Busy night, I go in find myself a place at the bar, quickly attend to bread and my salad come within minutes. Steak and potato followed just as I finished my salad. Great steak! Here's the kickers I had a 1/2 plate left fold my napkin and place beside my plate... proceeded to the restroom. When I returned there was someone in my seat! They thought I left and threw my food away! I was upset at first but they make it better than right and I appreciate that. Tipped 30%+ and went home. Great staff clean environment good energy. On New Year's Eve we decided to try Longhorn Steakhouse again in Odessa Texas. I called ahead of time to see if we could get a reservation and the person on the other end, said they only do walk-ins no reservations. We figured the wait was going to be long, with it being 7 o'clock on New Year's Eve so we waited, ordered drinks from the bar, this time we did not sit in the bar area because we saw the same waitress working that area from last time. So we waited the 30-40 minutes for our table then we were seated we ordered more drinks and asked for Mushrooms as an appetizer, very disappointed when they say they are out. Instead, we just asked for our bread and salads to come out before our meal. Our waitress comes back takes our order and to our disappointment, two of us wanted chicken fried steaks and we are informed they were out. We asked our waitress to come back since we're having to order something different hoping our bread and salad come out during that time, no luck. She finally comes back for our orders and about a minute before our meals come out, our bread and salads are served! We tipped the bartender and we tipped our waitress very well, but is there no accountability at this restaurant for issues like these. We see the same servers and the restaurant having these same major issues. We gave LongHorn Steakhouse a second try because we love the food, but these issues are completely unacceptable. P.S. We find out later from our son that Longhorn Steakhouse has a waitlist you can join online. Which would have been great to know since we knew it was going to be a long wait. Not sure who trained the person answering the phone, but they must not have known about the waitlist or just didn't care about giving us the information. read more

4/7/23 This was our first visit to LHS. Despite the reviews, we decided to give it a try. We walked in on Good Friday @ 3 pm. We were in between the lunch and dinner crowds which were perfectly fine by me. SERVICE: Chelsey was our waitress and she was helpful and happy to provide us some recommendations. FOOD: A warm bread loaf with butter helped us calm our hunger. We ordered the Brisket con Queso with chips as an appetizer. We CLEARED that in no time. We went straight for the steak entrees. Good quality steak, we'll-cooked only needs to be lightly seasoned. Props to the cook as we ordered medium rare and medium and it is what we got. I can't even begin to tell you how often my steak is not properly cooked. I ate the cheaper fillet 6 oz for $12.99 and was pretty impressed as it wasn't tough at all. The waitress said it was a new cooked steak. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak. Big, Huge mistake, the batter fell off the entire steak as soon as she touched it. Took a bit and it was too tough to chew. Sent it back and instead ask for chicken fingers. She had ask for a refill of tea back when her chicken fry first came to the table. Ended up having to ask 2 more times for a refill I watched staff after staff walk by empty messy tables and not touch them. We finished what we could of the bad meal and 2 of the tables were still a mess. Never again will we eat here. read more

After a long day of traveling, we stopped here after leaving the Midland Odessa Airport. We ordered steak and shrimp. Now before I get to my review, let me tell you that we are people that really like salt..! The server was friendly, although it was kind of worrisome that at 5 o'clock in the evening, the place was pretty much empty. But like I said, we were hungry from a long day of traveling. When the food came out, both of our dishes felt like they had fallen in a vat of Salt! We mentioned to the server and she said she would tell the manager. She did not offer to replace our food. She came back a little bit later and asked how we were doing as we nibbled on our food, and mentioned that the manager was going to check out the kitchen. We did not eat the Salty french fries - but we did eat the steak and most of the shrimp because we were starving and did not want to have to wait for them to make us new food (even though it was never offered ) . At the end, the manager took TWO dollars off of our bill. Seriously? She Never came over to the table to check on us. She Never came over to apologize. Or to explain. Really BAD management skills. Traditional chain steak house. The service was very good when we first arrived as it got busier they became more inattentive but it can be understood. I liked the atmosphere. For food we ordered the chicken wings, flos fillet with baked potato, ribeye with mashed potatoes, and the strawberry salad along with some iced teas. The wings were absolutely delicious (we had to order some to go for later too) and along with the bread it was a great starter. The steaks were not cooked exactly as specified but for a chair restaurant it was adequate and they were VERY salty. We did still enjoy them and the waitress offered to have them remade. I declined but appreciated the offer and she mentioned next time I could ask for less seasoning. The salad was tasty but you could tell some of the berries were getting old. Overall, I would definitely give this place another few shots and recommend others do, just try asking for less seasoning. I also plan to try some of the other options. The menu had a lot of things aside from steak unlike some other similar restaurants like TX Roadhouse. I'd be curious to try those and will update my review when/if I get a chance to. read more

