I was a bit hesitant to eat here since the reviews seemed mediocre but I was pleasantly surprised! We were passing through town and wanted a sit down restaurant that we didn't have at home and Los Amigo's fit the bill. Our waiter was excellent - probably one of the best waiters I have had in a long time. He was lots of fun and attentive. I ordered the speedy gonzales which came with one beef taco (subbed chicken), one enchilada and rice or beans. Everything tasted really good AND it was only $6.25. Great service. Great food. After giving it a shot, I was surprised to just see 3 stars on Yelp--my experience here was very positive. Even if it wasn't maybe the fastest, the service was fast enough, and friendly. The Arroz con Pollo tasted fresh, and the chicken and rice were both cooked properly. The spicy tomatillo salsa that I requested was one of the better ones that I've ever had, and I've been to a lot of Mexican joints. Maybe I just got lucky, but I would definitely go back if I was in Paducah and felt like Mexican food. No issues here. read more

I've been coming here off and on every time I come to Paducah to shop. The building is old and from your first impression you would think yuck. Then you go inside and you can tell everything is older, but then it's just dark on the inner part of the dining room floor. The men's bathroom had one light fixture out and has the color of something from the 1960s. The place needs updated badly. It's very dated looking and it's kind of dirty. Then, if you're lucky, a hostess will lead you to a table and sit you down. A few years ago this was not a problem, but my last three visits. It seems to be a problem. Then a waiter will come over and ask you what you to drink. Then they come back with your drink, and then they take your order. My last three visits have not been a very pleasurable experience. This time I came on a Tuesday at 1 PM central time and it was very slow inside. In the past there has been mostly Mexican men come and take your order. The last few times that I have been there and I know it's not good to judge people by their looks but these people do not need to be working inside of a restaurant. A young 20 something year old boy of biracial descent, covered in several tattoos, brought me my chips and salsa. His hair was down to his shoulders, and it had a wet look. I'm not joking he has this Marilyn Manson thing going on, it's this goth culture that the younger kids are into. His darn hair. Need to be up in a hairnet if he's going to be working in a restaurant. This Mexican lady came over and asked me what I wanted to drink. She came back and she took my order. My order arrived, and it just was not prepared professionally it was like a bunch of slop Paul onto a plate. There was a young 30 something year-old Mexican man sitting close to the bar on his phone, constantly, and my waitress after checking on her customers would go and sit and talk to him. There was a Caucasian lady that was waitressing, and she does something that just kills me, every guy that she spoke with. She called them honey, or darlin', or babe, I find it to be very unprofessional. And then on the opposite wall, there were these two hillbillies that decided to come out of the woods after five years, and literally did not show any sincerity or courtesy to the few people that were inside dining. There was one 20 something year old boy of Mexican descent that was working the cash register, he had brought me my order and was pretty presentable as someone that would work in a restaurant. I ate pretty quickly because I got tired of listening to the two inbred hillbillies decided to come out of the woods, got up and paid and left, and as I was walking out the door, I said that I would not be back. This place just seems like it's on life-support and someone needs to just pull the plug on this place because it really makes you want to roll your nose a little bit. And it's kind of sad because 5 to 7 years ago it was not a bad place to come to. Sorry to the person who owns it, but I will not be back. read more

Los amigos was my favorite restaurant all through high school and back then I would say it's hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Paducah. However, they have lost their touch in a lot of areas. The servers are rude, impatient, and most of the time when I've asked for anything extra (like extra salsa) I'm clearly an inconvenience. The last year that I've been coming here I'm consistently disappointed not only by the service, but the food quality. It's super upsetting too, because I've always loved this place! We went last night (we come pretty regularly) and my boyfriend got the "special dinner" and most of his food wasn't even hot. He's not a picky eater, and most of it was left on his plate. The tamale was hard and not even warm. The poblano pepper was soggy like it was made early and still being served hours later. They drenched it all in red sauce (I guess to hide the fact that they were serving old food) and he didn't feel very good afterwards. I almost always order the chicken chimichanga, but I decided to get a chicken quesadilla. You'd think it would be hard to mess up, right? When they sat my plate down I could tell my quesadilla was soggy, and the chicken wasn't warm enough to melt the cheese at all. The one positive thing I will say is that they'll always have my favorite chips, salsa, and cheese dip from almost anywhere I've ever tried. However, I just can't hype them up like I use to, and definitely miss the atmosphere this place use to have. I only wish I'd taken pics of our food last night so I could show how disappointing it was. My recommendation is to come at lunch time if you choose to come here. They do have good food, but expect the service to be nothing special. read more

WAY OVERPRICED!!!!!!!!!!! Small portions with big prices. My wife commented to me that she was expecting a meal instead of a snack. Had to order extra food so we wouldn't leave hungry. This is the best Mexican place in Paducah all things considered. The cheese is awesome here! And the service is usually good and quick. The date was 8/4/2018 for our visit. The waiter did not ever come back to fill drinks. My child ordered a kids chicken and fries and my wife ordered a side of chicken and cheese only. She had less food than the kids meal and were charged $9.75 for the meal. We ask the waiter why and told him we only had the chicken and cheese. He responds with yes you don't like the beans and rice. That was not what we ordered and his comments were rude. I visited this location on 7/22/22 and called in a to go order. When I arrived, mistakenly I had called the order in to the wrong location. It was apparent that I called the wrong place. So, I called the other location and cancelled the order. Then asked the owner if I could place the order, he ignored me, when I asked again he was very rude and dismissive, like I intentionally called the wrong location. It was obvious he didn't want to take my order. So, I said that is okay. I'm still confused as to why he would not take my order. It was not like I called the wrong location on purpose. I'm still confused, but did not deserve the rude treatment. When I left the restaurant he yelled ADIOS. The bad thing about it, I order once a week from this restaurant and have done in so consistently for the past year. I don't know if he mistook me for someone else or just had a bad day. But my thoughts are that business is business, if I wanted to place an order, I should have been able too without the disrespect. I realize if people mistakenly called and ordered, it would be a loss. However, I would remember regular customers, as well. This lets me know he does not appreciate my business.
