Dined today at Longhorn in Gainesville, Ga. Our server SAM (female) was SO GREAT. Very pleasant, professional, knowledgeable about the entire menu. Gave us a flawless execution to our fabulous meal. She made our dining experience very enjoyable. Had the special lamb chops. Was FAB. Sides of mashed potatoes and wilted spinach finished off the great meal. Food is always fresh. Wow Darden I have been to 3 different longhorns in the past month . I visited 2 local eateries and one in Alabama because my wife absolutely loves longhorn. However my luck has run its course with your brand. Every time I have been in one of your locations I have not had those experiences that my wife raves about. Two different occasions I didn't even get a greet promising never to return. Tonight I went to Dawsonville where I encountered a bartender that really didn't seem interested in me drinking a beer and placing a togo order. I will never step foot in longhorn again . Theres way too much competition for you guys to treat guests that way,but I guess your size gives you the confidence that one little order will not matter. Food is ALWAYS amazing here! We drive from Buford and pass 2 locations to come here to the Gainesville location! Although we always sit at the bar with the BEST bartender Tyler, the other staff members are wonderful as well! While this is a chain, I have never been disappointed. Not fine dining but always quality and consistent. The steaks here have always been come out perfect and the chef here does a fine job and is one of the best I have ever had as far as getting things right every time. It is my choice of steak when staying local and reasonably priced. Salmon is also very good. The special pecan salad is a favorite and worth the additional price. My son like his steak Pittsburg rare and they could not do it last time due to equipment issues but they did the best they could and apologized and all was again perfect. read more

We had a great experience at this location even though I was not 100% happy with my steak. Honey and I visited this location on a week night and were sat in Barbara's section. She took good care of us and quickly brought out our drinks and bread. I ordered the Ribeye-medium with salad and asparagus. Honey had a cheeseburger and fries and a salad. Salads came out quickly and with just the right amount of dressing. When the main course came out we dug right in! My steak though was just drowning in pepper. So much so that after about 4 bites I just couldn't eat it anymore. There was pepper all over my asparagus too. Don't get me wrong, I like a little pepper but this was just overwhelming! So I said something to Barbara about it when I asked for a to go box. My intent was to take it home and rinse it off and then eat it. She insisted that she could bring me a new steak but honestly the steak was cooked perfectly and I knew they would just throw it away. I knew I could fix it! So here comes Barbara with my to go box and a new package of asparagus and the garlic butter for me to take and warm up as well! Then she brings our check. She said the manager insisted on taking my meal off the check because she too had had a steak earlier that evening that had too much seasoning! I was floored. I was not looking for a free meal but they went above and beyond in their customer service! We will definitely visit this location again knowing we will have excellent service and excellent food. Went to Longhorn in Gainesville for a Christmas visit with 2 of my family. We went to early dinner. Seated right away, Server was with us immediately for drinks. And was patient with us as we talked instead of ordering. Finally, we ordered 2 Flo's filets, one T-bone, and one burger. All cooked exactly as ordered. Even one of the filets was ordered well done, and she's particular; and it was perfect! The server was attentive with waters and if we needed anything. The food was delicious, as we expect from Longhorn. It started to get really busy as we left. But we never felt pushed. Gainesville Longhorn on Brown Bridge will see us again. I did a pick up order here recently and was charged $39.87 for my whole order. Two days later, I was charge $8 extra for no reason for my final receipt. It was a pick up, so I know I did not put a tip or something like that on top of my final total. The food was good but I would not eat here again. On Sunday afternoon, June 30, 2024, four 80+ year old ladies walked into this restaurant. We were greeted pleasantly and taken to a table. Moments later our server was at our table asking if we'd like water and or something from the bar. We were ready to order and she ensured that we included all that we desired. When our meals arrived, the aromas were enticing-- time to dig in! The flavors didn't disappoint and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Left Longhorns in Cornelia and headed to the one in Gainesville because of a ridiculously long wait and attitude by the hostess. We were seated right away and promptly greeted by our server, Crystal. My husband and I visited the Gainesville location to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. We wanted to have an early dinner so we arrived at 3:15 as the website said dinner menu began at 3:10. We had to wait a minute or two before being seated. We followed the hostess through a half empty dining room and were seated at a table right outside the bathroom corridor. We waited at least 10 minutes for a server to wait on us when we noticed the people who were seated after us in booths across from us had been waited on, and had received drinks and bread. We also watched as 3 employees were clearing a booth that had emptied before we were seated. None of these employees or server of the other tables acknowledged us. We were about to leave when my husband shouted at the employees if we were going to be waited on. One employee said he would get someone and a server came a few minutes later. He apologized for our wait and said this wasn't his section, our table had not been assigned to a server, and he was just helping out. We expressed why we were upset and that we didn't think that there were no valid excuses. We had to ask 3 times to speak to a manager before she came to our table. We explained the situation again and she said the sections had just been reassigned and servers didn't know we had been seated. (Couldn't they see us) She offered an appetizer but we were not trying to get free food. We just wanted them to know we were not happy with their service, almost walked out, and we were deciding what to say in the poor review. Our steaks were good and cooked to perfection but the baked potatoes had a lot of salt on the skins. Not sure if we will return. We went there because we had gift cards. We went there for our supper and I wish now, I'd have listened to my wife when she said, "Chik fi let", which was next door. We entered about 4 pm ish, they weren't busy but it took about 5 min for anyone to acknowledge us standing at the hostess station to be seated, so we took it upon ourselves to find a booth. Then, it was another 5 min or so for anyone to acknowledge us there, as well. Finally, a waitress came and apologized for our wait. Once we finally sorted it out and brought her up to speed on our annoyance, we began the dance to ordering. She explained that it was due to shift change. Supper was adequate and filling. But a request for another napkin/linen went all but forgotten, and when it finally came, she noted she knew she was forgetting something. Took a while to get the check and to get the Hell outta there, with the decision to not come back. We can already tell, Longhorn is going the way of Red Lobster........Soon to be remembered as we do Sambos restaurants......or Shoneys. We've been here a few times with acceptable service. The food is always on the better side of the typical chain restaurant fare and this trip was on par with previous visits. But the service this time was horrible!! We sat at the bar and after a couple of drinks ordered food. It took over 45 minutes to get a salad and baked potato.... Before the food came out we ordered another salad and baked potato to go for another family member. We finished eating and still no to- go order. Obviously the bartender forgot to place our orders but blamed it On the kitchen. The manager and bartender were far more defensive rather than helpful. The last two times I've been there, I ordered fillet with lobster, the steak was cooked to perfection but, it was badly over-seasoned, and the lobster just didn't taste fresh or sweet like lobster should taste, frozen tail.
