I'm considering moving to the Longwood Cypress neighborhood soon so I really wanted to like this course. Overall, it's a decent course, but has some issues and is generally overpriced. The man in the pro shop was friendly, but the starter was rather gruff. I appreciated that the cart girl came by at least 3 times during our round. One of the clubhouse restaurant workers was pretty rude but the others were nice. The layout of each hole was enjoyable, but the signage between holes was lacking and/or confusing. I genuinely got lost once and another player helped me out. If it's your first time playing here you might find that a little annoying. It was also odd that the course design doesn't bring you back to the clubhouse (for quick snack/beer refill) until hole 12. The greens, although not perfect, were solid. The fairways were in ok shape but no better than typical municipal courses. This is definitely a decent course, however there's no way it's worth the $115 weekend rate. The carts were super basic and didn't even have coolers. A lot of the cart path was compacted dirt instead of pavement. They only have trash cans every few holes and I didn't see a ball cleaner all day (maybe I missed that). These factors don't impact the game but I expect better for $115. For a little more $ I could play at a pristine course like Golf Club of Houston. If they enhanced overall conditions or charged around $70 I think this would be a good option. read more

Golf course is in really good condition. New owners have made the effort to shape it up. Price point however seemed a bit too high.

I have been a resident of the Longwood Village community for nearly 25 years. I have been golfing for nearly 25 years as well and my handicap is 5. Although I have been golfing 25 years, I have shied away from the golf course as it appears the company that manages or owns it, reinvested very little or nothing into the course to maintain and enhance the facilities. After the course was closed during the entire year of 2023 for remodeling or renovations, I decided to become a member in mid March 2024 based on the appearance of the holes that I could see from the street. At the beginning of June 2024, half of the 18 golf course was shuttered for maintenance which it severely needed. The half that was shuttered included mostly the 14 holes that existed with the old 27 hole layout. On August 17, 2024, these shuttered holes reopened to my dismay as the overall condition of these holes are in very poor condition. The manager stated the course is 80% from completion. I don't think he's no where close to being accurate with that statement. There is too much work to be done to this facility to be a playable course. In fact, when you take into account the numerous dead trees on the property, many of which are in the field of play and pose a serious danger. I have played many top golf courses across the US and Canada including courses that have hosted PGA major tournaments. I have decided to cancel my membership at The Golf Club @ Longwood after 5 and one half months. Remember for 2 months plus of these 5 and 1/2 months , the course was reduced to 9 holes in view of maintenance. read more

Wonderful club! A lot of membership options available. Course in good to excellent condition. Bar staff are not only professional and personable - but "hotties" as well. Check in is always a friendly and efficient experience. Starter house "old dudes" manage to keep it friendly and fun. All they need is a pot bellied stove to complete the picture! I am very ok with the pricing and location of Longwood. I have had several different experiences at this course over the last 10 years. Some have been pretty good and some have just been ok. I have to give them an overall rating of 4 stars. That's just the vibe i am feeling as I write this review. The courses are pretty good...( 3 nine hole courses Palm,Pine,and Post)....the greens could definitely be better..but they are better than they have been in the past....These Covid times make everything different...but as far as the driving range and facility as a whole...gotta say give them a try...as we're learning even more now....Life is short...Get in....Get out....Enjoy.... read more

