Lo's just finished an overhaul of the walls and ceiling on a 23' X 13' basement room in my home. The outcome was outstanding. I couldn't be more pleased. The job was somewhat difficult as it involved updating a room that had 1970's paneling glued and nailed to two walls, wallpaper on two walls, and a ceiling that had "popcorn" texture recently removed. The underlying drywall was a mess with over cut electrical outlets, holes, gouges, and tears in the taping. My desire was to have all the drywall repaired and painted with a brocade texture on the ceiling and an orange peel texture on the walls. I received bids from eight contractors. Lo's wasn't the lowest bid but they were within the bottom third. I had some similar work done on another part of my home about seven years ago so I had some knowledge of the process. When I interviewed contractors I wasn't just concerned about cost. I wanted to be confident about their ability to do the work in a timely manner and at the quality level I wanted in my home. I disqualified 50% of the contractors because they were generalists and didn't really seem to understand drywall. Of the remaining contractors, Lo's rose to the top because they were the most competitive in price, had the most experience and met my expectations of professionalism. When the initial work was completed, Lo's called me and asked how things turned out. I told the office I was very satisfied but there was a tricky spot in a doorway where I couldn't finish the base of the wall with molding because it was tight and the molding would prevent the door from opening. The office sent a crew back that used their drywall magic to finish the wall to the floor at no extra cost. The whole team was a pleasure to work with. I always felt the office staff, the owner and the craftsmen were most interested in my satisfaction and were very communicative and accommodating. read more

Just had most of the house interior painted by Lo's. The owner, Amadou Lo, came out the day after I called his business for a quote. He was very thorough going thru the house and with his estimate, which was right on when it was finished. He is a very nice and explains the process. I received the quote via email within 45 min. after he came out. You will love Amadou. He told me the truth--no, I shouldn't paint the garage if I'm going to rent the house---not worth the money. He could've 'sold' me on it, but he isn't the type of person to sell you on things you don't need. He called me every step of the way, which I wanted. He even dealt with having to call my land line and cell to get a hold of me. BTW, his crew started shortly after I accepted the bid. Almost a whole house in one and a half days including some drywall repair, which was excellent! He uses a lockbox for his crew. The paint job was what I asked for. A few little errant dribbles which he is willing to clean up. (I can clean them--it's not bad at all) Work is guaranteed for a couple of years. He is the type of business person I wish I could deal with all the time. He is A #1 in my book! You will love Amadou. He is great! BTW, I thought the price was fair, probably less expensive than others. I did get another bid from another company on AL and I think I got a whole better deal and thoughtfulness. Call Lo's! I was very apprehensive about taking on the exterior painting of my home. My lack of experience dealing with construction and contractors caused me to keep putting off the work that needed to be done so desperately. In comes Amadou of Lo's Contracting. I totally agree with another commenter that Amadou is charming, among other things. He is also patient, accommodating, helpful, genuine and professional. However, unscrupulous and dishonest, he is not. He was upfront and honest from estimate to final payment. His crew was just as outstanding! They showed up, for the most part on time, and communicated with me when there was any change in schedule (mainly due to weather). They were patient with me even when I changed a trim color the very day they were to paint the trim. They were great to work with and as others stated, went the extra mile to get things exactly as I wanted. I would recommend Lo's Contracting confidently to anyone, and I have. We just finished doing a major remodel for a house my daughter bought (my husband and I are both Realtors). Working with contractors is always a tricky proposition when comes to scheduling and showing up on time. I made the apt. for a sheetrock repair 'bid' two weeks in advance and received a call from the office the day before to confirm. Lo showed up exactly on time and went thru the house talking about what we wanted done. His bid was emailed to me within an hour of him leaving the house (ipads are wonderful) and we felt the price was very fair for all the work that needed to be done. The workers showed up as scheduled around 9am and worked until the job was done at about 6. They papered the windows and floors, which I had them leave so we could start paining the next day without spending the time to do it ourselves. We had our house pressure washed by Lo's Contracting. We were supposed to do an exterior painting. The house was so clean after the pressure wash that we decided to do the painting in 2 years.
