I have a standard to making reviews. 1. Parking and Surroundings: plenty of parking right in front of the rest. Easy to get in and out. 2. Seating, Ambiance: Authentic Mexican furniture, chairs, standard seating, simple old town feeling and decor, acompanied by ranchero, mexican folk misic, mariachi playing as background music. 3. Seat yourself anywhere you please. The waitres will immediatly take your order in English or Spanish. Answering any questions you may have about the entrees. They came to the table several times to check on us, very nice and with the outmost attention. 4. Food. We ordered two Tilapia Aviña plates. These came really hot, perfectly cooked with the right amount of seasoning made me forget that it was tilapia, served with yellow spanish rice, tortillas, guacamole and pico de gallo. It was a palatial experience as the tilapia requires carefull eating. Very well presented and tastefull. The pictures speak for themselves. 5. Fried ice cream, deliciously crafted. Love the crunchy crust that covers the ice cream. Vanilla with chocolate syrop on top. Overall from 1 to 10. I give it a nine. Taste, food, service "9.5" Will be coming back.

My fiancé and came to explore the town of Bronson while house hunting and ran into this Mexican restaurant. Authentic and fresh Mexican food. Upon sitting our server, Jorge, greeted us and brought over fresh salsa and chips. We came for lunch and both ordered Alambres dish- steak fajita with onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms with melted cheese on a skillet with fresh, hot corn tortillas. Affordable prices and clean restaurant. I'll definitely be coming back to try other dishes!!

It's my first time here and I like it. The place is simple and pretty. Very nice waitress. There weren't many people in the place, so it was quiet. The food arrived on time and hot. Besides being delicious. The prices are comfortable and the portion is enough. I would definitely go back.

Los Avinas is a great place to eat at if you are really hungry. I ordered the mixed fajita lunch special as a to-go order. This came with a container of meat (chicken and steak), a container with rice and beans, 2 tortillas, a bag a chips, and salsa. All that cost around $8. With a drink it came to around $11. The reason I enjoy Los Avinas is for the price and quantity that they serve. It could definitely serve as two meals. Even the drink I ordered was huge. The downfall was the quality of the meat. Both the chicken and steak seemed to be low quality. The steak in particular was very fatty and chewy. Also, I would have loved some extra toppings for the fajitas like sour cream or cheese. My meal was ready 10 minutes after I put in the order which was a plus! Their lunch rush had not started so perhaps they would have taken longer.

A nice small restaurant with self seating. The menu has three pages of the usual Mexican restaurant options mixed with custom plates. Alberta's plate is in the picture and very good. There was a minimal wait for refills of drinks. That will not be a problem since their cups are much bigger than normal. A free to go drink was a nice addition. The food is very filling with huge plates. When our table requested more potent hot sauce we did have to wait for a second time to ask the server. The second time she got the more potent sauce immediately and it was very powerful. If you plan on using a gift card from reataurant.com, make sure you print it out. The manager does not accept the code on your phone. That is the only reason for the four out of five stars.

Fajitas were very good. Hot, lots of food. Definitely filling. Only 3 tortillas so I ate some of the food with a fork.

We had planned on going to a popular Korean restaurant in town but they were short-staffed and…read morebarely acknowledged as we came through the door, so we left and decided to come here instead. Nice save. Parking when they're busy is a bit much but we found a spot around the corner from the door and walked to the entrance. You walk through their outside dining area which is all covered but because it had just rained it was a bit muggy for us so we opted to sit inside. The place has multiple floors and I really like that set up. We were sat upstairs on the second floor right by the top of the stairs. Looking around you can see another floor with a reserved area, tvs showing sports, and their salsa bar, more on that later. No chips and salsa here. Chips and Charro Bean Dip. The beans tasted refried and charred if that makes sense. I lost at rock, paper, scissors so I had to go visit the salsa bar and bring back dips to try. They had some pretty good ones like their homemade chipotle dressing, salsa verde, salsa de molcajete, etc. There wasn't one that we didn't like. Our server was really great and took care of us well. I got a Tamarindo Margarita and to eat the Enchiladas Poblanas (chicken enchiladas with mole sauce, queso fresco, raw onions) with the normal side of refried beans and rice, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guac. I got a side of extra cheese because I'm a little rat and dumped it on them. The mole sauce really hit the spot. The last time I had it the sauce was kinda bland but this gave such a nice sweet and earthy flavor. He got the Molcajete Azteca (lava rock bowl with char-grilled chicken, steak, chorizo, shrimp, queso fresco, grilled cactus, onions, avocados, serrano peppers, pork rinds), same sides as my dish. He ''Oooh-ed" and "Ahhh-ed" and "Oh my God, this is so good" so you know he was a happy guy. I can see what all the hype is about. Definitely a place to visit.

Time for a revisit to Las Carretas. This time I was with my mom, and we got in there when a soccer…read moregame was playing, so there was a lot of activity happening. We got a seat inside away from the noise, oddly enough in about the same place as we almost always have gotten in this restaurant. I went for a burrito, which is also my standard. It was just as good this time around as it was the last time, and the service was still just as solid. Really, for this kind of Mexican food in Gainesville, this is one of the best places to go as far as I am concerned. We will be returning in the future.
