What a wonderful stay, we did an overnight before a cruise, leaving June 3. Rowan and Brian were here to greet us last night when we checked! They gave us so many suggestions for food we did a city tour of food! Tim Hortons for a cup of coffee, I had never been to one, then onto Japadog and finished at Sala Thai! Rowan and Brian were awesome! We had a beautiful view of the harbor! Will definitely stay again we needed more time! read more

Service was friendly besides the front desk attendant. I would say he was abrupt and short. Didn't feel super warm and friendly. But I will say we were able to check in early and that was amazing to get a toddler down for nap! The room was clean and the views were absolutely stunning. Parking was super expensive but we were downtown so I guess that's to be expected! The bed was also really comfortable! All in all we would definitely stay again. Oh and breakfast was great! Our favorite part was the fruit toppings for the waffles! Delicious. read more

Not fancy, but it is a great place to stay when visiting Vancouver. Unsurpassed location adjacent to Stanley Park and downtown. Walking distance to wide variety of eateries (Vancouver is so cosmopolitan!) and aquarium. These are suites so there is a small master bedroom, small kitchen, fold out sofa bed and a tiny office off the front hallway. The extra room was great because it served as a mudroom if you will. We put all of our shoes/coats etc there during our stay. The indoor balcony area is awesome! We opted to upgrade to a suite with a view and I would highly recommend that. Beautiful view of the park and Vancouver. Staff were super friendly and there is complimentary covered parking plus free breakfast that includes waffles, pastries, cereal, juice, coffee, yogurt. I'm not sure if we would want to stay anywhere else when visiting Vancouver. read more

An affordable and clean, basic hotel with an excellent staff. Unsurpassed service. David is manager, evening desk clerk, and you won't find a more enthusiastic concierge service or welcome each time you walk in the front door. Eva, the morning desk clerk was also very helpful. Both of them really made the extra effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay in Vancouver, and helped us plan our outings. We enjoyed a nice harbor view with our standard room. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. Underground, gated parking. The layout is odd. Our standard room had a small bedroom with a queen and a dresser, a small living room with a sofa, TV, and kitchen, a small glassed in patio, a tiny office, and a decent bathroom with tub/shower. Including the bathroom, that's 5 rooms - 6 if you count the kitchen separately, and it feels very dated. They need to knock down some walls and open this up a bit. The living room has an ancient monstrosity of an air conditioner - I haven't seen one this big since I was a kid in the 60's. It has a big tube that been taped to a window, and it was making a heck of a racket when we arrived. We turned it off and never needed it, but it still was a big, hulking eyesore. The bedroom had only one very dim light - not sufficient for reading. Super soft bath towels. Could sometimes hear traffic noise, but never once heard noise from other rooms. Surprisingly quiet. Maybe all the extra walls work as sound barriers. The complimentary breakfast was only okay. The same make-your-own waffle maker that is common in hotels, plus raisin bran, granola, various breads, bagels, muffins, Danish, and similar standard offerings. The staff outperforms the building, and that's what pushes this up to 4 stars. We'd stay here again without hesitation. read more

Absolutely recommend!! Awesome staff, incredibly friendly and helpful. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Parking included and they even let us stay parked after checkout so we could walk to the Vancouver Aquarium without having to find new parking. Incredibly kind. Loved our room, everything was perfect. Good rates too. Will always stay here if we visit again. The location was beyond ideal for walking to restaurants and to Stanley Park. Legitimately one of the highlights of our time in Vancouver!! read more