I am very disappointed with the way the administration of this facility has handled my situation. I am a committed member of the Cypress community. I work, live, and support local businesses in the Cypress community. On January 11, 2023 I bid at an auction hosted by the Cy-Fair HS Orchestra for a round of golf for 4 people. I won the auction and paid $100 in exchange for a gift card valid from January 11, 2023 through January 11, 2024. Because I am a school teacher, I decided to use my gift card in May of 2023 (the gift card had not yet expired). I contacted the golf club through their website twice and never got a response from anyone. I then called the number on the website and spoke to a gentleman, and he informed me that the golf course was being remodeled and to call back in November. I called back in November of 2023 and a voice message said that the golf course would reopen hopefully by the end of November 2023 or December 2023. I called again in December so that I could book a tee time and was told the golf course still wasn't opened and to call back in the spring. Now by this point the gift card had expired but I was told that they would extend the time since the golf course had been closed for remodeling. We called again in March of 2024 and were told that the golf course was only open for members and it would open to the public in June 2024. We then called in June and were told that it was still only open to members and that they didn't understand why someone would offer a gift card if the golf course was closed for remodeling. We spoke to Tony and emailed him a copy of the gift card. His response was "Unfortunately the certificate expired on 11th of Jan 2024. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused." We were BAFFLED at his response as we had thoroughly explained in our email all of our communications with the golf course. We have now contacted the general manager, Tim, who was very rude and condescending. He said he'd contact us, but that was two days ago, and we're still waiting. I have lost hope that we will be able to enjoy the gift certificate. It doesn't hurt me or my pocket to have paid $100 because it went towards a fundraiser for Cy-Fair's HS orchestra. What really bothers me is that the golf course has not honored their side of the deal. If you aren't going to honor a contribution you're making to a school, then don't offer it. My impression of the administration of the golf course is that they don't care to support their local community nor are they willing to help us with the situation. We fulfilled our end of the deal. It wasn't in our control that the golf course has been under remodel for almost the whole time of the dates on our gift certificate. We initiated communication multiple times and we either didn't get a response, were told to call back, or were dismissed with an attitude. This is my neighborhood golf course. They could make it so much more appealing if they'd work with the hoa and get a deal struck to have it be a little more cost reasonable. They do offer memberships but they're only okay for the price. The bar/lunch area is great. But like golf courses you can buy a 6 pack for the price of a 24 pack. Kinda stupid if you ask me. For a Saturday t time it's 50 bucks plus tax. A bucket of balls? 5 bucks more. Really gouge you here. The course is okay. But for 50 bucks I'd expect gps in the carts and a better kept course. It's always great when you're trying to chip in and the lawn crew is driving all around you. /s Honestly I'm not impressed. For 40 bucks I can go have an infinitely better experience at top golf. This may be the most poorly maintained golf course in the state of Texas. The greens were covered in fungus, the tee boxes were trash...hell even the cart barn had timbers falling off. 1 of the 9 were closed, and they STILL couldn't maintain the other 18 at even a respectable level. Wonderful club! Been playing here almost a year - went from Loyalty Club to regular membership. Course is in really good shape. Staff in pro shop are professional and helpful. Guys in Starter shack are a hoot - Lynn, Bobby, and Eddie! Bar staff very quick and accommodating - also real hotties! You get the occasional 4:20 minute round but you get the 3:00 hour more often. Could not be more pleased with my experience. Call and ask for "Ellie" she can fix you up with the right membership! read more

