We love the INCREDIBLE specials, such as the sloppy joe's, the fish, etc. I always get the salad, too--the one with the jicama. Omg. It is so hearty and satisfying! Great ambiance: open dining area with plenty of booths and tables and a bar with TVs with sports on no volume, which doesn't interfere with the dining space. The only issues with it were that it needed more mayo and more tomato to even it out. It started out very dry so the additional mayo helped but either thicker sliced or just more tomato would help. Stumbled upon the new location while shopping in De Vargas Mall. Great decor and a chill vibe. We were seated right away for lunch. They have a large area for dining indoors, plus a great looking patio outside. We chose the cozy bar area to enjoy our lunch. We ordered their DFG Cuban sandwich, with fries. The house made ham and pulled pork are exceptional. And the bread! The bread is perfectly soft in the middle with crisp crust on the outside. Previous Cuban sandwiches I have had were a little different than this version. The DFG Cuban with the smoky pork, crisp pickles, creamy cheese, and flavorful slaw is juicy and delicious. I've dined at Dr Field Good's since the original outpost on Cerrillos. I find it consistently great service, there's a wide selection on the menu. On this visit, we had the Cubano, which was outstanding. I've always liked that the butcher shop for Dr Field goods is right next-door whether they use meats from there or not I'm not particularly aware, but I can tell you the Cubano and the variety of meats that make up the Cubano definitely were butcher shop fresh. This particular night was quite busy and our waiter did a fantastic job with a what appeared to be a large number of patrons to serve. His attention to detail is commended as we did not feel left out and felt the service and food quality outstanding. This is our first time eating at the NEW Dr. Field Goods. We ate at the old location many times and loved the food. The menu is different; some of our old favorites are gone, and there are new items, but overall, this restaurant is as good as it was in the past. I had a new dish (for us), the Kyzer Pork Chop. We buy Kyzer in the Burcher shop; they are outstanding, and the version on this menu is superb. Tender as I expected, perfectly cooked, and very, very tasty and unusual. I highly recommend it. My wife had the Mussels. This is different from the version at the old restaurant, which was Thai-inspired; this version is very different, made with a bacon/garlic butter sauce but delicious. Great quality mussels. Service was very good; food came to the table quickly, considering the restaurant was packed full. One of our friends had the burger, and it looked great. She was very happy with it. I want to try it next time, as the meats here are all super top quality. Check out their butcher shop next door. I did tell the waiter and showed him the burger and they did make me another one. I wish I would have just sent it back and taking it off my order. The second Burger I ordered I asked for it to be cooked well and it was cooked correctly. But by this time I have lost my appetite. I think this is the Yelp page for the restaurant after Dr Field Goods took over. I took colleagues there as well as ordered for a meeting. The food was really lovely, and I especially like the jicama apple slaw. It is a little pricy but the food quality is high so I think it is sill a good value. We chose this spot for Father's Day lunch because my Husband has always loved their chicken sandwich and their bloody Mary's. It was busy but we got seated fairly quickly. I rarely visit this restaurant due to the many disappointments I experienced here - through numerous servers and two owners - but like a bad girlfriend or boyfriend you can't seem to let go of, I'll always come back for some more culinary abuse. I sat at the bar and the bartender seemed more interested in her beverage and her phone than serving customers. I had to flag her down for ordering; basic condiments; and the check. She was clearly inexperienced and I shudder to think what would have transpired if I ordered an actual cocktail instead of a beer. The "Aged Green Chile Cheeseburger" Special - $20 - looked great on paper. It tasted like the co-located butcher shop had some rapidly expiring sirloin that they decided to grind up and mark up. I ordered it Medium and it came out nearly rare - Medium Rare is being generous. A restaurant should be gauged on the quality and consistency of its "special" burger and this one failed to deliver. Rather than a recook I felt safer taking the remainder home where I could reheat it to a safe temperature. For my dogs. I will certainly have another breakdown and attempt to eat here again in a few months. But a $20 burger needs to be nailed - and this one failed to deliver. The slaw was edible. Service 3/5 Food 2/5 The manager did listen to my concerns and he deserves credit for trying to make it right, but at the time, all I wanted was a to go box, which he promptly delivered. read more

This is the second time I have been to the DeVargas location. All I have to say is that they have slid down so far that I am wondering if they will ever recover. The food is perfectly awful. The prices would are high and I understand that, but you do not short change the customer on quality and presentation . The employees seem non- invested. And more than likely the cooks are too. I stopped by to pick up an order to go. I didn't eat here but the inside is very pleasant indeed, with nice wait staff who are very helpful. There is definitely plenty of seating and I can't imagine there would ever be a huge wait for a table. They also have a nice long bar, the likes of which you just don't see that much anymore. Something about it just begs you to pull up a stool and order a Sidecar. The burgers were very good, and extremely large! Honest to gosh! This was the best meatloaf that I have tasted in years. It was accompanied with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and fresh green broccoli. What a treat. The bread pudding with a whisky sauce too, was wonderful. We started off with some tri-colored chips with freshly made guacamole and salsa. The guacamole was mashed into large chunks and was great.
