They are officialy out if business. There is a new place, (didnt catch the name change, the new menu was the clue) I decided to stay because I was there and it is HORRIBLE and over priced. Nice service but prices are high ad the food is horrible. I paid $15 for 6 small shrimp on some subpar rice, string french fries and two slices if bagette... their wrapped jalapenos were $11 for THREE soaked in soy sauce and the shrimp were not even devaned. It is a trap, the lemonade was good though... dont stay to be nice, just leave!! Everything inside is still coko loco colorful and clean. How is it that there isn't a line out the door for this place. Hands down the best fish tacos I've had in El Paso. While they do offer a battered option, I went with the house grilled and it was perfection! A generous portion of FIVE tacos with perfectly grilled white fish, fresh and pickled veggies, avocado, and a crema sauce to top it off. Absolutely delicious. Super friendly staff. Came here with my husband because I love some good Mexican food and had also been craving seafood...sooo mariscos it is! Eh, I'm not too loco about coco. They seem a little overpriced. The fish was definitely very fresh which is a plus. The presentation of the tacos looks cool, but isn't really functional and pretty messy to eat as they overlap. My tacos were heavy on the slaw which I wasn't crazy about. I think their drinks are probably the best thing on the menu, but I don't do alcohol. I think we were the only ones in the restaurant not drinking. The virgin michelada mango was bomb. So don't fret if you're not into alcohol either. They got ya covered with drinks. It comes in pineapple too. Another reviewer kind of dissed their chips and salsa and I was surprised by the review until I tasted them for myself. Unfortunately the salsa tasted like spicy water to me. Not sure how you mess that up. They do charge like 3.5% for credit card transactions which is a bummer. Well what can I say.... This place is completely over hyped. I had high expectations from the pictures that are being posted on social media. Don't get me wrong, the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The drinks were great. The food was just not it. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, which I will say was amazing! You can taste the freshness and it's definitely full of flavor. This was the only dish that gave me hopes that everything else we ordered was going to be just as delicious. Next came the Fried Shrimp with fries.. I opted to have them tossed in lemon pepper which I was so hyped about getting. They finally came out and the shrimp were dark as hell. I've learned that when stuff is fried it's suppose to be golden brown, that usually happens when the fryers and oil are clean and fresh. When the fryers are dirty and the oil has been reused multiple times/days, they fried food comes out looking very dark. To say that dish wasn't picture worthy is the least. Now that I think about it, maybe I should've so you could see what I mean. I took one bite and was immediately done. Next came the Shrimp Cocktail, my husband said it was okay, just okay. A bit more on the spicy side but it was eatable. My poor daughter ordered the kids pizza, which you could most definitely tell it was a little mini pizza from the local grocery store's frozen section. This place is cute if you're wanting to pregame before going out. You can probably do drinks and ceviche right before you start your night. Food- For Me- looked nice, if was what I ordered but wasn't .... Food- For Guest- was too spicy even though they specifically asked for no spice at all... Our server was absolutely horrible, Not only did it take 20 minutes to get a bottled coke and glass of tea, 40 minutes for chips and salsa, and 50 minutes to get the wrong food, the food that wasn't wrong was done incorrectly. The girl with the IQ of a stick of butter didn't even offer to fix either one of our meals and then had the nerve to to tell us we still had to pay the rip off prices since the other guest literally took one bite before finding out it was too hot... The ambiance was just ok, nothing special, but funniest part was they had some imitation dj from El Paso off you tube on the screen. It was obviously some goofball in his bedroom playing pretend... I usually give a place 2-4 chances before writing a review and for the most part they do alright... But this place overall.... Not even gonna get a second chance... Besides being screwed out of almost 30 dollars for absolutely nothing but 2 drinks, we still left hungry and got 100% f****d out of eating for lunch... I seriously wouldn't recommend this place unless you are into blowing money out your bum and getting screwed... FTP.... Never Again And thank god for word of mouth within