Great little place in Monterey to grab some Mexican cuisine the atmosphere was clean service was friendly and the food was good and I guess cell phone as well. We stopped here on our way to Knoxville. It's a few miles off of Hwy 40, and we'll worth the quick drive. It's very clean, the staff is masked and the food is excellent. We had shrimp and fish tacos, a grilled shrimp plate, and grilled jalapeños. Everything was very well prepared and absolutely delicious. The chips and salsa, as well as the Margaritas, were also great. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. I would eat here again in a hot second. read more

Our family frequently goes to this restaurant. Everytime is a great experience. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and all around great experience, every single time! Really good authentic Mexican food...I always get some sort of combination plate, rice and beans make everything better. Love the salsa, my recommendation, order extra.. I ate there a few months ago with a friend and it was one of the best Mexican meals I've had in this area. Fast forward to last week. Another friend and I went there and we both ordered chile relleno, enchilada rice and beans. . Interesting if you wanted red sauce, it was $1.25 extra as it came with cheese sauce. Items listed in another section were just the opposite. The relleno came, no breading just a 3/4 raw pepper covered in cheese sauce. It was awful the worst I have ever had. Dont stop at the first sentence read all of the post. We had to drive from Texas to New Jersey. It was not a vacation and not a good time. On the way back due to a navigational mishap we ended up driving an hour in the wrong direction then an hour back. We stopped at this little town, Monterrey, in the middle of Tennessee. This restaurant was the only regular (not fast food) restaurant open past 3pm on Sunday. Did I mention we are from Texas? We were pleasantly surprised to find OUTSTANDING FOOD! They even had really good salsa! The owner and staff were all extremely nice and helped to end a very long hard day of driving on a good and relaxing note. read more
