I've never eaten at the town location until now and it did not disappoint! To start, I really appreciate a sushi place that does deals on the actual sushi during happy hour. Not everywhere around here does that and it's the reason I came here instead of elsewhere. The rolls are made spectacularly, the food came quickly, and the service was great. Not a single complaint from me beyond the fact they keep it WAY too cold inside, just like the wailea location

Quality food, service, and bar-like ambiance. Oao Sushi is definitely not a place for the norm to enjoy; however, it does come with a financial cost. The rolls my friend and I got were great -- can't go wrong with soft shell crab and a rainbow roll to try tuna, yellowfin, salmon, and more. Like all seafood places in Maui, the fish quality is emaculate. The price here was less justified in my opinion considering you get less fish for a higher price. I would recommend someone go get poke instead of rolls here if there was the chance to. The service was smooth and the owner kept checking up on my friend and I. Pretty grateful for the service. The ambiance was refreshing considering my friend and I got seated at the bar side and could see the fish slicing in action. Purely considering my satisfaction per dollar, I would say I wouldn't go here considering the high price of food. Definitely not a bad place to go, but I would put this place as a backup before other options.

Oao Sushi Go has a limited selection, but each item has its own special identity. Packed full of flavor, well balanced, and the freshest you can get. Oao Sushi is providing a new wave of creating deicious sushi amd bringing it to your table. Service is great and staff members are friendly. Interior is very clean and organized. I recommend there lava roll and deep friend ice ceam. A must try when you visit the island of Maui

The sushi was so good! My favorite was the salmon aburi roll. I think the pricing is pretty fair, but if you go during happy hour it's like 30% off or so, but definitely worth it! Our waiter was so friendly and funny when he was checking on us! Told us to try the tuna Kizami wasabi roll next time. We hope to get him again as our waiter too! We sat outside and it was nice and cool out for lunch and it was spacious enough to talk amongst friends. Definitely recommend!

Vacationing in Hawaii and found this place on Yelp. In the Target Shopping center off to the side. Clean inside and Fast Service. Food came out quick and delicious.

This review is for the food truck location. They have a sit down place with a full bar not far from here. Fresh, delicious, melt in your mouth sashimi. Imaginative rolls. Sit at picnic tables under pop-ups. Stayed in Napili but made the drive. Nearby beaches can have rough waves.

We have been to this restaurant before when we visited Maui and it has absolutely outstanding sushi. The restaurant has a very nice casual upbeat vibe. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and unlike many sushi restaurants where you wait for a long time to get your food, the food came out very quickly. In addition to nigiri and sashimi, which was very fresh, we had several specialty rolls, including the white dragon roll and the firecracker roll, both were exceptionally good. Also, we happened to be fortunate enough to be eating during happy hour so the prices are slightly less than regular menu prices which is always a plus. While prices are not inexpensive, it's totally worth the price. This is a must go to place for sushi in Maui and was worth the hour drive from where we were staying.

Pro: Food is bomb! The quality of sushi is good! Customer service is awesome. The sushi chefs are friendly and take pride in their work. The menu is simple. Food is worth the price. Con: none

overall i had an okay experience at oao. food was good, but portions were small for the price. this place looks very high-end/fancy! we went for my friend's birthday and they came out with a complimentary dessert! nice place, but maybe not for me.

Currently my favorite spot on Maui for Sushi! First tried their sushi through their food truck that was in Kihei a couple years ago, and I couldn't believe the quality that came out from that food truck lol. Visited their wailea location and it was just as great, but it was so busy. Now they have their location here in Kahului and it's perfect! Service is quick, great happy hour, ambiance is lively, very clean, workers are so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back again soon!

I was a little skeptical getting sushi from a food truck, and frankly my skepticism was correct. The speciality rolls are $20+. I ordered two of them, can't remember which ones unfortunately. The rolls themselves just weren't great. They didn't taste bad, but honestly didn't taste good either. There wasn't really much flavor at all. They also didn't come with anything to actually pour soy sauce into, which made things a little difficult. I did order some salmon nigiri, which was actually quite large, and was ultimately probably a little better than the rolls.

