Dr. Floyd is kind and extremely qualified. She is highly efficient with glasses and contact exams and patient with my anxiety around the question "Which one is clearer?" (I had an eye doctor get frustrated with me during the exam process as a child, and I still get anxious thinking I am wasting their time if I ask her to show me the slides again.) I am aware this is a "me" problem, but a problem nonetheless, and Dr. Floyd calms me down by patiently showing me the slides again and not showing frustration so I don't get so nervous anymore. My prescriptions are always perfect for both contacts and glasses, and I look forward to hopefully being able to do LASIK with her someday. For such a sensitive procedure, I trust her completely. The front office staff I usually interact with (Sarah and Erica) are informative and helpful. Sarah usually conducts my pre-exam eye checks (puff of air, peripheral vision test, etc), and she is the BEST at distracting and moving through the tests quickly so that this is not tortuous like it always has been for me at other places. The frames here are gorgeous (name brands, lots of variety and sunglasses too), but you will not find a cheap pair of glasses here. I usually find a pair for under $300 to be specific. Insurance is key. The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stats is because I wish the office had more of a welcoming feel- the overall tone is business first. This may work well for you because everyone is nice, professional and excellent at the medical side of their jobs. Appointments are quick, and I have never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. read more

Pros: like the doctor. Very kind and good. Seems like they have up to date equipment. Nice options for frames. Cons (unfortunately outweighing the pros): even with insurance, frames and lenses feel overpriced. Wait time for glasses was wild last year. I think it almost took two months to get glasses. Support staff can be passive aggressive. Every time I called to check up on them, I felt gaslit as if I was being problematic. Straw that broke the camel's back: had a crazy week. Forgot about the 3:30 appointment. They called at 3:36. I apologized for missing but said I lived 4 minutes away and could be there by 3:40 -- 10 minutes late. They said, no, they have a 5 minute buffer but 10 minutes is too long because they stack patients. (After waiting for 2 months for glasses last year, I was chided for being 10 minutes late for an appointment.) Yeah, no -- going to find a new place. I don't need that kind of vibe in my life. read more

Everyone was so nice and helpful. Checked me in right away, pleasant when I couldn't find my paper insurance card and got locked out of my online account... The receptionist was super nice and didn't make me feel rushed when I was figuring that out. Relaxing and positive energy throughout. Felt comfortable doing the initial eye exam with her assistant then again when Dr. Floyd came for the rest of it. Both were pleasant and easy to talk to. Another lady helped me figure out which frames to get. She struck a nice balance between giving helpful suggestions/commenting on my choices and giving me space to just try things on over and over again and stare at my face. She answered all my questions and helped me figure out pricing of a few frames with my insurance. And even though she told me twice how the credits worked, she was nice about doing the calculations for me when I forgot the numbers again. I also appreciated that she helped me find something that worked for my budget without trying to upsell me. Overall great experience. Moved to the area several years ago, & needed an optometrist. Dr. Floyd is always patient, answers any questions I have, and gives great care. I've had a few issues with my glasses & the turnaround time. Last time my prescription changed, I got new frames. it was over 3 weeks before I called to ask if they were in. I was initially told the manufacturer lost my frames , then I was told the frames were on back order and less than 2 hours after that, I got a text that my lenses & frames were ready, & the lab personally delivered them that day. Although I can't be 100% sure, I truly believe they gave me their display frames, popped my new lenses inside & charged my insurance for brand new frames. New frames from the manufacturer come in their own cases & cloths , these were in cases from Dr. Floyd's office, along with their office cloth. Needless to say, as much as I like Dr. Floyd, I don't think I'll return after my last experience, as it left a very sour taste in my mouth. Gave 4 stars because I truly liked Dr. Floyd, but the staff, the runaround 2 times, and the mix up with my glasses was enough for me to find another optometrist. read more

Staff at Dr. Floyd's office were friendly and terrific at their job! Dr. Floyd herself is a terrific optometrist, and answered the questions I had. Her office has top tier designer eyewear and I was given different pricing for two different options that I could have gone with. The only downside is can take 2-3 weeks to get my new glasses, but this was partially due to the upcoming holiday. I highly recommend this office and you are made to feel important, and not just another cow mooing in line amongst all the others. read more
