We spent 5 days on a Luna Class boat from here. We had a great time on our vacation but there are…read moresome issues. First of all, everyone that we dealt with was super nice and very helpful. The man that did the safety talk about the boat and the tutorial was thorough and friendly. The man that boarded at the end of the trip to steer us in was friendly. The women that helped us off load were all terrific. We had no problems with the staff. We had a lot of fun on the lake and rivers. There's a map in the boat that is very helpful and you can map out your trip and decide where you want to go. Mechanically, the houseboat ran very well and we had no problems with any of the systems. My husband is an experienced boater but he felt it was easy to drive and we felt safe at all times. The air conditioner and generator worked well. There were parts of the boat that were in disrepair. Some lights didn't work, some lights didn't have covers. One toilet leaked. The horn on the boat didn't work. The fans in the rooms rattled loudly. Some doors didn't lock. There is an attached slide. We felt it was unsafe. One of our teenagers went down it and it landed him right off the side of the boat - much too close for comfort. We didn't let anyone else go down it. The beds are absolutely horrible. They are incredibly uncomfortable. You expect the rooms to be small, so that's okay. But, the beds are like sleeping on a board. The mattresses are thin - only a few inches and of very poor quality. The mattresses in the loft area (2 of them) are also thin and on the floor. Just mattresses - no bed. Of course, the loft areas are only about 4 feet tall - but still. There are 5 "beds" total. They are deemed as Queen size - but 3 of them are more doubles. The loft area mattresses are bigger. Also, the 3 beds that are in staterooms are extremely short. If you are more than 5'10" - these beds are too small for you. There is not enough room for people to sit in the seating area. There's one couch for three people. Other people have to sit in dining room chairs - no big deal but seating is seriously lacking considering it's supposed to be for 10 people. The website indicates that this boat has a Blu Ray. It does not! We spent $50 to rent Blu Ray movies for our trip to arrive and find out that it had a DVD player - NOT a Blu Ray. We complained at checkout and they said, "Oh, that's too bad..." Then they gave my husband two free glasses with their logo on them... Okay. (shrug) Speaking of the website - it's a mess. There's so much conflicting information on it that we didn't know what to believe. It tells you that you can't be there before 3 pm. They close at 7 pm. We planned our travel time from Seattle to arrive between those times. They started calling us at 4:30 to say we were late. They said they were expecting us AT 3 pm. We arrived at 5:30 and all of the people that do the boater education - that you have to do before you can take the boat out - had gone home so we had to stay in the dock the first night. It was fine with us, we didn't care - it gave us time to get settled. But, I think other people would be upset about this miscommunication. There are so many things on the website that are just so unclear and that are contradicted on other parts of the website. When we arrived back on our last day, they were in a mad rush to get us off the boat because people were waiting to get on - this was at 10:30 in the morning. Luckily, we were all ready with everything packed and ready to go - so just make sure you are ready to walk off the boat when you get back. Anyway, we made the best of things and we had a great time despite the failures of the boat and miscommunications of the company. We will definitely houseboat again - but we probably won't return here. We felt the customer service is lacking. We felt, for the price we paid, the boat was not up to standards we would expect as far as comfort and amenities.

This place was absolutely terrible! My fiancee and I had an appointment to meet with Ken at 10 AM…read more We were told that we could see the house boats and they would provide information for house rentals on the lake. When we got there the woman working upfront told us the boats were all at a different location 30 miles away, we asked why Ken would make an appointment if the boats weren't available to view, she replied "Why don't you ask him yourself?" she then walked in the back (we could hear them talking) and he said "As you can see I am busy cleaning the bathroom, get their name and ph# and I will contact them back or reschedule"... Really? you knew we were from Seattle and planned the trip over to collect information for our wedding. These guys are the worst! I hope this saves someone their Sunday.

We have rented one of Gary and Trinette's boats every year…read more We also rented from Kevin, another of their family members who had boats out in Hope. This family has always taken care of us and our guests. We rent the pontoon boats and they are always clean, filled up, and everything in working order. Respect their equipment, stay away from sand bars and keep an eye out for the occasional flotsam, and enjoy a great time!

We had an outstanding time renting a boat from Sandpoint water sports!…read more We rented a pontoon for the entire day and Gary and his crew were nothing short of spectacular. We have rented boats in other areas, and you can tell this team goes the extra mile to make sure things are comfortable. The boat was clean, new, and had a cover, which was great for the heat and had amazing storage. They have really close parking and tons of it for free. No stress. In addition, they also have wheel barrows to help get all of your gear into the boat really quickly. Gary and his team made sure we knew all of the features of the boat prior to departing. Bluetooth, air pump for floaties, enough life jackets for everyone and additional for water sports at no additional charge. We boated all day long and didn't have to worry about filling up, we were able to take it back at the end of the day, pass it off and head out within minutes of docking the boat. I would choose this place hands down every time. The 5 minute additional drive is worth it with all of the ease that comes from renting from here!

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! The old lady is a cranky unprofessional! She rented us a Broken old boat,…read morethe speedometer and gas gauge was not working! I came back and asked for compensation and her reply was...I had 10K put into repairs and new propeller no one else complained last 5 days. I said I dont care about the last 5 days...Im telling you it is not working. She legit walked away. I was calmly speaking to her and just walked away. When I originally walked up and asked where to check in to a stranger, he said right there and good luck! The gas attendant at the marina said he had 5 other boat rentals complain about this old lady. Not a good experience at all.

We stayed at the queen suite at the Blue Diamond Marina for a long weekend, and it was fabulous!…read more The owner Carolyn has an eye for detail - the suite was lovely, modern with scenic decorations, with several extra amenities I hadn't expected - even something as simple as a second suitcase stand -- how obvious but never have I had that before. The kitchen had a full refrigerator and was even stocked with spices. The view from the suite is panoramic and breathtaking. You get a whole semi-circle of windows facing the lake and marina, and it's fun to watch the boats come and go. One day we rented a small boat and it was nearly new, in immaculate condition. The grounds are beautiful with many many flowers everywhere, and rope lights around the grounds at night. We also enjoyed riding the local dirt roads on our bikes - very scenic rides available. The bed was luxuriously soft, so if you need a firm mattress, just do what we did and bring a camping mattress just in case - plenty of room to spread that out if needed.

They had plenty of parking spots on both sides of the street and a woman at the Marina directed us across the street to the grey "Rentals" building. The attendant quickly handled the paperwork and gave us a walkthrough of the boat. As a first time wave boat driver (only pontoons previously), I particularly appreciated his attention to detail and his eagerness to answer any questions I had. We had a great day on the lake! The boat was well equipped with plenty of life jackets and sport accessories (tube, wake boards, surf boards, skis, etc). The lake itself was in great shape, with fairly minimal traffic for a holiday. The marina is easy access for anyone in the Coeur d'Alene area and well described as a "hidden gem". (We've rented on Lake Coeur d'Alene and Lake Pend Oreille previously - both great lakes, just a lot busier). This was our first time renting from Hayden Lake Marina and we'll definitely be doing so again. Tip: Be sure to confirm the checkout process with your attendant. When I came back there was no one at the rental building and it took a few minutes to figure out what to do.
