    Red Snapper plate (medium fish)

I went to lunch here and enjoyed the upbeat restaurant and bar. Be prepared to use your Spanish while ordering. The service was quick and the meal delicious. I recommend the Red Snapper plate with mashed potatoes and rice.

This was the second time at this site with a large family group. We were seated within a reasonable amount of wait time considering that we we did not make reservations for a group of 10. Our server was a novice, but he was nice. Constantly had to flag him down for refills on drinks. Staff in a collared blue shirt cleared some of the piled up dishes on our table as people began to finish their meals, which were a lot. However, not all dishes were removed by the staff in blue shirts (which looked like managers). He needed help with such a large group. FOOD-- yummy! My fried fish was tasty as was the beans and rice that came along with it. The seasoning on the fried fish was right on. Three of us ordered it, and we all three really enjoyed our meal. The choco flan was delicious! The texture just right with the right amount of chocolate flavor.

I come here with family now on Fridays since lent has begun. The food here es pretty descent. The restaurant gets full here on Fridays and the weekend. They have shrimp cocktail specials on Monday's and other specials during the week only. Our server was really attentive and awesome because she made sure we were good and checked on us often. I got the combinacion plate of fish and shrimp de la diabla. It was not spicy at all but really good and is a lot of food so I had to take half of it to go because it was so much. You get mash potatoes but you can change them to fries just make sure to let the server know because they won't tell you that. The salsa they give you with tostadas is super spicy so I used that on my food it was FIRE!!! Lol anyways my grandma and grandpa like coming here often so I'm 100% sure I'll be back again soon with them. enjoy my pics:)

    Ensenada Tacos-Los Colegas Gateway!!

We ordered take out from Los Colegas, two orders of Ensenada tacos. We were dissapointed to see only one (1) shrimp per tortilla not the three (3) you get when you dine in. l guess they figured they can get away with it since it is take out.

Even though the hostess did her best to try and push us off to come back another day ( it seems her and the manager we're having a very public fight) we told them we would wait since this is one of the better places for oysters in town. After her 2 additional attempts to tell us the wait was going to be forever, we were sat 5 minutes later by the manager and had a great lunch. Not sure how the that chick is still employed there tbh. I think she was more focused on her new tattoo and making sure the plastic wrap was still on her arm lol

This place is awesome!!!! Great seafood great service excellent salsa. You also get a fish soup while you wait for your food. The shrimp cocktail here is what it should be...exploding with flavor super tasty. Definitely recommend to come here if you are ever in El Paso

So I just got here, bemyself. Wanting to eat at the bar and have a seat. Front desk girl right away tells me "you cannot sit at the bar" I input there's people sitting there already and a lot open chairs anyhow she didn't let me told me there's only 1 bartender. The place is already full, groups are there in bar area, 1 single guy really yeah already I have bad horrible customer service.. and i got put on a waitlist which is fine 1 hour wait list for a single guy that can easily be sat at bar stoll instead of a table, and now I don't want the stoll I will wait my hour for a table just told see the rest of the the service. In other words management here sucks

Holy mother Mary of God. I went on the first friday after ash Wednesday and this place was FULL of Mexicans hunting their fish.....you know.... because fish "isn't meat". Anyway it was incredible. I love seafood and Mexican food and ....POW! Best of both worlds. I had the chipotle shrimp and fish and nearly shit myself it was so much. The ceviche was good. Th salsa and chips were great. Just leave your colon at home friends. I'll be back.

So this place is a MEXICAN restaurant but not in the typical Mexican food category. This is Mexican seafood. It's a whole category of its own! The only classic Mexican food was enchiladas but I was here for the fish, shrimp & beer!! It was a good meal, service was fast & prompt. Our meals came with a bowl of fish soup that was tasty. Not to fishy in a tomatoes based broth & a little bit of squash. I ordered the LARGE shrimp cocktail to share and we couldn't finish it 1. Because our meal came out right behind it and 2. It was big! Like 12-16 medium sized shrimp in a sea of crunchy celery, onion & avocado. Hubby had shrimp veracruz and I had fish tacos. His veracruz was really good. My fish tacos were okay. I would come here again but definitely not during the live music. It was so loud I swear you could not even hear the server or each other. The guy singing was good but he could have turned it down by about 2 million decibels.

    Lunch taco special until 3pm

I came here for lunch . They have a $6.99 4 taco special. There are about 10 different kinds to choose from - I opted for the grilled fish- they were okay. You can't mix & match and the tacos are a bit on the small side but enough to fill you up. The side of mashed potatoes were good and fresh. I also tried the cheese queso with grounded chorizo. The cheese was so thick and stringy I could barely get it separate to get a bite. Maybe that's how they do it here in El Paso. Also, the menu is in Spanish but if you're a gringo like me, they have an Americanized version. Most of the staff only speaks Spanish as well. This is a very colorful restaurant/ bar with loud Mexican music - a bit on the cheesy side. I kind of felt like I was in Cancun. There's a huge Bud Light poster on the stage - autographed by the Bud girls in it, of course. I'm guessing this place may get a little loud at night- it def Felt like a party bar. I saw a karaoke sign walking in and different drink specials on different nights. Not my cup of tea so I won't return.

One young lady, I imagine she was the hostess, made a displeased face when we walked in, sighed visibly and trotted over to greet us and seat us at a table. Terrible first impression, I have to say. Our server, Trey (hope I spelled it right) was nice, professional, knowledgeable and overall a pleasure. I guess he made the experience more bearable, but not by much. We ordered some appetizers (mozzarella stick, chips and queso, hush puppies and shrimp) that were good. The main dish, the crab fried rice, touted fresh crab in its description. I don't expect the crab to move in my plate to prove it is fresh, but whatever was put on top of the fried rice was not crab, by any definition I have encountered. It seem it was leftover scraped crab from the day's cleaning of the shells, combined with too much pepper. WAY TOO much. The fried rice wasn't any better, could not eat much of it. The onions that were cut with an axe were the proverbial onion on your fried rice. I believe that when restaurants have something to hide, they will over season the food, so the customer can't tell it was not fresh. Very disappointed. This place is not sure what it wants to be : seafood, Southern Louisiana, Korean, Japanese or Chinese. They should pick a theme and stick with it. It's expensive for the quality of the food. Won't be back, and don't recommend.

And I was pleasantly surprised when I found this place in El Paso, Texas. For starters, you sort of have to navigate your way around a second parking lot to get to it, but it is worth the adventure. Walking through the door. Door. They have a very nicely kept greeting station with a bar off to the left. So I made my way to the bar for a drink before dinner After my drink I went and got seated waited for the rest of my party. Looked over the menu and asked for suggestions. The chef's specials are always on point I was told so I opted for the blackened red snapper etouffee. Wow, what an amazing dish! And the presentation was off the hook. The spices were on point. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was just a very good dinner experience. Service was a little slow, I think that they weren't prepared for a party of 20 even though we had a reservation. Had it not been for the very slow service I probably would have given them five stars. But hey it's a improvement point. Bottom line? If you are in El Paso and you are looking for a nice upscale seafood place that has a casual feel, you could definitely check this place out.!
