I'm a cat lover, so this shop hit my radar as soon as we got to Ocean Shores. And it was SO worth a stop in! Beautiful collection of items, very diverse and not all "cat" themed, but included. The people we spoke to (shop owners?) were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, as we purchased a niche item that we found very unexpectedly in their shop. Not only were they able to tell us about the item we purchased, but about the history and facts of the item. Their warmth and relatability led to us making a few more purchases before leaving the shop, and we will definitely return when we're in OS next time. One of about 50 eclectic beach gift shops in the Shores. It's located near those very colorful buildings on the main drag that are also mostly gift shops. Flying Cats has all the stuff you might expect. Dish towels with funny sayings, jewelry, books, humorous greeting cards, and various sundries. They have a whole section dedicated to drinking. They feature handmade mixers and gourmet ingredients for various cocktails. We chatted a bit with a nice lady I assumed was the proprietor. Or is it proprietress? Either way she was nice. The cutest little gift shop ever! Super warm and inviting interior. Nice man working today, friendly and attentive but not annoyingly so. I loved the unique upper end gifts they had at reasonable prices. This is not tacky souvenir crap you find in every other gift shop in Ocean Shores. New owners are hostile and will profile you. Used to come all the time to Flying Cats as relatives live out here and was excited to check out store post Covid. While hubby picked up chowder I was browsing and sent a few pictures to him of product I thought he might like. We decided against and I just went with tea and honey for now. Prior to check out lady took a full store photo and as I was checking guy came up and started recording. I asked why snd he only confirmed but did not get an answer. It was exceptionally uncomfortable. He then went on about me not buying soap. I had just cash, no purses, they constantly followed me around so there's no way I would of stolen anything and this is still how I was treated. Run! While we were on Vacation in Ocean Shores, Washington... we decided to browse inside Flying Cats Gift Shop. I noticed some mismatched knitted socks. My Darling Husband bought me a pair. We also bought some tea sample packs from a Tea company that I hadn't tried before. Some of those Teas were really tasty. We noticed that there was a cut it yourself Soap Station also. We didn't need that many items... during this Vacation... so we browsed the whole shop looking for Treasures before we noticed the carousel of socks. read more

The products they sell are 5 stars. The man that works here was one of the rudest people I have ever met. The woman his wife was great. Went Christmas shopping for my mom in 2021. I have not been back. I am afraid of what I may say if I ever see him again. read more

New owners are rude and hostile. I was in the car with my sleeping baby while my wife was in shopping. She was taking pictures and texting me my opinions on what to purchase. Apparently the people working there thought she was up to something shady and started taking her picture. When confronted they had no explanation for their behavior other than "well you didn't buy any of the soaps". Used to shop there quite often but will not be going back again. read more

I walked into the Flying Cats gift shop after visiting the candy store 100 feet away. I learned Flying Cats has been there for 20 years, which is quite an accomplishment. The store sells coffee as well as bars of soap, scarves, candles, honey, pictures, other items. I bought some coffee. I was really impressed with the logo. All I kind say is the owner is an extremely rude lady. I went in there to do some shopping and I noticed a tapestry (appears hand painted) with children on the wall. I asked who the author was and that I liked it very much. I took a picture of it and the owner came up to me and said you must ask permission before taking any pictures in her shop. She was 10 inches away from my face. I could understand if this was a gallery, but she was not selling the tapestry and it was merely wall art. This lady needs to learn the definition of customer service. If this is the store policy, they should post "no pictures please" on the tapestry and at the entrance. I will not be visiting her store again and I will tell all my friends to avoid her shop. She couldn't have been any ruder. People go to ocean shores to have a good time not to be scolded by a witch. read more

My favorite shop in Ocean Shores. I go there often to pick up a bag of coffee or a bar of Primal Elements soap, as well as the occasional odd thing that happens to catch my eye at the time. They always have something new in the shop and you just have to stop in whenever you're in town to check it out, have a cup of good coffee and a chat with the owners, who are two of the friendliest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. The very best thing in the shop? The Warm Whiskers microwavable heat packs that look like cats, they are the best thing in the world for achey breaky old bones on a cool, damp night on the coast! read more

This is my favorite store in Ocean Shores. They carry a lot of unique items. I always can find something that I just can't live without....lol. My husband loves the bbq sauce that they sell and one Christmas I bought a bunch of the bacon jam to give as gifts. The people who work there are so nice and very helpful. Okay, this place would easily get 5 stars if they still had the espresso shop next door with the wonderful, glacially slow older gentleman pulling shots. I once went there with several friends, about 5 people ahead of our group, and we were in that freakin line for over a HALF HOUR. If that poor guy ever tried to work in a Starbucks, he'd be stomped to death under the Doc's and Fleuvogs of the faster baristas, his blood mixing with the spilled milk until they just swept him out the door. Ew, sorry about that. Gross. Did I mention I loved the guy? He was so sweet and funny, and just made you happy to be there. I mean, I was kind of on vacation so how stressed could I be? If you can call Ocean shores a vacation. ...And now the shop is gone. There is a machine in the store that remains, but it's really for the owner's use. I think they'll make you one if they like you, though, and they have free carafes of drip if you just need a little caffeine. The owners here are just wonderful people. They will really do anything to help you, they just won't stop talking. I really enjoyed the familiar demeanor, but I suddently realised that I had been cornered listening to this guy talk for 30 minutes and my ride was honking from the parking lot. This place has REALLY CUTE SHIT. Like cute Laurel Burch kitty earrings? Got em. Like scented candles? Got em. Overpriced tea teepees? Ditto. TShirt etc with the (adorable) logo of flying cats on them? They should really carry these. HA! I KID! They HAVE THEM! Overpriced art, gorgeous local and not-so-local original art-jewelry? Oh yeah. Boundaries about what personal stories they should unload to a complete stranger who is listening politely while browsing silver jewelry? Nope. You must stop in this shop during your stay in Ocean Shores. It's adorable in a cool, eclectic way. They sell all kinds of gifts, coffee, soaps, jewelry, yes mostly cat themed but not over the top. Absolutely one of my favorite shops in OS. The owners are knowledgeable and truly passionate about the goods they carry. The minute you walk through door you feel like your visiting an old friend. The coffee is always fresh and the conversation warm and friendly. The shop offers a great selection of quality items including kitchen gadgets, really great oils and sauces, home decor items, teas, cards, lotions, hats and more.
