That was a disappointment since the empanadas and burritos could have used some heat. What I don't get is the online order getting messed up. Eaten here several times, I just honestly think it could use more flavor to be quite blunt. Tried the pork, chicken, and shrimp either as a taco, burrito, or bowl and firmly believe things could be kicked up a notch on flavor. Was craving tacos super bad and didn't feel like driving to NYC. So I came across this place. I had chicken tacos ( street style ) And a beef burrito also guac and chips my wife had shrimp tacos. The chicken tacos didn't have much flavor. The guacamole "is made fresh" but comes already prepackaged which takes away from the fresh experience. The burrito barely had any beef. The shrimp tacos were good. The service could of been a better. We didn't get any napkins so I had to get up and go inside to get them. This place packs some serious heat! I had a bowl out here with chicken, cilantro rice, pico de gallo, lettuce, corn, and cheese, and it was really good. I know the bowl sounds bland, but it's because I'm trying to eat clean. So I can't even imagine how good it'd taste if I just wanted to feast. The quesadillas here are really good, too. I received a $25.00 gift card for Los Compadres in Dec. 2019, right before Covid lock down. I have not been out since March 13, 2020, as I am high risk. Yesterday I called to place an order and use the card. I was told they don't honor gift cards and would not honor mine as they supposedly changed their systems. I find this was wrong and uncalled for, due to circumstances beyond anyone's control! I did not throw out the cards, but I will not patronize a place that does show good faith by honoring a gift card. I will make sure that friends know what happened and ask them not to patronize Los Compadres. There are other good Mexican places in town and surrounding towns such as Tio Taco. As soon as you walk in! The guy at the register yells "Hola Primo!! " You feel welcomed! The place is clean and well staffed! I tried the bowl . Made my own bowl. What i never had before was the cilantro rice which was interesting to try. The chicken was kinda like a stew with tomato. Not my favorite but it wasn't bad. My friend had a bowl too with chicken cutlet it was better than the stew style chicken. I had green apple soda that was also interesting. I used 3 different hot sauces that they offered. They were all good but i personally liked the dark green it was the most spicy one. There are 2 tables inside max 10 maybe 12 people can sit. Also the table next to us asked for chipotle mayo. They were from rockland county New York. They were down for a doctor appointment and the guy said he came here last time and on his second doctor visit he said he had to bring his wife here. They both seemed to be enjoying the food. Our food came out fast. I want to go have the tacos there. When i was showing the pictures to my Mexican friend he said the black tortillas look homemade and authentic. With so many taco places and most of them in my opinion not being good i am hopping this one stands out and gives the right amount of flavor and taste in the taco. This is probably the best Mexican place I've tried in the area. It's a small place with minimal seating, but we ordered our food for pickup. The staff was very warm and friendly when we arrived to pick up our food. We ordered burritos and I got a bowl that I created myself with salad, ground beef, guacamole, pico and cheese, which I devoured. It was delicious and my parents also enjoyed their burritos. The only negative is I asked for a side of guacamole and chips and they gave very little guacamole so would recommend asking for extra. The chips are also very tasty. I was craving tacos and I remember passing by this small restaurant on my way to mood food. Best decision my husband and I made all day ! The food was beyond our expectation. These tacos are some of the best tacos I've ever had. They were delicious and very filling. I thought I'd have to buy more than 3 but I was good with just these three! I've been here a few times and have never had a bad meal. I usually get the carnitas burrito which is delicious. This last visit, I got an assortment of tacos and a Tinga quesadilla. The carnitas tacos were a little dry and the cilantro was inexplicably on the bottom instead of sprinkled on top, but they were still good. I finally got a chance to stop in at Los Compadres today. I've heard good reviews from a couple of people so went in with high expectations. Since it was my first time I wanted to try a little bit of everything, so I ordered the fish, al pastor and carnitas tacos and I unfortunately was not blown away by any of them. I agree with the other reviews everything was a bit bland, even the guac which was probably my biggest disappointment lol. I will say the staff was very nice and friendly and the fresh Tamarindo juice was amazing! Since it's nearby my place I'll probably go in again just for tamarindo juice. read more

Wanted to try Los Compradres for a while considering I pass by there almost everyday. It's fairly small but has outdoor seating. We ordered guacamole and it was good but I would've liked to see a bigger portion served. The chips were good too. I ordered the special Burrito with calamari in it, it was delicioso! My daughter ordered chicken quesadilla and she wouldn't share, so we suspect that it was good. The horchata water was refreshing too. The service was impeccable and very accommodating. A couple of my girlfriends and I decided to get some tacos tonight for dinner and we were inspired by the pictures on Yelp to set foot at this eatery. We were very pleased with our experience here!! As we sat down, an employee behind the counter had come over to us bringing over some menus and asked us if we wanted anything to drink and we asked for tap water. We ordered the supreme nachos with brisket which were so generously portioned to feed 4 or more I feel like. The chips were thicker than the generic nachos I've gotten which made them so much more tastier and I feel like I got full off that pretty quick. I ordered one of the specials of the day called the naked burrito bowl which had calamari, shrimp, veggies, beans, and rice. This was also portioned pretty big as I could only finish almost half. One of my girlfriends ordered the chicken quesadilla and I've never seen so much chicken and cheese packed in one big tortilla... I love this place so much!! Tasty tacos! We ate tortilla soup, beef tongue taco and Al Pastore taco. OMG! Absolutely great flavors here. Everything came out hot, even though we arrived late to eat in around 8 PM. My favorites were tortilla soup and Al pastore taco. Perfect heat on taco, I like my food spicy! Beef tongue taco came with mild and habanero sauses, didn't try habanero but mild (orange) sauce was really nice and hit the spot. Prices are good for high quality, natural ingredients. Been coming here for some time but lately it's been hit or miss. When the owner is there the food is on point and orders are done accurately. When he's not in that's when inconsistencies arise. Both instances when the owner was not there: On my prior order they mixed up the protein on my meal. Not a huge deal but when you are in the mood for a certain protein a mix up can be annoying. On my last visit my burrito was dry and lacking flavor. They forgot the sour cream and were doing too many things at once and mixed up my 2 orders with the contents. I'm not sure who would order a dry burrito but that's how mine came even though I specified everything on it. This has happened more than once as well. They also did not mark each item we ordered so it was a mystery opening each one. There is a reason the competitors have an assembly line process and build your food in front of you asking each step of the way what ingredients you want. read more

Anyway we got the bowls where you add your rice, beans, vegetables, meat. It was super delicious. The meats were being cooked while we were there and the vegetables were all very fresh.
