    Tonkatsu ramen.

It's a cool breezy spot to get a pretty authentic Japanese meal. Went and ate there twice in one day! Tonkatsu was a creamy buttery goodness with flavored egg and tender pork. Sushi was freshly made with lots of yumminess...very filling too!

Avocado and cream cheese deep fried rolls and rainbow roll.

AMAZING SUSHI!! We wanted some deep fried rolls and couldn't find anywhere in the island that did it. We called ahead and they were so nice to do our request for us, even though it was not on the menu, the workers were so so kind and nice. Absolutely loved the rolls, some of the best sushi we have had. If you like sushi, YOU NEED TO COME CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!

The food was good. It was a good chirashi bowl. It had 1 piece of yellow fin , ahi , shrimp, bbq eel, tomago, seaweed salad and flying fish roe over sushi rice and it comes with a bowl of miso soup. There was only one piece of each fish. The fish was fresh. I just feel like there was more filler than fish. With the small can of Arizona it came to around $30 so that is why I didn't give five stars. The miso soup was very good tasted homemade. The service was good. I will definitely be going back to try some other menu items. The ambiance well it's a food truck in an old gas station. So that's why I didn't go 5 stars I feel like the pricing was a little high for a lot of rice and seafood salad and about 5 pieces of fish and a small Arizona.

Bro. Best food truck around! The food is freshly made each and every time! We got poke bowl and beef bowl. Both a little pricy but so worth it. The service takes a bit longer but we get to enjoy the Hawaiian sun so it was cool. It's in an old gas station with other food trucks so it can get busy.

My fiancée and I were here on Maui for the weekend I have to say quality and taste was a 5 star. We ordered the spicy ahi roll, shrimp tempura roll and hamachi roll. Definitely our go to for sushi!

Delicious food, convenient location on Dairy Road, and nice hours! Black garlic ramen is delicious and my favorite is the takoyaki. The sushi is great. There is close parking and sit down eating is available. They have a pretty good variety of food items and drinks. Customer service is great every time. I usually call the order ahead if it might be busy around lunch time. Food is consistently good and I'm so thankful for their late hours, especially for Maui. Late night sushi and ramen? Right on!

We tried the chirashidon and braised pork. Both were really good, very flavorful. The fish in the chirashidon was very tender and really fresh, and the unagi was the best I've ever tried so far. The service was friendly and quick. The area is where the food trucks are by the old gas station at the corner of Dairy road and Alamaha. So the ambiance is very casual.

Lono Blue is a hole in the wall run by the staff of a catering company. I was curious to try it because of their extensive menu. I tried the gyudon beef bowl, Sunday bento with mahi mahi, Okinawa pork belly, Japanese chilled ramen, housemade pork hash, futomaki, housemade kimichi, and tamago nigiri. Overall, I thought the quality of the food was subpar. I didn't enjoy any of the dishes except the housemade kimichi to be honest.

I literally had to stop in the middle of my meal to write this review because their food is that delicious. Lono Blue Kitchen is definitely worth the wait. I do recommend bringing patience with you though since it is evident that this is a pure small business. It appeared when we went that there was one person manning the kitchen and the front. Staff was clear about wait times though and that they check availability on certain items. For ambiance, there isn't a ton of seating available and it is open air. If you want to sit and dine, you may have to wait if another party is there already. There is street parking available so keep your eyes peeled when you're looking for a spot. Everything is seasoned so well. And the flavor profile that you're expecting with dishes like the takoyaki are delivered-which definitely makes the taste buds happy. Our katsu was crispy and didn't feel greasy.

This time I went with my friend and we basically ordered a pretty big survey of the menu. The thing that stood out is really good with the spring rolls with brown rice wraps. Full of fresh veggies and very tasty. I had a combination, salmon, tuna, almost like a poke bowl with some veggies and egg I'd say it was a 3 1/2 star item. We had the cabbage pancake, which reminded me of eating in Japan. And some potato croquettes which also we're pretty good.. the service was friendly. They were patient attentive, answered plenty of questions about the menu. The all the food was made fresh. They do have tables out to eat, but we chose to take our food to a park.