Sad to say, Lord Stanley has changed their business model to extended stay only. My family had been staying at Lord Stanley during Boxing week for the past 18 years and it has truly been a treat. The staff has never failed to be courteous and friendly; this place was our home away from home, and they became like our extended family. Upon arrival, we had to wait 25 min to check in, the front desk clerk was extremely slow, and caused us late to be late to the party we came for. Luckily one lady let us check in before her or we would have missed our boat. It took so long to check in that we never made it to our room, we just parked and left our bags in the car. Our party ended late, we arrived back at the hotel by 2am, and realized the room number wasn't on the key card. So we had to go to the front desk again. The room itself was very basic and dated. I did however love the balcony. The bed was advertised as a queen.... it was a double. Too small for my husband and I. I gave up sleeping in the bed quickly and went to the couch, as it was extremely late I didn't make up. the convertible. Couch got very uncomfortable as well and I ended up sleeping on the floor!!!!! We checked out as soon as possible in the morning. We spent a total of 8 hours in the room. Mostly sleep and shower. We got checked out at 9am. I got a call from the front desk at 10:30 same day once we got home saying the housekeeping said we lost the remote to the tv we didn't watch. We never even saw a remote to begin with! I told the clerk that I better not be charged! The only good thing about this place was the manager David. He was extremely polite. He even knew who I was upon our first meet. we will not be coming back here. read more

Great location, right next to Stanley Park and Coal Harbor. Amazing view from the higher floors. Nice suites with full kitchen. We stayed on the 13th floor, and enjoyed breathtaking views throughout the day. Some people complained about traffic noise, but we didn't get much noise. The main thing I missed is food - if they had a kitchen this palce would be perfect. The other thing I missed - WiFi! This place has only wired Internet connections. Seriously, who doesn't have WiFi these days?? read more

As a family, we have stayed at the Lord Stanley approximately 15 times on our annual summer vacation to Vancouver -- from the time our teenagers were toddlers. Here's why we keep coming back . . . The location is perfect for leaving your car parked in the basement and exploring the city by bicycle. The West End restaurant scene is fantastic for all tastes. Also a large grocery store, pharmacy, liquor stores and even a medical clinic are just a block or two away. We've needed all over the years. Stanley park, with its beaches, trails, aquarium is just steps away. Need a pool? The lovely public pool at Second Beach in Stanley Park is a 10-minute walk. Almost all the rooms have a good view and we like having a separate bedroom and let the kids sleep on the hide-a-bed sofa. Also, we take advantage of the in-room washer and dryer when we arrive after several days of camping and activities on Vancouver Island. Although this is a minimalist hotel, the staff has been great in recent years. Housekeeping has been good about keeping us stocked. Over the years the Lord Stanley seems to have made an effort to hire friendly people. But then there's David Anderson, who welcomes us (and everybody else) like we are his special guests. This place was okay, very run down. We booked it for the kitchenette but they didn't have many supplies for using the kitchen. For example, we called to ask if there were any cookie sheets or baking dishes...really anything that we could use in the oven but they had nothing. So essentially the oven is unusable. The dishwasher racks kept falling off. The key to the room was very frustrating, it took at least 8-10 tries to work. Can't beat the location though. And the staff were pretty friendly. read more

Lord Stanley Hotel in Vancouver BC Canada Lord Stanley Strata Corp Management Company When i escalated an issue to the manager (Wendy Krasovec) and then to the management company (Michael Tham) i was told not to expect a call back for 2 weeks! Then they simply said there was nothing they could or would do to resolve my issue ... Like the many others who have had bad experiences here, i would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Ever..and if you do go there, i would be very careful to make sure all your belongings are packed safely away as you leave... Terrible follow up to any concerns you may have.. A very unsatisfying experience to say the least. read more

This is a hotel that's really apartments. You get a full kitchen, office, amazing views and a free breakfast. Breakfast is mostly pastries and coffee. Super great location. Tons of restaurants and a market within walking distance and right at the entrance to Stanley Park. Probably not great for families as the bed is small and then a pull out couch. read more

Always stay here when on business or with the family. All one bedroom suites with kitchens, office space, living room and either a deck or a sun porch. All magically shrunk down to Vancouver size. Great location one block to robson half block to Denman and the park. Great if you jog bike or walk the seawall. read more

