They are friendly, attentive, provide you with all the information you need, and let you have fun making a candle. Shane provided excellent service as he guided us through the process. We were given an entire shelf of scents to smell and explore before making our own selections. Then we were invited to blend the scented oils. Once we had blended our oils we were given melted soy for the candle base. We poured the oils in and stirred for two minutes solid before pouring into the containers we had selected. The candle containers are the cost of the whole experience and begin at $29. Two hours is recommended for the whole process. Then you allow several hours for the candle to dry before you pick it up. read more

This was an enjoyable experience at Seabrook. The process included finding our seats, deciding on our scents, then finding our candle holders, and mixing everything together. This is a concept very nicely executed and a great diversion on a rainy day in Seabrook. The store is super cute, with stations set up for candle making in groups and lots of scent options. The staff were really friendly and helpful, really made the whole experience. The process is very simple and can be done in about 30 minutes (however it needs to cool for 2 hours minimum before pickup). Three east steps laid out on a card with clip board to select scents, select a container and then mix & pour. In some ways I was looking for there to be MORE steps to take up more time, but it proved a good diversion :) You can also buy pre-made candles if that's more your jam. read more

Who wouldn't want their own signature candle scent? If you have about a hour to spend you can create one of your own. Great solo or group project especially when the weather is too cold and wet to venture out. Appreciated learning the history towards the back of the store which laid the inspiration behind this establishment. Beautiful store to visit. Lots of candles also ready to purchase too. read more

This is a gem in seabrook, unfortunately seabrook has many businesses where people are unkind and unwelcoming, but this place was amazing! The lady helping us was very sweet and kind and welcoming. I'm sorry forgot her name but she was awesome! Candles are pricey but kinda expect that in a small town. Selection of scents was pretty good. But if you ask for a specific one they may have it in the back :) I would definitely do this again! Best service in seabrook by far read more

My husband took me to Seabrook to celebrate my birthday and when I saw Lorraines's I said, we're making candles! We walked in and the sweetest young lady greeted us, she had so much joy and you can see she truly enjoys what she does. She led us through the process of candle making- choosing scents, vessels, adding the oils to create your perfect scent, and pouring the wax into our chosen containers. We had so much fun and it only took about 30 minutes. Then we were told to go enjoy ourselves for a couple of hours and return for the candles. She wrapped the candles up beautifully and the scents turned out so nice! I chose one that had teakwood and beach scents and it was the perfect way to remember our special time! This will definitely be a Seabrook tradition. read more

A group of us were visiting Seabrook on Lorraine's opening weekend so a few of us ended up booking an appointment to make some candles! The studio is beautifully decorated, with a sentimental touch -the studio is named after the owner's grandmother, who you will see portraits of. We got a quick rundown on the scents and spent most of the time figuring out what combinations we would use. It's a fun little activity and doesn't take up too much time. If I was to provide feedback, I think providing a bit more information on what to expect for the candle-making process (we didn't realize we could control how much of each scent is used) and a more organized pick-up. You may specify the fragrance ratio. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful as they bring you your supplies. Then while you wait for the wax to cool, go out for lunch, a bit of shopping, or maybe a little stroll around this quaint town and "Ta Da" your candle is ready to go home with you in about 2 hours! I was attracted to the Natural Soy Wax, Cotton Wicks, and Premium Clean Oils. I love that the smaller sizes have a clean burning length of 45-60 hours. They off a discount if you bring the same container back for a refill later! They offer event options as well as custom candles for your special event. What an experience! Nothing like it, and probably wouldn't do it anywhere else. They really give you the full white glove service here -from helping you pick out your scents, to explaining why they go or don't go well together, to helping you pour and mix and create a beautiful scented masterpiece. I did this experience twice, both times without a reservation. If the weather is crummy or it looks like it's going to rain make sure to plan ahead because it seems to be very popular during those times. The entire experience takes about an hour and you can walk in and they talk to you about everything. If you're worried you can make a reservation. Mom and 3 year old approved, 10/10! read more

I had the chance to visit Lorraine's during their opening weekend. The shop itself is open and bright, with a large wall of scents displayed that can be added to your candle. The process itself is simple - choose scent(s), a container, then pour and pick up at least 2 hours later - and the cards provided make it easy to keep track of which scents you like. The staff are all very helpful. The shop experience is great, but what really sealed the five-star rating is customer service. We picked up our beautifully packaged candles on the way home from a trip to the coast (hours away) so we didn't notice until we arrived home that one of my kids came home with a candle that was not the one she poured. I called the shop and the person I spoke with took my contact information and info about the candle and assured me they'd take care of it. A few days later we received a package from Lorraine's with a kind note and the candle that my kid made, in perfect condition despite the heat wave. I appreciate the effort they took to make it a great experience even after we left the shop. read more

We were looking forward to making candles and got to the studio at 3:45 knowing they closed at 5 and that the candles needed to cool for 2 hours and we could pick them up the next day on our way home. The door was locked with a sign saying they would be back at 4:30. When we went back at 4:30 the employee said we could still make a candle but they were closing at 5 and it would be a very rushed experience. Bummer because we're planning on making6 Mother's Day candles today which would have been a $200+ sale. read more
