $221 with beverages for seven of us. ( note: we all had non alcoholic drinks). I was a bit surprised they didn't have malt vinegar for their French fries , but that's no big deal. Overall I'd give them a solid 4 out of five stars and would recommend them to others looking for a good steak, for a reasonable price served with a smile. This LongHorn is a two minute walk from my hotel and I was in the mood for steak tonight. First, I started with French Onion soup, which I haven't had in years. The taste was OK but the soup was tepid at best. Many a French Onion soup I've had in the past was piping hot. This was not. I also ordered the T-bone steak medium rare. And it was cooked to perfection! It tasted delicious!! My side was steamed broccoli, which I ordered just to be "healthy." LOL!! Jamie A. was our waitress and she did a good job. No hard sell or recommendations, she took our drink order, delivered, we ordered and were served quickly. Walked here from my hotel. I was starving and wanted steak. I sat at the bar. Waitress was very polite and took my order right away. I was impressed on how fast and efficient she was. I ended up ordering a tall glass of beer and 2 shots of patron before my meal. I then ordered a NY strip, medium rare. This is the first time I had my steak actually medium rare. In my multiple visit to this location it didn't take long for the staff to recognize and remember me. The service has always been impeccable. My favorite meal is the Filet followed by the Ribeye!! We attended Longhorns today for a celebration of a true accomplishment. We've not been out in a very long time because we were focused on our goals of becoming debt free. We made it and wanted to celebrate. Based on previous experience we went to Longhorns. Bad decision! Service was good even though we got someone else's bill. Go figure. The steak was tough and not seasoned very well. The Wild West shrimp was extremely well done (not good) but at least the baked potato was good. Tea was acceptable. I don't know what happened. What you would expect from a chain restaurant in a shopping/tourist area. Service was great almost a little fast but drinks never emptied and she checked on us several times. Outback ribeye and sirloin with shrimp were both cooked perfect. Shrimp had flavor and weren't dry. I'm gluten free and was able to eat and not be picky. Ok. Let's settle the question now. We experienced great food and great service! Traveling thru, steps away from our hotel, we read the reviews and were a bit hesitant. I'm writing to tell you now that most people who have enjoyed their meals here most likely do not do leave a review - Yes, I'm guilty as well - but this skews a restaurant's rating immensely. But it was convenient and we were hungry. We walked in, were quickly met with a smile, and escorted to our booth. Darby, our extremely polite and professional server, quickly came to our table to take our order. Our wait was minuscule and my hubby and I soon enjoyed our cocktails, bread and salads. Then came dinner... he the Filet (medium rare), me the Parmesan Encrusted Chicken. Both dishes were on point! Cook on the steak was perfect and my chicken was tasty and juicy - not an easy task! Throughout the meal the service was great. The chef came to table to be sure everything was good. It was! This is the best of the chain BBQ. In Commerce of 85, there are several BBQ choices and this is hands down the best. It can be busy, so avoid peak times on weekend. The food is great and the kitchen makes it very quickly despite having a lot of orders in. Our server Brent was one of the best examples of a great server that I've seen.