I have stayed at Lord Stanley 3 times in the last 14 years. Well, in the last 14 years nothing has changed inside the suites. It is dated. This past weekend, we were there with our friends on last minute getaway. *One of the two elevators was out of service, so it took a long time to get to the 12th floor. *They did not provide paper towels in the kitchen, we had to use tissue paper to dry or wipe things down. *Parking was $20 per day. *WiFi was $10 per day. (Luckily, they waived this fee) *Oh, there was a giant A.C. unit hooks up to the window that was extremely loud. Overall, the location is excellent but hotel can use major improvement cosmetically. read more

Noisy, right on Georgia Street. The wi-fi was so spotty it was unusable. Rooms are small so that you're tripping over each other. Kitchen appliances were broken - how much does it cost to replace a coffee maker? There are better places to stay for less in the area. read more

This place is great. The location is the best option for walkers. It's not even a minute from Lord Stanley Park and the Sea Wall, and it's a nice 20 minute walk to the City Centre Train station. The room was fine: a one-bedroom suite with kitchen. The electricity was a little scary, with one outlet having a burn mark and with flickering lights. The view was outstanding. Breakfast on the balcony looking at the mountains, geese, harbor, and park? Yes, please! The manager, David, is the BEST. He's helpful, really friendly, and truly Canadian, eh? Only downside, no free Wi-Fi with my rental, but I guess it's free with others. Clean, safe neighborhood, great amenities, good breakfast! read more

The hotel room was nice and very clean, had a separate room for the parents and a comfortable pullout bed for the kids, a stove, oven, sink, office, all the comforts of home. The continental breakfast was a life saver after a late night out. The coffee was good and hot, and the food, although very basic, was fresh and abundant. The lady in charge of the breakfast was super friendly and helpful. The hotel guest clerk named Tad went above and beyond, removing his very own belt and cutting it to fit my husband, after he had forgotten his at home! Wonderful customer service all around! This place needs to change its name from Lord to Court Jester. The non smoking rooms smelt like a chain smokers car. When I complained about it to the front desk they moved us to a different room. The new room smelled exactly like the first one. When I complained the second time, the front desk lady offered to change the sheets in the room. Ummm where they not clean to begin with?! The free WiFi was non existent so using your laptop for work is not going to happen. The only TV is placed right next to the noisy ac unit and its not even in the bedroom. When I finally had the chance to speak to the manager David, he said the guests are always right but in this case your not! We didn't even stay the night, after 4 hours of horrible customer service we were rescued by The Burrard Hotel. They saved our vacation. Do yourself a favor and do not book at this place. The view means nothing if you can't breathe in your room. read more

This really is a minimalist hotel. There's a complimentary continental breakfast but we never tried it since we have food allergies and the small kitchen in our room enabled us to have breakfast without venturing downstairs. I say minimalist but that really isn't a bad thing if you know that going in. What this hotel has going for it is a great location - practically in Stanley Park and near Robson Street that has a plethora of shopping and restaurant options. There are 2 grocery stores within a 5 - 10 minute walk so it's easy to stock up the fridge. We had a suite on the 6th floor with a solarium and a nice view. Another review mentioned that the decor is a bit dated and I have to agree but to me the convenience and location win out. The washer and dryer were super handy (although our dryer took about 2 hours to dry a small load of clothes!) and free parking was great. The people we encountered at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. All around a good option when staying in Vancouver. read more

Chose the value suite because I was only here over night and didn't need much. No complaint with the room rather the location, directly above a major thoroughfare with nonstop traffic. Didn't know enough or seen reviews about the constant noise of the "East-facing suites feature a "West End" or neighbourhood view". Can't speak of any other spot in the place but if you value sleep do not stay here. read more

We loved this place. We had a one bedroom suite with a sofa sleeper in the living room, a sun room, and an office. My daughter just enjoyed the sun room and I personally enjoyed the little office where I could do work while the rest of my family enjoyed the vacation. This place was so close to everything: the park, restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, etc. The management was great. The typical continental breakfast was perfect for us. read more
