    Layers for days..

I've been fortunate to find an incomparable artist, Lindsey is an exceptional hairstylist. Her style of cutting is unique and fashion-oriented. She recently refreshed my layers and I am more than pleased with the outcome( I've been getting a lot of complements ). I feel like a million bucks! If you need a hair guru that you will be happy with for years to come, go to Lindsey, she's extremely knowledgeable of her domaine; from cutting, to highlights, coloring to whatever pleases you, she kills and rocks the hair game! Ps: Are yo available to travel to Mexico?

New location, same great service! As someone who some people might describe as "picky", Lindsey never disappoints! I first came to Lindsey a few years ago via a recommendation from a friend. She's been fulfilling all my fashion color needs - bright blue, bright purple, oil slick, smokey blue, rose gold, and on my most recent visit, rose gold. I love how Lindsey can take my hair inspo picks and turn them into a reality! She really takes her time and explains the process she's doing, which I appreciate. As a girl with naturally dark hair, bright colors can be difficult to execute but we've been able to do it with gradual bleaching and my hair is still healthy! Her services are worth every penny.

I can't thank Lindsey enough for my hair. I made the fatal mistake of going to another hairdresser to touch up my roots. They used horrible chemicals and I was so upset with the over priced results. I went to Lindsey one day after taking the before photo attached and I was blown away by how talented she is. Not only did she blend my roots, she listened to exactly what I was wanting and fixed my whole coloring. She also explained what she was putting into my hair, which will never be horrible over priced harmful chemicals! I will never go anywhere else, Thank you Lindsey!!!!!

This girl...she is Houston based and just recently moved her business to the Heights. I live in NYC but when I'm visiting my family in Houston I always make sure I get myself an appointment with Lindsey. She honestly is the only one I trust with my hair and I make it a point to wait until I'm in town to revamp my hair. I wouldn't trust anyone else. Maybe one day when I'm rich and famous I'll hire her as my personal stylist. She's great with color and cuts. And she curls my hair better than anyone I've ever encountered (and it stays, which is a miracle). Oh, and she's the QUEEN of blowouts. I'll always stay true to Lindsey

Lindsey is an absolute WIZARD when it comes to hair - plus she's the sweetest, coolest and most attentive stylist you will ever have. She really listens and considers not only what you're asking for, but what's going to make you look the best. I've never had my haircut by anyone else (except myself once - never again) since I started seeing Lindsey when I was 12, and now that I live in Portland, OR, I make a point to schedule a visit with her every time I'm back in Houston. She's the REAL DEAL Y'ALL.

I've been going to Lindsey for the past year and she is the only person I trust with my hair! She does a great job with both cut and color, and her salon is very cute and clean. She is also very accommodating with scheduling and a friendly person, would highly recommend! I always get compliments on my hair now!

I felt like I was going to my high school prom. This blowout was especially important to me because it was for my maternity photoshoot--something I've been planning and looking forward to for a very long time. When I got home, I tried brushing the curls out to loosen them, as I was told they would fall, but they would not loosen at all. I even tried adding water, and that still didn't help. Unfortunately, the curls stayed tight and didn't give the soft, loose look I was hoping for. In the end, I had no choice but to put my hair up for the photos. I was honestly so sad and unhappy about it that I felt like crying. This was a moment I really wanted to feel my best in, and the hairstyle just didn't align with what I had envisioned or asked for. I've been to this location (River Oaks Houston) before and had a wonderful blow out, so it was just this specific person. That being said, the stylist herself was very nice, kind, professional, and I don't have any issues with her personally. She did tell me the curls would fall once I brushed them out at home, but sadly, that never happened. I just wish the style matched what I requested, but it was so far off. If I had the time I would have just washed my hair and curled myself when I got home but I had to go straight to my photo shoot. I even thought about rescheduling the shoot to another weekend but I would have lost the deposit. I am so disappointed given how meaningful this occasion was for me.

Light snacks, like cranberries and nuts are provided along with hot tea options, and citrus flavored water. The space is very nice. There are locker rooms with plush spa robes and complementary slippers. The locker room has two steam showers if you want to wash yourself after your massage. They also provide hair products to try as well as a Dyson hair dryer. I was definitely very impressed with the luxurious feel of the spa, however, was turned off by the receptionist who checked me in - her robotic, transactional nature was starkly juxtaposed against the warmth of the spa. I noticed she was the same with all customers so it wasn't personal but interaction with her was unsettling. I booked the 60min signature hydrafacial and the esthetician was welcoming and willingly customized my facial based on my requests. No major issues encountered but I noticed we started 10 minutes late and ended 10 minutes early so I thought marketing it as a 60min experience was a bit misleading. Also note the 60min Signature Hydrafacial does not include any hand/neck massages nor boosters nor light therapy so the $285 price was much more expensive than my usual spa. I will not return for another facial but may try massage in the future. We also booked pedicures and again the space is beautiful!! We were given a palette to select colors and the ladies were extremely friendly! My toes came out adorable! I found the seating to be very uncomfortable for a short person despite many pillows placed behind me for support so I honestly struggled to enjoy the experience but the space was very nicely decorated and clean looking. We were offered tea and snacks at the beginning as well. Overall, this was a very nice spa. I found it fairly expensive and overpriced, but I recognize beautiful spaces have a cost and that's what I should've expected in the River Oaks area. There is complementary validated parking!