This place needs new management, and a new golf pro. I am not a golf snob by any means, but compared to the courses I've been too both in Minnesota, and the Houston area (I've lived in Longwood community for over 4 months), Longwood has set the bar so low. Aside from the course conditions which aren't the greatest, but okay, the golf Pro is an absolute jerk, and seems so inconvenienced anytime he needs to address a customer in the pro shop. When we first moved here, I signed my kids up for a thanksgiving camp, which was basically just the pro watching them hit golf balls. Little to no instructional, or attempt to make it fun for my 12 and 7 year old, it was basically a daycare on a golf course which my 12 year old was regretting going, and I would have rather saved my $300, just seemed like a convenient money grab for the pro and course.... my kids are now at the sterling academy youth program at Houston National golf course, offers everything in their program which the pro Kelly did not at his "camp" However, I do want to give Recognition to the younger gentlemen who work the pro shop during the weekend, and randomly during the week, they are friendly and show appreciation for the business we bring them, and are very genuine, and want to give us a good experience. Management issue: I don't know who manages this place, but there are a number of issues in which if I was running those operations, I would adress immediately. I am a part of the loyalty membership program, which gives me free range balls, and discounted golf, and today marks the third straight time I've arrived to the course, and have been unable to hit range balls, all within the last 2-3 weeks. All 3 times have been For different reasons, none of which were weather related, but availability of range balls. If the range was closed due to weather, I would understand, but at 1pm on a 75 degree day, you tell me range balls are out, or their being cleaned, or inventory is short, inexcusable for a golf course in my opinion. This is the only course which I've ever experienced range ball shortages at, and to have it happen 3 straight times is just poor management. You have the equipment, so make it happen! Also the golf carts are in terrible condition, over half the time I've golfed this course either the brakes barely worked, and the steering wheel needed half a rotation before the cart turned. Spend the money to take care of your equipment, or perform maintenance on them if you have a mechanic, like some course do. They also need more clear directional signage for each course as it's very confusing if you are not familiar with it, not a huge deal, but since I'm listing opportunities, might as well get it all out. I really like the layout, hazards, and nature this course has to offer, not to mention it's in my community! I think it could be a great course, but with all of these issues happening, which are fully preventable from a management standpoint, it will continue to be the butt of jokes. Anytime I tell someone I golf at Longwood, they have nothing but negative comments towards it. Change the preventable issues, and I'd be more than willing to upgrade my membership, and be proud to live by this course. Until then, I'm using my membership only at cypress lakes, which shows care by ensuring they are managing what they can control, and providing a good experience which I've had every time I Golf there. I'll still pop in maybe once a month hoping to see some changes, starting at the top, and at the front counter, to see if your course is worth investing more time and money into. Awful. No landscaping. Lazy staff. Dirty grounds. Very embarrassing if you bring guests. It's really a waste because this course and venue could be spectacular. It's in a fabulous neighborhood, but it needs a major overhaul (inside club house and venue). Screens flapping in the wind. All fees not disclosed. Paint peeling off walls (even though I mentioned it twice before event). Put a tip jar out at a wedding! Very tacky. Didn't have silverware ready when guests had plates of food, ready to eat. I'll never forget my experience here. I moved in the area and basically started coming here daily. I came in after my 18 holes one evening and went to the bar and the awesome bartender asked me to move down a few seats to make room since I was solo and it was getting full at bar. I moved willingly. Then I ordered a drink and bartender asked me to move again to end of bar by register where I barely fit and that was fine. No problem at all! Then I made friends and had a great time in that seat. Next morning I was the first person at the bar and ordered a drink and sat next to register in my same seat where I was moved to day before and a 18 year old girl making hot dogs asked me to move my seat. NOBODY was there except a gentlemen who ordered a hot dog and left. I asked why did I have to move if I'm the first person to sit at the bar and she said "because you can see people's receipts sitting next to register". I said "for hot dogs? I was asked to move here yesterday and it was packed" Then since I refused to move she called down her boss from some office and he said "you have to move!!!" I explained how I moved the day before and how they had no one in the club house and I was about to play 18. He said he didn't care and I needed to leave the premises. I closed out end left with no confrontation. I've never seen an 18 year old with such power who makes hot dogs have that much power to boot a member. Hope she makes them a ton of cash because I was a member and canceled. 1 stars happens for a reason! Shout out to hot dogs at 8am. Despite the drought, Longwood fairways and greens are in good condition. The golf carts are always charged. The clubhouse is clean all personnel are friendly and competent. The prices are reasonable for Houston. conclusion, I recommend golf at Longwood! read more

We really had a great time here, today. The course was in excellent condition. The fairways gave you a perfect lie every time, and the greens were excellent! Staff inside was friendly and informative, and the clubhouse/bar area was quite pleasant. The course, I think, is a little more difficult than most, but it rewards good shots more than it penalizes bad ones. Some of the greens are tricky, and each hole has its own character. If you've never played here, you won't be disappointed. read more

I golf here regularly and I have a membership, however, it is disappointing how frequently you have to hit off the mats at the driving range and also how frequently they run out of range balls. The range balls are also in terrible condition. Every bucket I get has at least two balls which have been sliced open by the lawn mower. The older gent at the pro shop is very surly and appears to hate his job. Most of the golf carts have a very finicky parking break. The lady at the bar is always very pleasant and helpful. I think she's the only staff member who I repeatedly get good service from. The greens are also in pretty finicky shape most of the time. The reason I still golf here is because of the affordable membership, and free driving range with the membership. Longwood isn't terrible, but it isn't great. read more