I'm shocked to see all the negative comments left for reviews. Not once have I had a bad experience here at Longhorn Steakhouse. With that being said, I had a great night eating here with 6 friends. We had drinks, several appetizers and some entries. Nothing was short of exceptional. I had the stuffed mushroom w/cheese appetizer which I highly recommend along with the Longhorn steak accompanied with French fries and mashed potatoes. Steak was cooked as I wanted and was seasoned just right. Fries were delicious as well. I did seem to find one flaw with the mashed potatoes. This is not a complaint but a mere suggestion. The portion size of mashed potato's is super small. It prob the size of a golf ball. I don't know if this was a hiccup or if that's just the portions they give. I do believe they can do better on portion size especially on a smaller common item. Other than that I was glad we decided to come here. We tried to go for our 20th anniversary, because the food is excellent. However, we sat down in the front where my husband's walker can manage to fit and we waited 15 minutes. The server ignored us and passed several times. This is the same server we had last time who was dismal. She has an attitude and doesn't listen to what we ask for. We were at the very first table to the left of the host station and walked out after 15 minutes. This was @7 pm Wednesday June 5, 2024. Dropped in to try the lunch specials with several colleagues. This is a new restaurant, open just a few months. Nicely appointed and pleasantly decorated, not a roadhouse atmosphere, however, the music was far too loud! We asked five times for it to be turned down. Our waitress was attentive, took our orders and kept us in drinks and bread. One of us ordered a chicken tortilla soup and salad, another a chicken sandwich with broccoli, and two of us ordered thee prime rib sandwich, one with broccoli, the other mashed potatoes. We waited awhile longer than we expected as we were early for lunch. Our food arrived hot, and was tasty. The tortilla soup was apparently very good as Vickie didn't say much, much like Senon with his prime rib sandwich (I concur) Alice enjoyed her chicken sandwich but commented her bun was a tad dry. The garlic buttered broccoli was very delicious. Our drinks were water, iced tea, and a Coke Zero. It's a nice place for a nice not in a hurry lunch, save for the music volume fit for a roadhouse atmosphere. We will give it another try! read more

They call it "heavy seasoning " - fancy word for over salted. Check the sodium, I guarantee it will make your knees buckle. The steaks were salty. The onion ring starter was like licking Tony's Cajun rub from your palm. The Brussels sprouts were dowsed in seasoning. There was a redeeming quality however - the mango margarita was freaking fantastic. Like out of this world good -- BUT WE WENT BACK FOR IT AND THERE WAS NO BARTENDER. so the waitress made it and it tasted like utter trash. Steaks are lacking flavor, at 1st I wasn't sure if this was deliberate and they expect you to add salt and pepper yourself but, then again.........who doesn't like a flavored steak. I ordered the 22oz Longhorn and when I got the steak, it didn't seem to be 22oz, although I didn't have a scale, I'm a huge steak eater and my cooked steaks come out better than this restaurant. We also ordered the mushroom appetizers, when we received it, the waiter said one of the mushrooms dropped on the floor, so we were short one, she didn't even have the courtesy to add another back and just expected us to pay full price of which we eventually did.smh read more

I wish I'd checked the reviews first. The food is EXTREMELY SALTY. The steak, the shrimp (which you couldn't taste through the seasoning), the asparagus, the fries (that actually burned my mouth they were so salty) - everything but the salads (and the Caesar salad WAS excellent, thus the two stars). My burger was more well-done than medium, and while the flavor was good, it was served completely dry - no mayo, ketchup, or sauce of any kind. We ate at Longhorn tonight and overall I was pretty disappointed. I ordered the ribeye medium rare. Half of it was medium rare but the other half was super rare dark red. Unfortunately, I had started eating on the side that was medium rare so I had already eaten half the steak prior to discovering the rareness of the other side and didn't feel I could send it back at that point. It was also heavily over seasoned. It was so salty and heavily peppered that you almost couldn't taste the meat itself. My ice tea also had chunks of paper floating in it when it was brought to me. I was also dining with my 6 month old. My dad was holding him and letting him look around while I ate and two different waitress stopped and put their hands on my son and got in his face. Neither were wearing masks either. It is absolutely inappropriate for a stranger to touch and put their face inches away from an infant's face especially in current times. Neither even acknowledged the adults at the table before doing so. It made me extremely uncomfortable and interrupted our meal. I probably will not be returning to longhorn in the future. read more

Just left longhorn steakhouse in Odessa Texas. We were seated by someone I hope was new. She just stood there watching us but speaking to someone on her ear piece for a long time. The manager came asked her to seat us and she was like a deer in headlights scrambling. She finally got ahold of the menus and literally hugged our napkin and silverware on her chest with a dirty shirt. We were seated and NO ONE came ever! We tried to wave someone down but jo one looked out way. After 20 minutes I decided to go to the restroom and my husband decided we would leave if a sever didn't come to take our drinks by the time I came back and sure enough no one came we just got up and left. The absolute worst service I have ever received from a restaurant! Took over 2 hours from start to finish! The wait was 20 mins (not bad at all) but once seated it took another 20 mins to get our drinks and over an hour to get our food! (Never got bread or salads prior to dinner) The lady that brought the food out was not our server but I mentioned to her that we never received the salads and she told the manager, but he never once came to our table to even apologize. We had to ask several times for refills, for ranch, and for sweetner for our tea. All the meals finally came out except my husbands, The waiter said it was because they overcooked his pork chops, and had to be remade.....everyone else was finished eating before his food finally got to this table. We finally paid and left (I either forgot to grab the debit card from the little receipt holder that they bring to the table or the waiter didn't put it back (still my fault for not getting it) BUT when we went back for it, they asked what the card looked like and the name on the card..... my husband told them, we got the card and left. So we try to use the card for gas and it didn't work, thought o'well it's just the card reader and went home. Today my husband tried 4 times using that card and got declined, finally went to look more closely at the card and realized we were handed somebody else's card!!! now don't get me wrong, Midland location is wonderful but odessa (which is brand new) needs some serious training..... starting with a manager who apparently can't even come to a table to address an issue!!! read more

I'm giving it 2 stars. Its a new place. The staff is new. For the only 2 times I've been there by food has been overly seasoned "salty" inedible. They've forgotten certain foods from what I've ordered such as lobster tail and sides. They brought out my man's food first then 15 minutes later mine after my man had already finished. I'm a server and that's a big no no. The steaks taste very cheap kinda like Cheedars steaks. The longhorn in Midland tx has impressed much more.
