The Katy Mills Mall location is my usual location, though I've been to three others, and they all serve consistent and consistently excellent Tex Mex food. The La Bonita is my go-to combination, though lately I've been trying other options, all of which have been good. Their red and green salsas are both among the best I've had. The service is typically very good, though I find it best to avoid the busiest times. read more

We live in Cinco Ranch/Katy and have been fo this rest. twice ready... the 1st time it was less than mediocre. This time we decided to give them another chance. ... BIG Mistake! As we came, we were charged, had to pay for our food "ahead of time", "before even gettinv seated". They will never changed and really dont care about the patrons, to have to pretty much "beg" for a drink, water, etc is completely unacceptable and very disrespectful fo say the least! Excellent service. Very quick and got complicated order right. Food very bland. No spice. Salsa is good only if you don't like it spicy. Food is fresh, but again very bland so it makes it hard to eat. $2 margaritas during lunch is a positive. But if you are hungry, you might need to pass this one up and pick a different place. read more

This doesn't quite live up to the other los Cucos restaurants reputations. We were well cared for, the food was very delicious. I noticed some of the employees were laughing at the Mariachi band and then I noticed the singer looks like JJ Watt, then I noticed he was holding a cell phone to read the words it was clear that he didn't know the words to the songs he was singing. Mothers Day brunch disaster. Sat us in the back where there was a large monster drink. Large monster drink and a toddler do not mix. Spilt all over us. Drinched in monster. I mean soaking wet, sticky and smelled disgusting. Our very nice dry clean clothes ruined for the evening. I asked for a manager, did they ever come? We have been coming to this same Los Cucos for years, as our office is just down the road from them. The food taste has not been the same quality, and we don't get very good service any time we go or cater food to our office. Today, we ordered regular fajitas, and the woman who took our order on the phone ordered us something completely different (with a $7 more price difference), and did not specify on the phone how much the total would be, even when asked. When we arrived, the manager continued to argue with us in regards to which one we ordered, and how much the price was. The menu we pulled up online AND on our phones (in front of him) he said was an old PDF and continued to argue!! He actually went back to his office and pulled it up on the computer as well and then came out and said that we actually had ordered something else (when clearly the order taker at the front desk messed up), and that we had to pay that price. The right thing to do would be the honor that price that was online or fix the order with what we originally meant to order. He didn't give us that option, he quickly snatched up our waiting debit cards and swiped it before even coming up with a solution to fix it. We will NEVER come here again, the food isn't all that great anyway, and we will definitely will not cater for our company/clients AGAIN!! (And we cater almost once every 2 weeks or so). read more

It appeared to be more driven by the buffett more than anything else. Went on Sunday at about 1130. Food was bland but was fairly priced. Nothing to rave about but nothing too terrible either. Came here for a family dinner and the food tonight was not good. The beef fajitas were not edible, they had a very strange taste as if the meat was bad. The carnitas were almost completely fat, though they did get replaced with better pieces. Went to eat here with a friend who ordered the infamous fried avocado and fish taco and she was not disappointed, I however did not fare so well. I ordered the nachos.... Who can mess up nachos??!! Los Cucos can mess up nachos! The first plate came and the food was already Luke warm, and very skimpy cheese, I sent them back and the next plate had the cheese, but the chips still tastes stale. I've been going to the chain for years now, and my favorite is the shrimp quesadillas. I can't sit here and say enough good things about this place. I usually go to the one on clay road, but I have to say they did an excellent job at this location!! Adrian our waiter did such a great job was attentive but wasn't hovering over our table. The food was excellent really recommend the fajitas and their poblano sauce!! Today we reserved a space for 60 people for lunch for our school. In spite of there being so many of us, the space was comfortable, the climate was nice and cool, the service was great. I went there two weeks ago for lunch. Ordered El Palenque, price in the lunch menu $9.99 but in the bill was $12.99 Their defense was the price in their computer only show the dinner price. Today i cane again just to test them, my fajita was $9.99 in lunch menu but again billed for $13.99!! Moral of story : if you go for lunch, match your bill with the price in their lunch menu. If you shy to ask to look at their lunch menu at the register before you pay, at take a picture of your food price you order from your lunch menu. This happened to me twice. Arrived before lunch on Sunday. Was seated promptly- but it went down hill from there. Server took drink orders then disappeared for 15 minutes before returning to take our lunch order. Other patrons who arrived after us began receiving their lunch orders - ours was MIA. When lunch finally arrived it was lukewarm at best. Giving 3 stars because the spicy margarita was really yummy. I got the stuffed avocado which they should salt before frying. It had so much cheese! "Tortilla soup" tasted exactly like olive gardens minestrone soup. Nothing like tortilla soup! Service was sooo slow (Roman) but the guy also at the area helped us with another beer and clearing our table. Husband enjoyed his meal but roman got the order wrong. Seldom, if ever, have I had such a combination of bad service and terrible food. This was a relatively uncrowded Monday night, but the waiter had no trouble forgetting we were there. The chili con queso was watery and tasteless. The enchiladas were bitter, lumpy, and lukewarm. The tamal was inedible. The beef fajitas tasted like they had spent an hour under a heat lamp. I eat a lot of Mexican food and this is the worst of I've had in Texas. Do yourself a favor and skip Los Cucos. read more