the scene.... I came here for lunch on a random Thursday. It was my first time and there wasn't any people. The girls here are very attentive and make sure your food is delicious and your beer is full. Lol .... The seafood tasted fresh and tasty. While I was enjoying my beer and food the place started to pick up and it was getting crowded. I wish I new about this place sooner because it is a delicious little seafood spot. Even the fries the pics they don't look good but I swear they are soooooo goood. I got the worst case of food poisoning from going there Saturday afternoon. Had the mariscada and shrimp tacos. The mariscada had pulpo and it was so tough to chew I could not eat it the shrimp tacos were embarrassing they had like 2-3 dime sized shrimp per taco. Never going back and I hope the health department shuts them down. read more

A wonderful seafood restaurant. The service was spotty but the food was fabulous. I had the Caldo de 7 Mares ( seafood soup) It was brimming with seafood and veggies. I did not add the additional rice and bread but that was a good thing because the soup was just outstanding. Secondly I ordered a tostada with atún roja (ahí tuna) it was not as expected. I was expecting a fried tostada loaded with veggies and tuna. What I got was a bowl with veggies, and wonderfully seasoned tuna. I am used to tuna being thinly sliced, but this tuna was in chunks. But no problem because it was delicious served with tortilla chips. All in all, absolutely loved the food, the music was not too loud and I enjoyed dining there. Coco Loko is a great place if you're craving seafood in a relaxed atmosphere. Came in for dinner. The place is located in a kind of mall and was somewhat difficult to locate at first. Parking was also a little difficult to find nearby due to this. Despite this, the food once we were seated was solid. My friend and I split 2 courses, a large seafood tower and the ceviche borracho for 2. We are big eaters but it was more food than we could handle which is good because you definitely get your money's worth. The flavor and spice of the 2 dishes were on point. The seafood itself was not rubbery or flavorless, like the kind you would normally experience with frozen seafood. I thought the beers that came with the ceviche worked perfectly with our meal. The atmosphere is very relaxed and has a bar so it's a decent place to unwind after a long day. The staff was friendly and attentive. The sauce accompanied had no flavor. We started off with the nachos. Truthfully, they were pretty subpar. We decided to get their tacos since that was what people raved about online. I order 2 fish tacos and an octopus. This plate revived me because it was absolutely incredible. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. I'm not sure why this place isn't packed! We came for taco Tuesday ($2) and let me tell you these are amazing tacos, generous with the filling and toppings. Their shrimp cocktail was great too and not shy with their shrimps. Tacos: octopus, shrimp and fish. All served with coleslaw (creamy based) avocado, cilantro and a chipotle salsa on the side. Be warned that the fish onea have onion, tomato and jalapeños so if you're not into that, ask them to remove it. I would give them 5 stars but their chips and salsa need some work, it's not bad but not great and also I tried two items from their menu, need to come and try other things to rank them a full 5. Our waitress was nice and explained everything on the menu. We ordered the nachos and elote with papa Lokas ( fresh made potato chips).. toppings were definitely good. The Elote was good never had it before so it was a new taste, not amazing not bad. It really was good when you dipped your chip in it. The wings were done to perfection for the hubby and my seafood was fresh and I really enjoyed it. Warning they give you a lot of food - I could not even finish. The margarita was supper yummy and did not have the sour after bite. However I did not like the Michelada it just was not for me. It took a little bit to get the food so if your looking for something fast this is not the spot for you. The food is made to order which I like. My family and I were visiting from out of town we drove all the way from California, looking for some delicious El Paso food. But unfortunately that was not the case at this location. The mariscos or food in general were disgusting, the reviews really let us down. Kids meal looked like they had gotten it from a frozen box and just heated up in a microwave, the cóctel de camarón and campechana were not edible at all the fish tacos were not fish tacos. We had expressed our feelings to the waiter but he still proceed to charge us $150 for non edible food that we did not eat. This is a let down for El Paso. read more
