From the moment we arrived, Dr. Truong treated my mother with the utmost respect, patience, and genuine care. She took the time to make sure my mother felt comfortable throughout the appointment and never rushed the process. It meant a lot to see a physician show that level of compassion and professionalism. Dr. Truong was also extremely thorough during the eye examination. She carefully evaluated my mother's vision and eye health and took the time to explain everything in a clear and helpful way. She provided a lot of valuable information that helped us better understand my mother's eye health and what to look out for moving forward. I was told it was "express," yet it took over a week, and I never received a call when it was ready. I had to follow up multiple times. Communication was dismissive and stressful. Calls were short and rude in tone, and I was repeatedly asked to come in on very short notice despite explaining that I work most of the time. When I finally received my glasses, one leg was a completely different color and noticeably longer than the other. I was never told this would happen. On top of that, the glasses were returned dirty, with fingerprints all over the lenses and frame. When I called to say I was unhappy with the mismatched colors, I was told it would cost an additional $65 to fix something I was never warned about in the first place. These were my favorite frames, and I wanted to wear them to my best friend's wedding. Now I won't be wearing them at all. I felt misled and disappointed and would not recommend this business.

Extremely Unsanitary and Unprofessional Experience - Resulted in Eye Infection…read more I went to Dr. Zia at the Optometry at The Shops in Mission Viejo for a simple routine eye exam and unfortunately ended up with a severe eye infection. Within a day, my eyelid became swollen, painful, and red. I have since had to see both my primary care doctor and an eye specialist, who confirmed the infection and prescribed antibiotics. Despite treatment, the swelling and discomfort have persisted for several days (photos attached show the progression). During my exam, I observed very poor hygiene practices -- no handwashing before touching my eyes and no visible cleaning of tools between patients, eye drops used but cannot be sure how clean and new it was. When I brought this up after chafing my my primary care that I for sure picked up an eye infection my concerns were dismissed they tried to blame it on other things AfterwardsI reached out to provide feedback and explain that I didn't feel comfortable having my exam given the outcome and several mistakes during the exam (including entering the wrong astigmatism axis). A staff member named James initially offered to reverse the charge so I could go elsewhere, but the office later refused and billed my insurance anyway. When I later spoke with Dr. Zia, she confused me with another patient named ("Zaineb"), gave inconsistent explanations, and seemed unsure who she was speaking to, even though she is the one who called me back, which was very unsettling. Between the poor hygiene, few mistakes on the exam, and refusal to take accountability, this was the most unprofessional medical experience I've ever had. I'm sharing this review, along with photos, to warn others to be extremely cautious before booking an appointment here.

I brought them back and after attempts at adjusting the frames the salesperson remarked the lenses so that the reading portion of the lens was higher. I waited another week and a half and the lenses are the same. I have to hold them up to read. So the great price isn't so great if they don't allow me to read.
