Lori altered my wedding dress for my August wedding exactly as I envisioned! She's incredibly sweet and felt like a second mother to me. I got to know her during each dress fitting and she has become my new go-to gal for all future alterations. Her prices are also so affordable and she genuinely cared about making sure I felt comfortable in my dress before the big day. Thank you Lori and your DIL Mary for the beautiful veil also. You both truly went above and beyond and I am forever thankful!

**As mentioned in several reviews, Lori changed her business name and location but has had excellent reviews for previous business** Lori is amazing ! I came to her to get my wedding dress altered and she gave me excellent service. She's very flexible with time and honestly on top of all the requests I had asked of her. She's also got that motherly love customer service and I adore her so much ! Thank you so much Lori !! P.S. it's better to reverse into the driveway for easier departure from her house. Service - 5 / Price - 5

Sundress that she altered the sleeve and added an elastic!

Lori has such an honest and sweet personality and has a very keen eye for detail. I like to come here because she is very nice, attentive and she does a great job. Came here to get my bridesmaid dress altered for the length and straps. Lori did such a great job that I brought over a sundress that I initially wanted to get hemmed but she convinced me to keep the length and instead adjust the sleeves and added an elastic band to the waist so it would not drag so much on the floor... turned out better than I could have visioned and I am so happy with my sundress! Pricing: very reasonable and the cost is fair for what she does Parking: is limited but we called in advanced and we were able to park in the front in the driveway I would definitely recommend her to those who want anything altered and I will come back to have other outfits altered.

**Please note that this was previously Elegant Design Boutique off Steven's Creek/Monroe, across from Valley Fair Mall. Lori has had years of experience. But due to store name and location changes, she lost many previous Yelp reviews from over the years** I got my wedding dress altered by Lori in 2017 for my wedding and everything was amazing and very reasonably priced. She also altered several of my bridesmaids' dresses, and I send everyone I know in the area her way. She is very sweet, listens well, and does great work, and the turnaround time is amazing.

I found Lori's Alterations through yelp and I am so happy that I chose to get my wedding dress altered by her. Lori was so kind and helpful. She made me fall even more in love with my dress. The fit was perfect and I honestly couldn't have asked for anything else. I was originally quoted $1800 elsewhere, but Lori went above and beyond for under $600.

Alterations by Lori! Loved my wedding dress.

How much for Jean alterations? And how would I be able to make an appointment to get the alterations done?

$10-15 for hem. Please call our listed number to make an appointment, thank you!

Me again, when can you have the jeans ready by if my mom drops them off today? -M

Unfortunately I won’t be able to take them today due to prior appointments. The soonest I can take them is Monday and they can be done as soon as Tuesday.

Hey Lori, I live very close to your alterations shop and was wondering if I could get my jeans hemmed, I was wondering can I just drop them off and pay when I pick them up? And do you accept Apple Pay?…

Hello, yes that’s fine. I don’t accept Apple Pay yet, I accept credit card, cash, and Venmo.

Hi:) do you do alterations on jeans and blazers?

    Hello, yes I do

Some advice for parking is to call ahead to make sure she is not busy as there are only 2 parking spots in her driveway available.

I've brought in plenty of pants for tapering, shortening, taking in the waist, etc. Last winter I brought in pants that were off the rack and a little long with a 32 length. As usual, I tried them on with shoes and Kim helped measured the length to shorten and I picked them up a week later. Super quick process. I didn't try them on at pickup since I had a lot of work done by her previously so I had no reason to doubt her work. Unfortunately I went 3 months without wearing them but when I did, they were still far too long so I had to bring them in again. I explained the situation and when she examined the pants, she told me it was still the factory stitching so there wasn't any work done by her or any other tailor. I was surprised by that, and that she didn't recognize her own work. I assured her I brought them in just a few months prior. When she remeasured the length, she marked to pants to shorten another 1 1/8 in. She said that she always cuts the length requested by customers and so it was my fault and had to pay again for work on the pants. I have all my pants around 29 inseam so this obviously was not accurate and rather annoying she tried to blame me for the incorrect length since she was the one who previously measured. I needed them done so I went ahead. I didn't want to leave a review about this but the following experience was embarrassing and needed to share. I recommended her shop to a friend who needed to shorten the length of 2 curtains but had a horrible experience. At pickup, Kim casually mentioned that 1 of the curtains were already damaged at drop-off and that she decided to do a free patching for the damage. My friend was not notified of any damage prior to pickup, and furious there wasn't any sort of communication. She couldn't even return the "already damaged" curtains because of Kim's unilateral decision to patch the hole. I felt responsible so I sent my friend $600 to cover the cost of curtains. If there was truly damage already, why wouldn't you inform the customer first to decide options?! This used to be my go to tailor but it's now on my blacklist.

My wedding was in February 2026, but I was still in the process of losing weight. I initially reached out to her in December, and she recommended that I contact her again in January since I was still working on losing a few more pounds. By the time I saw her in mid-to-late January, I brought in my ceremony dress, reception dress, wedding event dress, and even my mom's dress for alterations. She offers great pricing and gives her honest opinion about what looks best. She is super responsive, professional, and incredibly understanding. Just a heads up--she works out of her home. Thao was so accommodating that she continued making last-minute adjustments right up until the week of my wedding because I was still losing those final few pounds! She even showed me how to bustle both dresses (although I ended up not using the bustles--haha). A huge thank you to Thao for helping make everything fit perfectly. I highly recommend her to any future brides!
