We had to switch our order from dine in to carry out because they seem to have a problem with my wife holding her 6 pound Service dog. They insisted he stay on the floor under the table. So we had them pack our food up. We got home and were missing ALL of my wife's meal, appetizer and desert. I had to drive the 9 miles again to go get it. Yes this means my food was cold and soggy. At least she enjoyed hers. As for our server while we were ordering.......DUDE YOUR PERSONALITY SUCKS. And your looks when questions were asked border very hard on disrespectful and rude. LazyDog shows all the signs of a dog friendly place.....not so much as you think.

The hostess seated us immediately. There were several tables of people, but not overly packed. Our waitress arrived quickly & took our drink orders. My Dad chose a blueberry pancake & eggs over hard. My son chose the Build Your Own Bear's Choice Breakfast with the ranch steak, 2 eggs over easy, and 2 biscuits with gravy. Lastly, I chose the Build Your Own Bear's Choice Breakfast, as well. My choices were 2 scrambled eggs, the sweet cream Belgian waffle, spicy homemade sausage patties & hash-browns. I also ordered their amazing orange juice. Our food arrived rather quickly & every last bite was incredible!! There was very little talking, our waitress checked in at a perfect rate & the cabin feeling atmosphere enhanced the experience. My dad finished his breakfast, while my son & I both took home leftovers. I will say, the leftovers made a wonderful dinner. Overall, the experience Black Bear provided was fantastic, from start to finish. It had been awhile since we've been in. I told my husband, we need to bump Black Bear back to the top of our breakfast list. Keep doing what you're doing!!

Weekends get busy so be sure to make a reservation.

The chicken…read morewas tender, the spices were warm without being overpowering, and the sauce had that slow cooked depth you hope for. Portions weren't huge, but neither were the prices, so it felt fair. Drinks were especially cheap, which made it easy to relax and stay a while. Decor is very basic, and you can tell they have a lot of repeat local customers. I can see myself coming back. This is good home cooked food at a good price.

For example instead of giving one entree for four people you can do two entrees for two people to try different things! We got the coconut thai stir fry which was interesting and the carbonara. I'm not usually a carbonara girl because I feel like it's so decadent that I get flavor fatigue easily but this has got to be one of the best carbonara's I've had so far. The coconut thai stir fry was interesting... it's kind of old people's favorite meal because it was so mushy. It reminded me of grits in a way. Flavor was there but the texture wasn't for me. We also opted for the salad with ranch which tasted very fresh and homemade. The cherry tomatoes are delicious. We also got the bread and hummus which was also delectable and the olive oil used was very high quality. We added chicken which was solid but maybe a little undercooked for my personal liking Overall I really enjoy this place.

We arrived and put our name in, there was a 20 minute wait. Since my grand daughter was sleeping we waited in the car for our table. It was ready in 15 minutes so early. I ordered off the a la carte menu to sample several items. Biscuit and Gravy and cinnamon roll were excellent. Good bacon and 2 scrambled eggs. We enjoyed our food and the service was great. We'll be back again. Kitchy motif with lots of western / cowboy types of items on the walls

When they are not busy, their customer service is excellent. When they are super busy, their customer service is adequate. The ambience here is definitely old-school café where you can sit next to strangers at a big long tables and in the old days where farmers would come to chat with each other after working all morning. Their French toast sandwich is delicious. Their omelettes, also delicious. Bacon. Yum. Pancakes also yum. Cinnamon Rolls, OMG. The one thing consistently that I do not care for here are their hashbrowns. To the point that I try to order things that don't include them. The menu says they are golden and crispy. They are not. I have asked specifically for them to be golden and crispy. They, still, are not. I don't complain after they are brought incorrectly cooked. I don't send them back. I just don't eat them. But I have never once been here where I've been served hashbrowns that made my tummy smile in delight. They are flavorless and mushy. Slightly more solid than the consistency of mashed potatoes. The coffee is weak. Typical of many breakfast places, though.

It was chalky white, bland, and tasted like absolutely nothing -- not cheese, not seasoning, just sadness in a bowl. I took a few bites hoping it would get better and ended up feeling so sick I actually had to run to the bathroom and throw it up. I have never had mac and cheese that bad in my life. Then there was the catfish. Catfish is supposed to be crispy, seasoned, and full of flavor. This tasted like it was dropped in the fryer with zero seasoning and zero care. The only way I could even get it down was by drowning it in hot sauce just to give it some kind of taste. At that point I might as well have just eaten the hot sauce by itself. The whole meal felt like it was cooked by someone who has never tasted food before. Bland, poorly prepared, and honestly kind of shocking that a restaurant would serve it. I left feeling nauseous and disappointed. Save your money and your stomach -- I would not recommend this place to anyone. not even my worst enemy Let me talk about the cornbread, because it might have been the most disappointing thing on the plate. First off, it was wrapped in foil like a leftover someone forgot about in the back of the fridge. When I opened it up, it looked rough -- dry, dark, and cracked like a scab sitting on a plate. Not golden, not soft, not fresh... just sad. Then I took a bite and somehow it got worse. The taste was like unseasoned water baked into a dry brick. No sweetness, no butter, no flavor at all. It was crumbly, dry, and tasted like it had been sitting around for days before they wrapped it up and served it. Cornbread is supposed to be warm, soft, and comforting. This was the complete opposite. Honestly, I've had gas station cornbread that tasted better than this.