We got there right after opening and there were a handful of diners seated ahead of us and no wait. My perception was that it's a mom running it with her sons but I could be totally off here. The food is incredible, tasty, hot, flavorful and even customizable. And WOW IT IS GOOD! UMAMI the food is so perfectly crafted together. I had a spicy soup no egg, my husband a customized ramen, and my best friend had something or other. Pork bun was nice and I enjoyed the mayo ratio. Gyoza? Portions were great, at least for someone like me who really enjoys ramen and drinking down the broth like there's no tomorrow. The place has a nice mood inside where you can feel the Japanese influence radiating from the walls. Overall it's pretty neat and comfortable.

Aside from that overall very good. Also the presentation was very pretty and very appetizing to look at. Would recommend and would come back again.

Most known for their Teishoku (Set Meal) Trays that include Rice and Miso Soup. I got my favorite, Teishoku B which includes Teriyaki Steak, Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura, and a few slices of Ahi Sashimi. I wanted my steak Medium Well and it was perfectly done and the teriyaki sauce was a good balance of tangy and sweet. Pour a few drops of Shoyu on the Sashimi and dip it in the Hot Mustard sauce in the middle of the tray. The star of my tray is the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura. They fillet the shrimp so it was a HUGE shrimp tempura piece along with strands of carrots in tempura batter, tempura asparagus and a tempura eggplant. It was so crispy and tasty. I've been to Japan and this is Japan level tempura and the best on Maui, hands down. I came around 1 pm and they close at 1:30 pm and I got my order in 5 minutes with maybe 4-5 parties seated around me. The aunties were attentive and helpful. Make sure to visit this hidden Japanese gem for lunch or dinner!

Same nice Filipino lady is here, waiting tables. Same old school Japanese music playing overhead....nostalgic. -Salted cabbage is still ala carte. $3 a serving. Not salted enough and was watery. Added salt. -I'm a self proclaimed shoyu snob. I don't like using Aloha shoyu when eating Asian food. And that's exactly what they have here. *Sigh* -Miso soup came out piping hot. Not bad. But not a tofu in sight. -Ordered a Teishoku B $27 (Teri steak)and E $25 (fried ahi). My husband and I both agreed that the food was less oily compared to previous visits. His steak came our cooked as ordered. I like my fried fish a little salty. IMO, it's best when I'm crunching on hwn salt grains (IYKYK). So I did add a little salt. But other than that, the fish was great! -Again, wish I had Kikkoman shoyu on my rice and sashimi, hot mustard and fried ahi. Oh well. -Tempura was crispy and not burned. Comes with 1 shrimp, carrots, 1 green bean and a long thin slice of eggplant. Pretty sure the Teishoku's used to come with more tempura. 2 hrs later-both my husband and I have the WORST stomach issues. I'll spare you the details. Sorry TT, I wanted to love you, but my stomach says otherwise.

I really love katsu, so I got the Pork Katsu plate, which comes with a scoop of rice and your choice of side (I chose potato salad). I loved the crispiness of the pork katsu, it came nice and hot. The Japanese rice was carb heavy, just how I love it. The potato salad was good, although I typically crave a macaroni salad with my Hawaiian plated food. There was a huge line when I arrived, and I was afraid, very afraid. However, it was a bunch of people standing around who had already ordered (another sometimes bad sign). But, I actually ordered without any line, and those people quickly dissipated. My food probably came within 10 mins. In that 10 mins, we ate the poke first, then got our Ichiban order quickly after. The two restaurants are so close together by driving, that I would highly recommend pairing the two restaurants together, if you want to share food items, and try different Hawaiian things, without making an extra trek. Would definitely recommend it right after getting off the airplane too! I can't say it was worth driving here all the way from Kaanapali though, since there's nowhere to sit down. There's a parking lot right at the restaurant itself, and it's just to-go, but you are allowed to eat in the parking lot. So can't really say much about ambiance. The service was quick though, and credit card was allowed. Not bad.
