I explained concerns from a previous experience here solely to clarify my preferences and ensure a good stylist match. Instead of asking follow-up questions or discussing fit, he made a snap judgment that I "wouldn't like it here," refused to explain his reasoning, and abruptly ended the call. Declining a client is one thing; doing so without explanation and hanging up is another, ESPECIALLY when at no point did I talk or behave in a way that was inappropriate, or out of line. I did my due diligence as a client. I was consistently polite, never lodged formal complaints, never criticized stylists directly for their work, and compensated fairly with tips regardless of personal preference or outcome. Being abruptly told that I'm not a good fit there by a receptionist/"manager" who is not the service provider and does not have firsthand involvement in the stylist-client relationship is not only disproportionate and inappropriate but a role violation. While I understand that businesses may set boundaries when a client crosses a line, that was not the case here. The decision to cut off service without prior discussion, warning, or involvement from the stylist themselves was uncalled for, completely baseless, and outside of his role. This is outside of his authority to make this abrupt subjective judgement call. His conduct falls below acceptable ethical, moral and professional standards. A qualified manager would have asked what didn't work previously and determined whether the salon could meet those expectations. That conversation never happened. This action was extreme, beyond unjustified, especially given that no complaint was being made at the time and no misconduct had occurred Sharing this for others who value respectful communication and professional consultation when booking services.

I specifically asked for my hair to be dyed back to a natural brown shade, but the final result turned completely black, which was not what I requested at all. This was not my first time getting a Brazilian Blowout or coloring my hair, but it was definitely my worst experience. The stylist was extremely rude, aggressive, and unprofessional when I politely asked about the color and checked my hair. Instead of communicating respectfully, she raised her voice and made the experience very uncomfortable. On top of that, the Brazilian Blowout left my hair with a very strong chemical smell that has been unbearable. I expected professional results and respectful customer service, but unfortunately, this salon did not meet those standards.

I started getting blond balayage highlights from Mikah back in the summer of 2012 when I was a junior in college in Colorado. My highlights were super subtle at the time and looked gorgeous; I was instantly hooked. I then continued to get my highlights and haircut done by Mikah every couple of months or so when I would come home for the holidays. Then, after about a year of holding off to do my hair ONLY when I would fly back to Houston from Colorado, I caved in and got my highlights done somewhere else in Colorado. What a mistake. I thought to myself, after I graduate I'm not going to be able to afford to get great highlights so I need to learn how to go a cheaper route. Wow, I was so wrong. The person went WAY too light and gave me almost white hair and when my roots grew out it looked awful. That Christmas break (2013) I went back to Mikah and she welcomed me with open arms and fixed me with one appointment. (As you can see in the BEFORE/AFTER picture where my hair is WAY too blonde and then looks perfect b/c Mikah saved me). I then moved to DC and after tried to get my blonde balayage highlights done with someone who cost $350... again... the results were disastrous and the cut was awful. Again I came back to Mikah and she fixed me up- she even offered to call other salons in my area in DC to make sure that they knew what they were doing and would not mess up my hair...but I'd learned my lesson. I either get my highlights done by Mikah or I wait until I can. You can trust Mikah with your highlights.
