The trail was paved but not always the same width. Some parts were narrower than others. I saw warning signs for the cyclists to give room for pedestrians. Oh, the restroom is on the right side of parking lot. There were many parking spots. Lucky us, we came here at sunset hour on a windy day. Not many park goers there. I would love to return on a sunny day in the summer.

This splash pad is a treasure for parents with toddlers. For the price of free, I'm very pleased to…read moreknow that there is so much to offer. The splash pad area is well maintained (as of Aug 2023) and has a large variety of water apparatuses. They have things that shoot horizontally, things that rain downward, things that shoot upward, etc. Toddlers and young kids love this area. Right next to it is a small zip line for kids (Not for adults! Don't exceed the weight limit!). This area was down for a little while because someone must have broken it, but the maintenance crew fixed it up relatively quickly. The play area is well equipped with a tall tree tower with tube slide, swings, miniature hill for the little ones, and climbing structures. The whole area lacks ample shade, so choose the time of day and season accordingly. The pool is locked for residence I believe. Same goes for the restroom. Water fountain is available. Notes: -The sidewalk has uneven steps near the splash pad area. Careful when you walk. - There are often times fire ants near the bench area because of food droppings. Be aware when your little one sits or stands near there. - Press the button in the front of the splash pad to activate. I think the splash pad is only open during the summer.

There is a lake with some turtles, Muscovy ducks, mallard ducks. We enjoy having family picnics in the grass here. Plenty of shade under the trees by the lake, as well as shade elsewhere from large trees. Some walking trails, a playground with swings and a baby swing.

Nestled in the back of Covington Woods is Sugar Mill Park. It's a terrific little neighborhood…read morepark with a maze of concrete walking trails shaded by mature trees. You can do loops here and there and make the walk last as long as you like. You can also play volleyball here. Or, like me, you can just sit on one of the shaded benches on a hot summer morning and admire the ducks. There is a small pond intersecting with Hidden Lake Ln. There is a sign that says not to feed the waterfowl. When we came, there were some parents sitting under the gazebo chatting while their three children were running around chasing and harassing ducks. Fortunately, the ducks can escape under the fence to the private backyard section of the small lake. There were only 4 parallel parking spots along Drakewood.

Don't let the seemingly small size of this park fool you, because it's deceptively large and it's…read moreeasy to get turned around in it, especially when it starts getting dark, so if you go in the late afternoon, it would be good to have a flash-light and a little extra water...just in case you get lost! Part of the issue is that the official maps and what's on google maps is very incomplete. There are a lot of other paths that aren't on the map that just kind of appear. If you don't cross over any bridges, you'll be inside the official part of the park and worst case, you just circle back around, but if you do go over that Crossover bridge, you'll be treated to some nice hiking, but there is no other way to circle back around because the 2nd bridge will put you in the "uncharted" part of the park and take you to the Pumpkin Lakes and you will have to come back the same way you came. This is kind of a shame and hopefully in time, they'll add another pedestrian bridge near Red Gully Lookout, but hey, you're there to walk so this is a way to walk more! For some reason, even though this is right next to an airport and a large suburban neighborhood, the GPS keeps going wonky too so don't count on that too much. This was my first visit with some other people who had never visited the park so I think we all became experts in the park and won't get turned around next time but a few extra signs wouldn't have hurt to help newcomers.

I was wanting a park with a lot of greenery and a trail that was paved without having to go all the way to Memorial Park Houston or to Kingwood lol. The atmosphere was so serene. I don't like some of these parks that are out in the open with traffic sworming by and or no shade. It's too hot in Texas to not have trees and who wants to hear and see cars during their walk or bike ride? There were kids playing soccer at the soccer fields within the park. With friendly smiles and hellos everyone of all ages just appeared to be enjoying life, as they should. There are signs posted about alligators so of course you have to be on the look out. Overall I enjoyed it and plan to visit a lot more!

Then I run the entire trail which is about 2.58 miles around one time. Then I walk back to my car. The trail is gravel which is better for your feet, knees and hips opposed to concrete. You'll even catch a bunny or two eating a snack in the grass. Its peaceful for the most part. An area for the doggos to play and a playground for the kiddos. There are bathrooms to the left of the main parking lot.

But the children's play area looked very nice. There was a family on the set. I came here to exercise. Google Maps says this park is nice to walk and has paved cement paths. I couldn't do my normal routine but I had to add more walking at nearby Lake Pointe Running Trail to complete my workout. I really don't like the smell of sewage while walking; plus the traffic noise from Southwest Freeway. OMG. Not coming back.

It is walking distance/driving distance from the Target, but you would not be able to drive directly to the park's parking lot from that direction but you can definitely walk from there! The newer park area is mostly uncovered so it got hot quickly but the play equipment did not get too hot to play on. Lots of covered benches to rest on around this play area and lots of mulch. Once we were tired of playing in the sun, we ran across one of the open field areas to the tree covered playscapes. They were covered in pollen but still fun to play in (good thing we all took our allergy medicine cause we were all yellow once we were done with the slides!!) Lots of climbing choices and slide choices from short to long, straight to curly, and wavy and even parallel bars that I think you slide down on? My adult sister did it so it could work? Lol! Great hidden gem of a park!! I love that there is so much green space around the play area and no open roads so I don't have to worry about my kids running into traffic. It is also close to shopping centers so we could pop over after a trip to the park for refreshments, some A/C, or to run an errand or two. If you have not been here yet, please visit! It is totally worth the visit!

The park itself is pretty busy with patrons and other soccer players. Tons of matches and practices are happening. There is a little playground also along with a sheltered picnic area. Lighting is decent at night. The park does close around 10ish.