I play Longwood about three times a month except for the blazing days of Houston summer. It is 3 - 9 hole course which makes it nice and varied. All the trees they lost due to the drought has made it a little easier to get around for a golfer like me who is in the woods quite often. It is worth the $10/yr fee to join the players club. You get a discount on the green fees and the fee includes, breakfast, lunch and 2 draft beers. It is the best golf deal I have found in Houston. They also tally up the rounds you have played during the year and you get something free. Last year I got a very nice pair of Adidas gold shoes. The course is in very nice shape right now. The guy in the pro-shop wouldn't help us after they messed up the booking. Another lady who works there was checking her phone while people were lined up trying to pay. We ended up leaving. My friends and I have the worse experience today at Longwood. We have been playing at this course for the last 15 years and my company has tournements here for the last 3 years, the management team today are totally unexceptable for the brand of Arnold Palmer Management... May be just the ones that work at Longwood, Tour 18, Southwyck giving us memorable experiences. Even Cinco Ranch, Great Wood or further out course like Oak Hurst giving us better service. We all work hard during the week, all we need is 4 hours at the course to release our stress, not have more stress and get pissed off before we get to the first tee-box. No sense of urgency, if their are 7 players in line to pay, 2 guys behind the counter. Only one is running the register, how long does it take to check in 4 players/ paying separately ??? By the time we get outside to get our carts, the marshall behind the counter said "You are late", we are not late we still have 3 minutes to get to the tee box. We waited more than 10 minutes in the pro-shop, at the same time the other players walk up to the window with the same tee time. The Marshall is so confused, and tell them "You are Late". Actually, there are two / nine holes, with the same tee times....None of us are late.....On the way driving to the first tee box, another marshall yelling out "You are Late" I just dusted him off, telling him he does not know what the heck is going on. Got to the 1st tee box, check point marshall told us "You are Late" , we still have to wait for another 4-5 minutes.....on the tee box. We not late.... Tee times too close together ?? Confusing Marshalls, need to tell them the 60's is over, and they are leaving in the most divers cities so deal with it. No sense of urgency,, Rude, not friendly, we are not paying $20.00 to play a round of golf. We are driving long distance to spend good amount of money, did not take out on beer girls they got good tips from us, may be these guys should learn about good customer service from these young ladies. read more

Decent layout, but the greens are really, really really, slow and features tons of dead spots. Bunkers also goes from solid as dried lake bottom to fluffy and perfect. Cant tell whats going on here, but it's not a enjoyable course to be played in these conditions. It's been much much better, and it's sad to see this course so ran down. read more

Golf course have beautiful layout, but still have a lot to improve: some of pro shop staff are not friendly and unprofessional working skill, not taking care properly most of fairways and some of greens, no signs for golf moving directions: Palm 1 to 2, Posh 1 to 2, etc., range balls are dirty, carts are in poor condition. read more

Worst golf course in Houston. I've been there three times in the last six months. The pro shop staff has tried to over charge me for the round twice and have least amount of customer service on any golf course I've been to. They do not offer cart service past 3pm all the times I've been there and the marshals do not enforce etiquette or pace of play. The course normally runs 40$ per round but depending on which guy in the proshop checks you out it may be 60$. The course itself is not kept well at all, greens have weeds growing out all over the place and there are tree stumps and dirt all over the place. Complete waste of money. read more

I booked a tee time here yesterday, online and when I got there Brett in the pro shop was a real gentleman great customer service and even though the course is pretty much under repair because of that hurricane he made up for with a superstar attitude so even though the course may deserve three stars I think Brett deserves five stars giving this a four star rating.... thanks Brett for kicking ass in the pro shop! read more

Been a member here for a while, and this course gets progressively worse every time I play it. The customer service is terrible, the people that work there are rude and treat you like you are bothering them. If you ask them a question, they talk to you like you're an idiot. The course is always backed up because they stack tee times. The course is always in bad shape, greens all have dead grass, burns, sand or something on them. Trash everywhere and not taken care of. And to top it off, the golf cart dies almost every single round! And when you call the office, it takes them at least 30 min to get to you. The pictures on their website are not anything close to what the course looks like. Save your money and go to Windrose, Black Horse or Houston National. Longwood is a joke. read more

The course itself, 3 9's, is not that bad. Nice driving range too. Biggest complaint, by far, is the service inside the pro shop. If you hate your job that much, quit already and go dig ditches. This is the worst golf course in the entire greater Houston area, I mean what a s___hole. The greens are like putting on shag carpet from the 70's, that is when your not putting off the numerous rot on all of their greens. The fairways are in horrible shape, the lakes smell like sewage, the traps are horrible, and holy s___ the cart paths. This place should be shut down, even the discounted rates aren't worth it. Longwood reminds me of Houston Hills which was on an old garbage dump site, it has potential, but it's obvious that the wrong people own this dump. I will never play there again! read more

Absolute F***ing rip off. So I bought a junior membership Because my brother go one. So we go in to play today and we check in. We were very aware that the memberships are walking only. So we asked if we could buy a cart for our round and the man said 21$. I was a little confused at first because that costs 4$ less than it would have costed us to play later that day. So after hearing that price, I say no thank you. I walk to my brother and tell him that and he says that he would chip in to pay for the cart. So I walk back in and the man behind the desk says that it would be 42$ now. I give him the most blank stare and ask why. His response was "well, you pay 21$ for half of the seat. If you have 2 people riding in the cart you need to pay for their other half of the seat" and instead of getting up in his face I ask him to cancel the round. They pretty much said that to golf here is 4$ because twilight rates are about 26$ with a cart included. Wish they could make carts 10$ total regardless of how many people per cart read more

