Latty and Katarina were great baristas. I was working with them at the NFL House during the week of the Super Bowl in DTLA. Both of them and the other staff were great to us and the guests. It was mainly 2 of them to serve at an event with around 2,500+ people. They were also kind enough to offer us lattes and even recommended one with Dove chocolate, which I loved! My favorite was the Oat latte and my husband loved the Spicy Salted Caramel with ghost pepper salt which had a nice kick to it. Their shop is next to the library, and small but cute! It opens into another seating area which has a nice view of MOCA across the street, as well as a cool wall mural that can serve as a nice backdrop for posting coffee pics on social media. I tried their cappuccino and it was really good, super smooth and not overly acidic and it didn't taste burned at all, which is always a plus. Parking is validated by the library, free for 3 hours. Not too shabby for WeHo, but if you are planning on studying more than that, prices rack up pretty quickly. The ambience was hip and small with some pretty artwork/photographs. Small white round tables with orange chairs provide a chic aesthetic but definitely not recommended to study at. It was an awkward narrow layout, kind of loud, and the tables were dirty. Really just a quick grab n go' coffee place when at the library and willing to splurge to keep the attention span strong when studying/working. read more

Longshot Coffee was founded by three Australians who wanted to bring their passion for great coffee to Los Angeles. In addition to wholesaling their Australian roast coffee, Longshot offers fully-equipped, mobile espresso bar services for private parties, corporate events, retail stores and film and TV sets. Longshot Coffee also can be had at various farmers' markets around town. On Saturday (8 am - 1 pm), one of their mobile bars sets up at the Autry Farmers' Market, located at the south parking lot across the way from the LA Zoo entrance. The gentleman working that day was very friendly and happy to answer my questions. I decided to forego my usual cappuccino and ordered a FLAT WHITE and it was excellent. Afterwards I read up on this drink. Turns out the flat white was developed in Australia and New Zealand. Flat whites are typically prepared using espresso beans with a relatively light roast (which Longshot uses) that are sweeter and smoother than traditional dark Italian roasts. Also, in a flat white, the milk is steamed without frothing so that the milk's fats and proteins are retained and a very thin layer of velvety microfoam is created (the "flat" in flat white), as opposed to the high amount of foam in a cappuccino. The creamy milk is then folded into the espresso resulting in a smooth texture. So good! read more

One of my new favorite coffees in Los Angeles! The baristas are so friendly, each roast is perfect, and the coffee is amazing. I judge a cafe on their espresso and their cappuccino. The espresso was well balanced, a little acid but an amazing smooth flavor (seemed to be Arabia beans, for those that know). It really reminded me of the coffee I had in Italy. I wanted more! The only downside to an espresso is that it's so little lol. The cappucino met my standards. Good milk to coffee ratio, a little bit of foam, and perfect temperature. And of course nice latte art. I haven't had much to eat there but I can definitely recommend the chocolate chip cookies!!! Soft, chewy, fresh....omnomnom...anyway, their croissant was nice and flaky, and their biscotti was so good too. Their food is always fresh and baked daily. My point: if you love coffee, you'll love this place. No pretentiousness, no hipsters or scenesters. Just straight up good coffee. read more

It was tasty and not too sweet and I loved how there were little bites of chai in the bottom of the latte. The ham and pesto sandwich was a pretty generous portion and was delicious. I ended up having a caramel latte with macadamia nut milk, a nut/seed veggie burger, and some fresh banana bread heated up on the sandwich press, and it was all delicious! I'm also really excited that they have some traditional Australian desserts (baked fresh at home by an Australian woman) because I was introduced to them by some Australian friends and love being able to get them locally.
