The pastor tacos were spot on. The bartender was great at their craft. I even ordered nachos to-go for later and they did not disappoint. Definitely a sleeper, should be rated higher. Located in the Central Park Square this is one of several great choices down town in Los Alamos.The atmosphere is light and comfortable. Lots of locals stop in on a regular basis and the location is convenient for those touring the Manhattan Project sites. Service is polite and adequate. The food is fresh and the selection is excellent for a cafe in the middle of nowhere. Ziggy manages a great bar and kitchen and is usually somewhere nearby and available to greet patrons. I never do reviews on places; however, this is our 2nd time here in 3 months - and both experiences were quite terrible. This is not to blame the staff, as it seems there is only one server to take care of the entire restaurant? But even with the one server - he showed a complete lack of urgency for anything... It took at least 15 minutes to even be acknowledged at our table - our appetizers came out before our waters (which I had to ask for waters again and the host brought only 1 to the table), the queso was cold, we ordered a beer and margarita to start, I didn't get my margarita until I finished my entree... supposedly the owner was there - but was nowhere present helping the staff in any way. We were in Los Alamos to visit the museum and decided to have lunch. They have a a very varied Menu . The problem is the food wasn't that god. My cheese steak I think was a hamburger patty and it hardly had any cheese on it. My niece got Mac n cheese and she didn't eat because she didn't like it. We gave this place another try. It has improved greatly since its opening! The menu has expanded in a good way. The price and quantity balance has improved greatly. The service has always been great and continues to be. The ambiance is great with both indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat in the covered outdoor seating and enjoyed a rain storm while having dinner. It was a nice experience. The restaurant is located in downtown Los Alamos near the breweries and Ashley Pond, so this place makes a great date night. We headed to the concert at Ashley Pond after dinner. We split the fig jam and ham on naan and mango habanero wings. The fig jam and ham was so so good! The flavor was sweet and slightly salty. I will order this again for sure! The mango habanero wings were good. They were also sweet, but no real heat to them. However, the flavor was great. I think I will order the buffalo wings next time to give those a try. I really wanted to like this place. I have eaten here 5 times now, twice dining in, and three times take-out. The food has always, up until my latest dining experience, been fair to good. This last order for three chicken sandwiches for myself and co-workers was pretty terrible. Chicken was overcooked and leathery. This is from the point of view of a former Army grunt too.... I have had the pleasure of eating terrible food all over the world. At least the $5 fries were edible. Beautiful dining area, cool robot servers, thats about it. The fish tacos were amazing! My sister had the shrimp tacos and was pleased as well. My husband had the pasta Bolognese and my son had the chicken tenders ( should be on the adult menu). Overall great choice for family night out. read more

The service was great. We experienced the robot, who my son likes every time we come here. And the human waitstaff is very friendly. My son loves the fried chicken sandwich with fries. this trip I enjoyed the spicy shrimp tacos. The green rice and black beans really hit the spot. chips and salsa and guacamole started the evening conversation. Finished the meal off with the key lime pie.
