We didn't wait too long to be seated, and the server was quickly at our table to take our drink orders. We each requested water and before we could get the other drink orders out he was already rushing off. For food we all ordered a variety of hibachi dishes. The salmon was requested to not be well done and it came out overcooked, the steak was well done and medium was requested. The food was ok. I have been to this restraunt many times. The last three time, the service has declined. The waiter tried to justify his mistakes, showing his PDA to prove I was wrong, not him. He was agumentative with me and his manager. He did not refill drinks at the table until TOLD to by his manager. The food is good. The sushi bar is always behind, sending out sushi after the food has started to be served, not cooked, served. The atmosphere is nice. They have upgraded the seats. The chef was beyond boring. He only spoke to verify everyones order. NO customer interaction. In an effort to save my business, the manager gave me a 20% discount on my meal, and a $5.00 off my next $30 purchase. Came in here because work put me in a hotel near by. I walked here and sat at the bar. Food did came out fairly quickly. I had a big bottle of Sapporo and tall hot sake. The hibachi experience here has declined compared to past years. You go in paying for a show and they only do the big fire. No egg juggle, fried rice heart, or onion volcano. They dont banter or even talk to the table, just like an open kitchen rather than a hibachi. The salad is way over dressed and the steamed rice is dry, their only redeeming quality is the portion size and kind wait staff. We use to love this place! Haven't been in a while & the hibachi grill food was not good. The rice tasted burnt. My food didn't fill up my plate for $16 I was excepting leftovers. The soup is my favorite but all it taste like was garlic...still have the taste in my mouth & only ate a spoonful. Eating out isn't worth it anymore. read more

Outlet last minute Christmas shopping!! On the way up 85n saw a billboard for Koji. I'm a lover of Hibachi and thought after shopping I must have some of this Koji hibachi (hehehee) :) Best prices for lunch $9.99 for shrimp hibachi including veggies and extra for fried rice. Just before the hibachi chef comes to set fire to the grill, they serve a miso or house soup/salad. Hibachi is full of oils/butter/sodium soy sauce, but before the chef starts to add all of that I tell him to Go light... Koji is a very nice japanese steakhouse, with sushi and everything else a japanese steakhouse offers. (Sake anyone?) There wasn't many people here, but plenty help was there to service and refill your drink. I came for a full belly and got just that. Unfriendly service. Waitress was condescending. Waitress forgot to put in one of main entree orders. Our children's food came and we had to wait an additional 20 minutes. In the meantime we were being rushed , a random male was asking if we needed boxes yet we were still waiting to be served our main entree. $ 185 down the drain, never again. Wonderful! Decided to stop on our way to Lake Hartwell and wanted a change of pace (saw the signs on the interstate also so it works) so we looked it up on Yelp! Reviews were good and we stopped. VERY PLEASED! we had the special steak/chicken 2 for $33. We got soup and salad and a hibachi dinner for two with all the great sauces! Our waitress Amber was excellent Ns very attentive! My twenty minute to go order took over an hour. The manager was very rude when I would ask for an update. I literally ordered a chicken fried rice to go. How long can it take? I've been going here for a couple of years and it is definitely not the same as it was in the beginning. Smaller portions, stopped getting the shrimp appetizer during hibachi even though it's still listed on the menu, the salad is just iceberg lettuce that they clearly cut from a full head because you have to almost cut it some more when you get it. Ranch tastes sour. The place isn't very clean either and it's always very humid feeling. For the price we most recently paid, it's definitely not worth it! read more

It's too expensive for what you get. Over $120+, plus a tip, we really felt it wasn't worth it for 3 adults. We had the hibachi, and the steak was extremely thin. The chicken was split amongst all, so maybe because we were served last, it didn't seem adequate. Funny, I've been here a few times. Meat was better and vegetables plentiful on our previous visits. As a restaurant owner myself, this place was top notch. Would give ZERO STARS if I could. Rude service from the moment we sat down. Every time the waiter talked to us he spoke to us rudely. Stopped in for supper. Family of four. Sat in dining room. Waiter asked when we ordered if we wanted fried or white rice. We all ordered fried rice. Two ask for no veggies. Got our ticket and each plate had with the order fried rice. Then a separate charge for 8.00 for fried rice. Asked waiter and was rudely told it was on the menu if you get fried rice it was more. Asked had I never ate their before? I said yes. He said you must not remember. Walked really fast to snatch the menu and point it out the top. Then said "you must not read". Continued to kept telling me about it on the menu as we all was silent. No one was arguing and it wasn't asked in a confrontational manner. Finally walked away. We had gotten boxes to take our leftover and was boxing it up to leave. He stood there waiting on us to leave. I've worked restaurant before and we run businesses our self and have never seen such rudeness in a restaurant. I felt if he asked white or fried rice it was an option not an up charge.
