This was our second time using Yummy Tacos. The first time we booked with them everything was absolutely perfect, which is why we decided to use them again for our recent party. The booking process was easy, and Alba was always quick to answer all of my questions, which I really appreciated. Our taco man arrived ahead of schedule, was very nice, worked efficiently, and the presentation looked great. He also gave me clear instructions about when he would call for the final round and reminded me to have containers ready for leftovers, which we did. I appreciated how organized and professional that part of the experience was. Unfortunately, there were a couple things this time that really didn't sit well with me. As the host of a party, I'm constantly moving around and making sure everything is running smoothly. As he was getting ready to leave, he asked me about a tip. I had every intention of tipping, but being asked directly felt uncomfortable and a little awkward. Then asked about the final payment. I told him I would send the payment through Zelle, he left--but came back shortly after to ask if I had sent it yet. I was still in the middle of hosting and hadn't had a chance to do it. It put me in an uncomfortable position, and my guests even started noticing and wondering what was going on. He apologized several times and explained it was the owner's policy, and I understand he may have been following instructions, but I ended up having to stop what I was doing during the party to send payment immediately. Afterward I checked the invoice and saw final payment was due the day of the event, which I completely understand. I just would have much preferred payment to be collected upfront upon arrival rather than being stopped during hosting while trying to manage guests. The food this time was also just okay--not as great as our first experience. We hired My Yummy Tacos for a school event for one of our sports team's banquet. This review is based solely on the food quality/ taste. I had an easy booking/ transacation with Alma. She was patient and assisted via email while booking the event. She took care of making sure all permits/ were provided to the school in a timely manner. I modified my order a couple of times and added items, she made sure to get me the correct and final invoice. A couple days before the event she confirmed we were all set. On the day of the event the chefs arrived early and were ready to begin setup. The way that they laid out the food and display was beautiful. They brought everything to make sure presentation was perfect. Now we get to the food, my family and I are Latino and we are very familiar with meats/ quality of food. The chorizo they used look gooey and mushy, like whatever you would pull out of a cacique pack, the cheapest of the cheap. Their chicken was chewy and coloring was dark red, I have never had chicken like that. The meat was probably the cheapest we have ever had it was white and fatty and literally dripped oil that looked like the tortilla had been submerged into oil. All the meat was just terrible and the lowest quality you can think of. Now the beans, rice, guacamole and salsas were all good, no complaints about those things at all. Overall it just seemed like they skimped out on the meat prices and qualities but that was y as that is the main and most important thing. This review is not based at all on anything other than the food, and they thankfully were nice and had good customer service. After the event concluded the servers were tipped seperatly and Benito was paid directly, they were kind and did a great job cleaning up quickly. Loved the decorations and presentation! They brought everything needed - tent, tables, etc. Our package included chicken, asada, pastor, chorizo, grilled onions and jalapeños, chopped onions, cilantro, radishes, limes, red and green salsa, rice, beans, corn tortillas, plates, forks and napkins. We added sour cream, guac, churros, and bacon wrapped hot dogs! Some items to note: - Be sure to add in extra prep/buffer time and don't book your start time too close to the anticipated meal start time. We scheduled ours too close and had to wait a bit but wasn't too long! - As someone noted, the meats are all marinated and do look alike. They were tasty and the group enjoyed it but something to flag since some may be expecting cubes or strips of carne asada - Churros were a fun and easy addition so that we did not have to figure out dessert. The food was quite good, my guests all praised the taste and flavor. The caterer was good as well, respectful and attentive. The presentation of their setup was nice as well. The girl who manages the Instagram page and emails, Alba, is awful. Either too overworked or flat out incompetent. See below for how hard it is to communicate a simple time change, she got confused about how and what I needed and then said they couldn't do it then said they could after all. And messaging them on Instagram is pointless she can never Reference the previous conversation to answer questions quickly. A simple, "are we still confirmed for this" is met with a volley of questions instead of her being able to simply scroll up on the conversation to see what my reservation date is. Overall...I'd probably avoid for a next event only because of the girl who manages their IG and emails. The price was about on par with other taco caterers. read more

1/5 Stars WORSE EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND. DO NOT TRUST THEIR INSTAGRAM! Their Instagram page looks beautiful and professional, but do not fall for it--the actual setup and service were incredibly unprofessional. I had 60 guests so it was not a little order for them to screw things up. To start, the cooks arrived late. Once they finally got here, they didn't speak English and were asking my guests/family for drinks (specifically "cerveza") while they were supposed to be working. They also didn't come prepared and we had to provide several things for their set up which is ridiculous because I hired a company to do the work and not have stress on the day of. The food management was an absolute joke for a "professional" company. They completely ran out of asada meat. For the leftover tortas, they literally just handed me the bare bread with absolutely no meat left to go in them. How does a catering company fail so badly at calculating food portions that you completely run out of the main meat for the torta order? To make matters worse, the plastic bags the torta bread came in were completely filled with condensation, so god knows how long that bread was just sitting in their car under the hot sun. When it came to packing up the leftover chicken and al pastor, it got even worse. I explicitly provided them with containers to put the food in. Instead of packing it properly, they just threw the leftover tortillas right into the middle of the meat. By the time I looked at it, everything was a soggy, mushy mess, and I had to throw all of it directly into the trash. When this was brought up by email no one got back to me but once it came to the payment they were very quick in trying to figure that out. While I needed an explanation for such a bad service the owner didn't say anything just sorry and that he didn't really care and needed his payment.WHAT A WAY OF HANDLING A FORMAL COMPLAINT SENT BY EMAIL. I was told my another employee of theirs that they have alot of new people that don't know what they are doing so go figure. And if the owner doesn't care about that do yourself a favor and don't hire them. Save yourself the stress, money, and headache. I am a returning customer after they knocked it out of the park last year and was very happy with the entire experience. Naturally, wanted to hire them again this year for a birthday party. Unfortunately I could not get past the booking stage as I was being rushed to pay a deposit while negotiating a start time and menu items were still being discussed. I was sent an incorrect invoice multiple times after requesting corrections so I believe the the booking contact Alba may have too much on their plate as it was difficult to get a simple change like the start time corrected. Benito and his team have served our events and we've had such a great experience in the past. We had referred him to several family and friends. We hired him for another personal event in June, 2026. Finalizing our order via email was difficult, as I had to make corrections on the order several times. Whoever is handling the email orders seems to be operating on autopilot. Sadly, I thought this would be the only issue. Unfortunately, the tacos didn't have the good taste that it had in the past. My cousin who made birria saved the day. My guests complemented my cousin on her food, and made unfavorable comments about the tacos which was a paid service. It was difficult for me to receive this feedback, which has forced me to arrive to a decision of not hiring Yummy Tacos for future events. I booked my yummy tacos for my son's 5th birthday at a park and to start everything from the booking to the communication was great I give it to them. But as far as food quality the worst ! I had chosen chorizo,chicken,asada and Al pastor .