Most of the tee boxes look like a cow pasture and all of the greens are like putting on a gravel road. If you are willing to pay $56 (online booking rate) a person there are several courses in the area that are less expensive and have great course conditions. This course has 3 9-hole courses and they don't tell you what course you will be playing for your 2nd 9 holes. If you call them to make the tee time to be sure you play the two course you want there tee rate is $20 more person. This course is not worth $56 a person. read more

We actually golfed here a few years ago but I put my comments under "Tips" accidentally so I'm just moving them around. Pros: I found it to be an interesting and pretty course. A bit challenging. Cons: Seriously, if you can't golf 18 holes without taking a pee don't go here. They have no bathrooms at the turn and they don't give a damn about it or have any plans to change it. Guys, I guess you can pee behind a tree. Ladies - plan on taking a 20 minute ride back to the clubhouse if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of your round. Ridiculous. Excuse this comment if they HAVE improved. For that reason we have not been back. One response to the comments about pace of play - I am a slower golfer and I know golf etiquette but PLEASE don't shoot balls up my ass on the green! If they have stacked the tee times (seems to be a complaint at this course) and we have one or two groups AHEAD of us we CAN'T let you play through! If you see we have parties in front of us have some patience and courtesy on your end too! read more

Talk about a bunch of jacka**es. These guys are absolutely the worst I have ever seen or been subjected to. 25 minutes to check in because they are too lazy to help the new guy who clearly has no idea what he is doing. Numerous employees in the pro shop chatting and watching our frustration level shoot to the moon, and pretending as nothing is happening. A jerk starter that tells us we're late and gives us no option of which nines to play. We then are told that we have to have take on a random 4th, which is perfectly okay in most scenarios, but not so much when you are told to do so (can you say power-trip). The random 4th ended up leaving at the turn as he said he could not take any more from this place as they had 2 groups of 5 ahead. I then called to see about a membership as I saw that they had some good deals, and sat on hold for 13 minutes until I hung up. I then left a message about the whole experience, and what do you know, NO REPLY. The course is okay, nothing spectacular, as it seems that they have let this place go a bit, albeit, they are pretty busy most of the time. I think that whomever is running this place should be asked what the hell they are doing to fix the amazingly bad customer service. I will never give this place another dime, and I suggest you follow suit, as well as read the reviews on all available forums, as 50% + are highly negative. CRAP, CRAP, CRAP that is all they give their patrons at Crapwood. I have never yelped before as I think it is for crybabys, but I had to put this out there so that the golf world would avoid making such a mistake. I played here last week, and contrary to other reviews the course is not in bad shape. Not sure if people think they are playing at Champions or Bentwood, or Longwood.....seriously. It's a public course, there are going to be small things that are wrong with it, but overall the course is in great shape. Greens looked and rolled great, fairways are in fair condition, etc. I play all over the city and this course is definitely not that bad. That being said........if you suck at golf pace of play isn't that important, you're probably the one slowing me down, but if you are a 10 handi or lower it's important I think to get a nice rhythm to your round. Here, that's not possible. It rained right before my round, I mean poured, so there were only a hand full of people out. There was a single in front of me and a threesome in front of them......that's it. The threesome would not let the two of us go through to save their life. The old timers there that act as marshals did nothing to hurry them along or let us go through even though there were fairways open in front of them! Then, this is a 27 hole facility, on the back nine I'm all of a sudden behind 2 threesomes??? Both groups blasting their drives 220yrds from the tips (sarcastically typed). By the time they both FINALLY let me go through my round took me almost 4 hours, seriously should've taken me about 3. PEOPLE, PLEASE, if you suck at golf for god sake let faster play go through!!!! It won't diminish your manhood I promise. No one will ever now. If you have no other golf etiquette learn that!! read more

45 bucks gets you, no water in jugs on a 100+ heat day, cart girls who ignore you (oh and I screamed hey to get their attention), cart girls that I have not seen in the past 2 hrs and counting, crab grass on the green and fairways that look like grass is on it but its like hitting on hardpan. The greens have come along way and were the best shape I've seen in years. Took us 6 1/2 hrs to complete the round to say slow play was a factor is an under statement. The group in front of us waited until the group in front of them cleared the green before hitting their tee shots. Talking to the Marshall was a waist of time. We ran into several players who had lost their way as there weren't enough or clearly marked directional signs. read more
