What a great local spot in Brooklyn with the freshest of seafood. Tried this place while in town suggested from a friend who posted earlier this summer and knew I had to try it. Lots of choices to choose from. We opted for the fried snapper and fries per a guest who over heard is trying to decide: what a great sandwich! So Fresh and full of flavor and the seasoned old bay fries were delish. We even got to meet the owner Joey who stopped in who was super nice. Limited seating , very clean, and they also offer fresh seafoods to cook at home. Definitely worth a try !

Just the best fish market in the neighborhood! Wild caught fish, incredible service and they can cook for you.

I came of age in the neighborhood where this place is located. That, along with good social media pictures and reviews- is why I was eager to check it out. I love the friendly vibe of the place and the layout of fresh seafood to choose from. Also, my order was prepared quickly. While I was there, a customer came in raving about the softshell crab sandwich, so I got that. I also ordered a fried whiting sandwich for my mother. Both our orders were way too salty. While I ate mine, my mom couldn't enjoy hers. Since that was my first time having softshell crab, I'm going to try it again somewhere else to compare. Prices are kind of high for what you get, but - that describes a lot of restaurants now!

Just everything about Shipwreck Gourmet Fish Boutique is EVERYTHANG! It took me forever to get here... I could have ordered via a food app, but I wanted the experience... even when I was having oyster meltdowns, I suffered through them, and now I am happily here! So Joey and his sister are ALL THAT with their passion, vibe and customer service! The boutique is smaller than I imagined, but it is a good size and not cramped. The little fish/nautical themed touches add the cuteness of the space. There is absolutely no fishy smell inside or out. Lastly, my oyster sandwich is very fresh, tasty, and the breading is light and crispy. The brioche roll is soft and fluffy. The seasoning on the oysters and the fries is just right. So, I will become a regular (whether it's to eat in, delivery, or buying fresh to prepare at home).

Such a neighborhood gem!! Shipwreck has a large variety of raw seafood as well as a menu of items they cook in house. The seafood is so fresh and very affordable. They even have raw oysters and sushi grade tuna! The sandwiches and other fried items are a can't miss either. The fish is fried per order and the batter is so crispy and flavorful. I love the addition of Old Bay fries. They are so addicting! The owner is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about seafood. He can help you pick the best type of seafood for your needs.

I would always see this spot when I drove down Bedford Ave and say I needed to stop in. Today was the day!! When I entered I was a little confused (in a good way) bc it doesn't appear like your typical fish fry joint. I swear this spot would be a dope speakeasy and when you push on a refrigerator door it turns into a seafood restaurant but, I digress... The food was perfect, the owner was there a true blue Brooklyn cat, full of life and amazing stories about the borough we both love. We had our food to stay and I swear that he treated everyone with the same love, kindness and respect. He also mentioned that it was a family business and his sister made our meals! So dope...go here!!!

Amazing service and extremely fresh, tasty, and plentiful options!! We ordered a cod fish and chips and grouper sandwich!!! Both were so good but I preferred the cod. Fries were also seasoned well with old bay and both came out nice and hot to the point where my mouth was on fire!! Highly highly recommend for all your fish needs, prepared, fresh, condiments, sides-- EVERYTHING. The guy was really helpful and informative and told us that he goes to the fish market every morning to ensure everything is fresh. I will definitely be back again!! Thank you!!

Finally made it to Shipwreck. I was craving fresh seafood and decided to incorporate a walk to Shipwreck on my daily pandemic walk. Friendly engaging service. Seafood was really fresh and can't wait to cook it tonight. It was worth the wait on line outside to get in and make your purchases. Will definitely be back and get their early since they sell out

Everything came out hot, delicious, and well seasoned. The Dungeness crab was a standout, and it was refreshing to enjoy such a wide variety of seafood and traditional dishes. My wife was pleasantly surprised by the entire meal. The interior was nicely done and felt different from many other Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn. Service was attentive, and they seated us in a corner where we could enjoy our family conversation without constant interruption. The food came out very quickly, maybe a little too quickly, but we were fine with it. Before we ordered the Mother's Day special, I specifically asked the waitress if she would like her tip in cash and she said of course! The special was $95/person plus a 20% TIP ($38) which was $228! See photo below! We ordered some other items and the waitress gave me my bill for $252.86. We then drove 10 blocks to Chase to get out cash for her. I then noticed that I was charged $298.86. It was the $252.86 plus a TIP of $45.20! I immediately returned to discuss the discrepancies. The tip that was supposed to be $38 was now $45.20! The waitress then said she would credit my account. My question was how did this happen! All three waitresses stated it was not them and that the machine did this! How was this possible? Not one of them took responsibility for the discrepancies! Had I not looked at my bank statement then I would never have known that I would be tipping her twice! I then decided to leave to explain to my mom! Then the short Indian (I think) than sarcastically stated "Oh so now you're not going to tip us" Really! I drove 10 blocks and I NEVER ONCE STATED THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO TIP HER! I merely was going to let my mom know what happened and then TIP her! Note* I was going to give her a $100 cash TIP! Had she given me the REAL receipt with the $45 TIP then I would have given her $50 CASH but since she only produced the REAL receipt after I came back (how ironic) and told her she charged the wrong amount, she would have received $100 TIP. But since the short Indian waitress made that slick remark, she did not receive anything! After the disrespect and blaming the machine and giving me a fake receipt? I decided to leave! If this is how you conduct business then you just lost a great customer! PS! The food was great!

It's got a solid, nautical feel that gives you enough brass and wood to feel like a real lobster shack. They've got a generous stretch of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice, and inside, the music sits at a good volume. Then comes the food. I started with the clam chowder. It's good ...comforting, rich, well-made ......even if it's a little light on the minced clams. I caught myself digging around with my spoon, searching for a few more chunks of clam in the creamy broth, but I forgave it because the flavor was fantastic. Main event: the Maine lobster roll. Now look, I've eaten lobster rolls all over the Northeast..and a few other places. When you order a lobster roll, you're looking for flavor and simplicity. Red Hook's roll is good. The lobster is fresh. But here's the thing: at an overall tab running around $80 a head, you expect a top-tier entry into the culinary lobster roll pantheon. Instead, it lands on the smaller side of the spectrum. Worse, the kitchen holds back on the seasoning. Lobster is sweet and rich, sure, but it needs a little help...... a hint of herbs, or just a generous hand with the salt/pepper to elevate it from good to great. It's a good roll, but when the check landed, I couldn't help feeling a bit let down. To finish, I looked at the dessert choices. Options were slim, but I ordered the flourless chocolate cake and it did the job. I'll definitely give this place a second visit and possibly try some of the other items on their menu.
