A friend of mine recommended Long's Bridal to me last month. I am 5-6, and I needed someone with experience/expertise in tailoring suits for guys my height. I called Gwen (owner) to schedule an appointment. She said she would let me know if an alteration was sensible and/or cost effective. Measurements took less than 15 minutes and my 2 suits were ready in less than 2 weeks -- I told her not to rush. She took in my jackets, making them look less boxy and tightened my pants' waistband, giving them a better fitted look. I was so pleased that I returned the next day with my daughter's dress that needed to be trimmed shorter. Gwen got it done, just in time for the wedding next weekend. It is so important to have a good tailor and Gwen has delivered on the promises my friend made. As skilled as she is in her profession, she is also a better person! The folks at Long's are incredibly kind and welcoming. They took my dress in around the waist, took up the hem, and let out the seam in the arms which was a touch snug. These were, what I thought, fairly minor alterations. The charge was over $400. I was willing to swallow the price with the assurance from a friend and fellow reviewers of their high quality work. However, this is how the hem turned out. I asked if it would be made less visible the first time I saw it, and they assured me "yes" it was just in its interim stage. When I picked it up though it still just looks stitched on, and upon closer inspection there are red stains along the hem! I love my dress and they certainly did a nice job with the shape, but I just did not feel like these folks provided the quality of work I was expecting for the price. If you have a lace dress, I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

I was in town for my son's wedding, and there was tragic accident with my original dress which required I order a new dress for the wedding which I got only 2 days before his wedding and I had to beg Jenni to please do a rush job for me and turn the alterations around in a day. She understood my panic and re-arranged her schedule to accomodate my desperate need. She was accomodating, runs a top notch operation did a fabulous job and is incredibly professional! I knew from the moment I talked to her that I could count on her to do a good job and she did in fact come through and to everything PERFECTLY. FANTASTIC friendly service and HIGH quality alteration! I am going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding this weekend. The dress was purchased online and shipped to me by the bride. Although it was supposedly made to my measurements, it was literally about 4 sizes too big. The dress is long and has a lot of fabric so the alterations to it were fairly expensive, plus I requested a tapered cut along the bottom instead of just a straight flat bottom... so the total was about $200 but I think it was worth it. I would be scared to trust another place to do such a major alteration. The best part about this place, to me, is the service. It appears that a mother and daughter work here and they are both SUPER sweet, nice, friendly, but also hard-working and very competent. I really felt like they truly cared about doing a great job because they understand that their work impacts people's lives... I mean, this is for a wedding, not just any old garment!! They do alterations for regular garments, too.... so, I may be back! I am really short and it is always a challenge to find clothes (especially pants) that fit right! read more

I was having a bridal nightmare. I had previously gone to another seamstress for my alterations and both times I went, I left in tears. Long's Bridal is by far the best place to get anything altered in Central Florida. It's even worth the trip if you live a ways out of this area. I had a dress which I purchased in a much larger size due to it being the only one available, I had been looking to repair this dress for years, but no alteration place seemed good enough. The dress was complicated to fix due to the construction of it, which had corset type seams, but I brought it into Long's and they immediately got my dress from a size 14 to a 4, and fitted it perfectly to my body shape! It's now the cutest dress and I love wearing it to special events. The quality and craftsmanship of the alternations they do are unmatched, and worth every penny. Also, unlike other alteration stores which seem quite dingy and with people who don't seem to understand your requests well, everyone in this store is knowledgeable, friendly, and really easy to talk to. AMAZING!!! I had to "let out" a bides made dress as it was too small. This seemed like an impossible alteration due to the style of the dress. They were able to let out the perfect amount and it fit perfect. The dress looks intact and the staff were super friendly. I recommend this alterations to anyone. Come here if you want to go to a classy establishment. Every since they moved off colonial to waterford lakes the store's image has improved greatly!! The new layout is lovely! All white, candles, dressed up toy puppies running around, crystal and clean everything! All they need to do is offer a glass of wine and they would be fit to serve royalty. I will take all stuff here! My only problem is the prices are really high. I had a multi layer dress that needed to be hemmed and I paid 60 dollars. If u want to pay 10 bucks, go to ur local random dry cleaner. But if u want the experience and service and new atmosphere is worth it to head to longs bridal. read more

This place is wonderful! I dropped off my dress only 3 weeks in advance but she was able to get it done, and early! I had an appointment to pick it up Saturday at 10 and I called Friday morning to see if I could get it early, she said it was no problem the dress was ready and I could come whenever I needed too. It fit perfectly and the length was perfect which was awesome because I didn't even have my shoes with me when I get fitted. Absolutely recommend, very clean, she's super sweet. I came to Long's on the recommendation of a friend. I'm a guest at a holiday wedding and the dress I plan to wear was in desperate need of taking in. I was able to walk in to the shop and get help right away. The shop is tucked back on the less-busy side of Waterford Lakes, and takes a little bit of driving around to find it. It was clean, well-lit, and provided good privacy while changing. The seamstress offered expert advice and I was really pleased with her suggestions. I picked up my dress this weekend and it fit perfectly! I could not have been more pleased with the result. The only downside was cost. It was more than expected.
