Came from out of town looking for a quick bite to eat and this is one of the best quikstops for food I've ever made. Service was nice (not to overwhelming but not to shy). The food was delicious! We swung in around 3:30pm on a Thursday so customer traffic really low . It has the bar and grill aesthetics while still being lit by the day sun. My wife and I wanted to try something new around the Gainesville area and we had not been to Locos yet because they are in what we consider the "forgotten" side of Gainesville The location is very spacious with plenty fo seating areas. I've heard it van get loud but we were there for lunch with no one playing at the corner stage so we had no issues carrying a conversation. Our waitress was extremely nice and timely with everything, could not have asked for a better waitress. The food actually took us by surprise... way better than we expected!! My wife had the CALIFORNIA CLUB (smoked turkey, bacon, ranch, spinach, tomatoes and fresh avocados) and I had their CHIPOTLE RANCH WRAP (fried chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato and Chipotle ranch on a tortilla wrap) and both were very fresh and tasty!!! My wrap was very flavorful and paired up very well with the tator tots. My wife's French fries were well fried as well. The side of Mc&cheese was because we needed to see if they had OK mc&cheese and it was OK, goof texture with a good creaminess to it, just needs more flavor. I probably wouldn't have gone if I didn't get a coupon in the mail, but as it turns out it was serendipitous that I did. Locos Pub and Grill is a dive nestled in the Food Lion strip mall on Enota, it's a much larger place than I was expecting. I enjoyed the tchotchky all over the wall, the wait staff was prompt and pleasant. I got the black and blue burger with bacon (because bacon is life) and my girlfriend got the turkey rueben, and absolutely none of it was terrible! Seriously I can't tell you that my hopes were tremendously high for this place. I felt like it was trying too hard to not try at all, but for a full meal and a beer for around $20, it wasn't too bad. Twenty years ago this place was still fun, but the fun slap wore off of it. It's a bit tougher around the edges. Had a little too much beer spilled, one too many holed punched in the wall. Still got a fair to middling club sandwich but otherwise it's fallen off. The burgers are so greasy they are almost inedible. Last one I had I had to sit down no more than half way done because the grease was just a oozing out everywhere. Salads never have been any good. It's turned into a beer bar where people crowd around the table or congregate outside the front doors smoking. They have live music with loud bands. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've been to Locos and I've always been impressed. The restaurant is clean and the staff is great. Most recently I ordered the Bayou Burger and Cajun fries. Both were very good and the service was incredibly fast, despite being moderately busy. My only complaint is the appetizer we ordered, the fried pickles. We got the fried pickles to start and they were pretty good. Though it is hard to screw up a fried pickle. I got the black & bleu burger with fries and he got the "garden" sandwich with fries. I bit into my burger and it tasted like nothing. How is that even possible? Even with blackening seasoning, blue cheese, & fried onions? I was hugely disappointed. The fries weren't much better. The minute they got cold, they were also bland. The service was friendly and quick enough. I just hated the fact that I was eyeing the boy's sandwich with lust in my heart when I had a burger right in front of me. I eat here regularly. The waitstaff is very kind and accommodating. The service is usually prompt, but trivia night does slow things down, as one would expect. The food is consistently good. We even have a favorite server. My only bad experience came one night when they were doing a "sound check" for a gig the next night. It was unbearably loud, and it was over an hour long. It was impossible to have a conversation in the restaurant or enjoy your meal. The waitress literally had to shout. We asked them several times to reduce the volume and they would not. As a musician, I understand the necessity for a sound check; I've done plenty. I also understand that it doesn't take an hour, nor should it be painful. read more

Gaines Vegas typical hangout. Love the smoking area on the sidewalk in front of the entrance door(s). One side is for a hippie band, bar, one pool table & restrooms. The other side is for dinning that is a little tight. Friday and/or Saturday night bands play. So forget that side of the restaurant unless you're single and want to be picked up. Food: We get delivery from time to time if we have drunk and do not want to drive. I love the Reuben but with one side it's $10. Hey, I know Arby's has a Reuben (not as good) but its $3.50. Other dishes tried are salads, good. But the burgers will cost you. Had take out one night and ordered a $11 burger with fries. My kid's meal burger with fries was the same look, taste and size for only $4.50. This issue here is the cost per entrée. There were quite a few people but the waitress was still very attentive to me even though I was alone. Another good service spot for me... The food was tasty and the deep fried items were deep fried! It was yummy but the portion was large so I tried to keep from eating all of the deep fried items to save a few years of the backside of my life! This restaurant is a complete and utter disaster. The employees run around looking like they're either drunk or on something. Our server was even slurring her words when she spoke to us. I don't remember her name but she was thin and had long dark hair. Literally no management in sight after we asked for one due to our concerns of our server's sobriety. Customers were going in and out of the kitchen with alcohol probably to give to the kitchen staff. We witnessed the bartender taking shots with someone from the kitchen and other customers too. They want to be "kid friendly" by giving kids a coloring sheet and crayons, but then the music is so loud and inappropriate as well as the people at the bar spewing profanity left and right and being loud and obnoxious. This place is a bar, not a restaurant. Don't bring your kids here. Not to mention it's filthy. Tables are gross, sticky and not wiped clean. There's no host so you seat yourself, and we sat at what we thought was a clean table. All of them looked terrible. No coasters were provided for our drinks so we went to use napkins but the dispenser was empty. Another server finally brought us some napkins after our server disappeared while we were waiting to order and we called her over to ask for some. We had to wait ten minutes after our food was finally delivered to our table to even get silverware and again, that was brought by another server because ours was missing again. Our food was just okay. The fries were cold and the wings were undercooked. I didn't send anything back because who knows how long it would be before it came back out. There is food and debris all over the floors. I can't even imagine what the kitchen looks like. It appears that whoever owns this place doesn't care about the way it's ran because they are taking a big risk by allowing these kinds of things and should be embarrassed or at least be present to manage because there was literally no management on site and the employees are out of control. I'm usually not very picky about restaurants or service but our experience here was absolutely dreadful. We will not be returning. read more

I've eaten here about every two weeks for quite some time. The food is always really good. We had one bad experience where our food came out on the cold side and our baked potatoes were definitely yesterday's baked potato. Everything on the menu is really tasty, portions are adequate and prices are great. My only complaint is the "employee table" where employees congregate. I come with my family and we sit on the quieter side and I feel like a lot of times I'm having to shuffle around employees coming and going from that table. And I definitely don't want to sit and eat my meal while my (currently serving me) waiter or waitress is eating theirs at the table next to me. Please do something about this. read more