Went here today for lunch. Have been wanting to try them out since they opened this location. I have been to the Wailea location before and have tried them as a food truck. The service was very good we were greeted at the front door and seated right away. Then our waiter came over and checked on us to see if we wanted anything besides water. It was nice because it seemed like everyone there were working together. The food was good the ambiance was nice. I Definitely like the variety of places to eat. On this trip we ordered the Brussel sprouts,Hamachi carpaccio, Soft Shell Crab Hand Roll, Baked Mussels. We enjoyed everything. My favorite was the Hamachi carpaccio , we also had a roll with hamachi and jalapeños. Which was delicious. The soft shell crab hand roll was a decent sized hand roll. So keep that in mind when ordering. Will definitely be back to try out some other menu items.

My husband and I took our retired pastors to Maui to renew our 40th anniversary and their 50th wedding anniversary. When we landed, I found this place on yelp. So we had breakfast here. Wow! So good. The food, the service. Not a large place, but at the time it wasn't busy and we got to sit down. After touring the big island the week before, then here on Maui we all decided that faithful grinds was our favorite place to dine. Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious and made with love. So on the way back home to fly out we all decided we need to go back. Again so good not busy, until later the line was out the door. So glad we got to eat before our flight. They all feel like family to me. I even posted a photo of the two gals working the front with me. It's like we could be cousins. The place is truly a small hole in the wall with the feel of the islands. I would totally come back every time I fly down. I recently noticed that people have been complaining due to seating. Why complain? So glad they are blessed and doing so well that they are so busy. Unfortunately for us once I post this review, they'll most likely get even more people lining out the door. That what happened to our favorite sushi place in Seattle. Once I posted a review, you can barely get reservations. Blessings to you all faithful grinds. Until we meet again! Aloha

But, the biz didn't answer their phone. All I got was the automated "voicemail not set up" pre-recorded message. A coworker called, same thing. Another coworker chimed in and said to order online but I was apprehensive to do so if they weren't actually open. She then called and actually got through, but got yelled at and scolded, told they're busy and to order online and even hung up on her. Really? I get it that everybody is short staffed, so why not activate your voicemail with a greeting to "order online" or just answer the phone cordially and relay the message? How can you treat customers like this, let alone locals who are your bread & butter? OVERALL: If service isn't good, I can't continue to patronize or recommend a place no matter how good the food is. I welcome this second biz, to my new collection, "Bad Service".

The service was normal, there was no pave to eat inside you so order at a fake out window. It was hot and no place to sit down and eat. You had to buy and eat inside your car or take it somewhere else. Chicken Mochoco was super flavorful and crispy. I loved the ingredients they had and they fried their chicken. The sauce was a little saucy and I would have gotten rice instead of garlic noodles which were underwhelming. Overall 4/5 for chicken mochoko. The dry mein and Saimen were mid. Not great. Not terrible but I would order something else. It was also expensive for those two dishes and so I would appropriately price those and the food was generic with those two ordered. Would I return, if I was hungry and in the area the Mochoco Chicken was good. But I didn't have any time to try anybting else. The Saimen and Dry Mein were Gm very very generic. So that's why I gave it a 5 stars. I know to go orders is popular in Maui and it's more expensive to open a store so I would recommend investing in one where people can really enjoy your food. Probably can charge more!

We've been coming here for years and I've always enjoyed my experiences here, but last night I had a dish that compelled me to write a review. The oxtail soup which is listed as a favorite is a dish I've been eyeing for a while, but it's usually been too warm for me to crave it. But last night was the night. I'm getting over a cold and it's been raining off and on for weeks. The bowl arrived at the table with a plate underneath - smart move because it takes some work to eat oxtail soup. Armed with my fork and spoon, I went at it. The first taste floored me. It was perfectly seasoned and I could taste the fresh ginger, the broth was a beautiful brown color, there was plenty of napa cabbage and it came with a dish of a scoop of glossy steamed rice and steamed carrots, zucchini and broccoli. Our waitress offered to bring over condiments so I went for the soy sauce - sprinkled on the rice and veggies, I noticed that the veggies might have had a little sesame oil flavor on them so that made me happy. A spoonful of rice dunked into the broth with some of the tender fall of the bone oxtail meat, and a little crunch of the napa cabbage and I was in absolute heaven. I tasted my husband's pork adobo and that was equally as delicious as always. But that soup - that's what really did it for me last night and stays with me today.