I was promptly checked in and the receptionist asked if I would like a beverage, the choices were a selection of soft drinks, wine, mimosas and water. I haven't had the luxury to experience that yet, it's a nice touch. The hexagonal motif is throughout the salon, hive-like very cute. My hair stylist, Maribel did a brief consultation. She asked what I wanted in terms of how my hair would be styled, length, cut. I wanted more of a trim ~ 4 inches off and a blunt cut. After examining my hair for thickness and length she recommended me to have long layers. I expressed that due to my line of work, I need to be able to tie my hair up without having strays falling out. The long layers would allow for more depth and not make it look so heavy at the ends due to having such thick hair. I was directed to move towards the back of the salon for a wash. She was polite and waited for the water to warm up before proceeding, it was washed and conditioned. I also got it blowdried and styled following my cut. It turned out great and I would return. Maribel was very polite, professional, knowledgeable and I would recommend her.

STOP SCROLLING -- BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE FIRST…read more If you are a woman of color looking for a QUALITY blowout, save yourself the time, money, and frustration: Go to https://pressedroots.com Or try https://blomedry.com/blo-katy/ Both are worth EVERY dollar. Professional, efficient, and they actually understand our hair. Now let me tell you why I will NEVER return to Blo Blow Dry Bar. I booked here last-minute before flying out for a major golf event with LIV Golf. Normally, I go to Pressed Roots, but they were fully booked--and that's the ONLY reason I ended up here. Before arriving, I called ahead, clearly explained: * I'm a Black woman * My hair is curly and medium-thick * I needed a proper blowout/straight style * Timing matters I was reassured they could handle my hair and had experience with my texture. Red Flag #1: The salon was completely empty when I arrived. Red Flag #2: What they called a "deep conditioner" was a 5-minute mask with zero real treatment. Red Flag #3: I was upsold products that were either misrepresented or ineffective. The stylist rushed the entire process. It became obvious she was trying to finish quickly rather than do the job correctly. By the time she was done: * My roots were NOT straight * My hair was puffy and fluffy, not sleek * It looked worse than when I do it myself at home When I asked her to fix it, she told me: "You asked for a blowout, not a silk press." Let's be clear: A blowout should still result in smooth, properly straightened hair--especially at the roots. She then refused to correct it, saying she "ran out of time"... Even though I called ahead and was assured timing was fine. Now let's talk about the bill: * Advertised special: ~$50 * Charged: ~$150 * Added charges for: * A "mask" I didn't ask for * A fake "anti-humidity serum" * AND tipped herself $25 on my card without permission Yes--tipped herself. The next morning, I returned: * Another stylist AND a customer both agreed my hair was not professionally done * Manager was unavailable * I called repeatedly for TWO WEEKS... no response Final Verdict: If you are a woman of color--DO NOT GO HERE. This was: * Overpriced * Rushed * Misleading * Poor quality * Completely unprofessional What should've been a $50-$75 experience turned into a $150 disaster. Save yourself the stress: Go to Pressed Roots or a salon that actually specializes in textured hair.

My poor interaction at this location started this morning. The person from this location who called…read moreme to confirm the appointment had poor communication and only stated she was calling from this place after I asked for her name. She was trying to confirm my appointments but also stated I booked 2 separate services. My colleague and I are in town for work and booked separate appointments for blowout services for 4:45 PM. We arrived early today at around 4:32 PM to check in. Immediately the stylist who checked us in was rude. Her delivery on informing us we had to wait was less than ideal, she told us we have to "go get some coffee and walk around and wait for our appointment time". Several clients walked in after us and were greeted with warmer reception than we received. We waited until 5:02 until we decided that we no longer wanted the service, as we have a work function to attend this night. When the initial stylist saw we were about to leave she came up to me and told me to "go to the back we're ready for you" (not acknowledging my colleague at all). We proceeded to explain we do not want the service as we have been waiting for over 20 minutes at this point past our appointment time. The stylist then told us that there is a 20 minute grace period for the stylist because of hair length (past the shoulders), extensions, and a flood forcing them to clean the salon in the morning. The entire exchange was combative. The stylist argued that "we actually have been talking for 5 minutes so when you decided to cancel it was within the 20 minute grace period" and that "your grace period stared at the time of your appointment, not before". We never made a statement about when the grace period started, we were simply informing this location we no longer wanted the service. She then said they were very fast and didn't want to charge us $50 for a no-show fee. The stylist kept trying to extend the exchange, sharing that they and the other stylist are fast. This is contradicts what she was saying before, because I have hair past my shoulders (which I put in the comments at the time of booking) and my colleague had extensions (she booked the service with extensions). It was never communicated to us that they were running behind. When my colleague asked for the policy on grace periods, this stylist could not find it. The stylist then proceeded to touch my hair without my permission, trying to show that she could do the service fast. At this point I ended the interaction and informed her "respectfully, we are cancelling and leaving". This was such a poor experience. I'm also adding a screenshot of their cancellation and late policies (taken after we left). We showed up early, checked in on time, and waiting an ample amount of time for our appointment. If we are charged for any services we will be disputing them, as we never received the booked services.
