I order Chili Verde every where I go & Los Dos Potrillos chefs created a spicy dish, packed with meat with a luscious green citrus & herby sauce. We had a great time talking about the difference in our new home and how we want our rooms to look whole enjoying amazing food. Now after a year of living here I've come to enjoy their Taco Tuesdays. My husband and I came again. I was craving the langostinos. We walked in on a Saturday around 6PM. You walk in and immediately get a shot of the bar. Music is blaring and it's some top 30 stuff. We were immediately seated. Love the decor of the place and love the dining furniture. It's so well crafted, heavy duty and just feels authentic. We were greeted my a nice waitress. All of the employees are wearing masks and they offer hand sanitizer at the hostess booth. I also watched them clear a table and use a sanitizing agent on it to wipe it down. I had to deduct a start unfortunately because my husband ordered a shrimp and Carne asada plate. The shrimp was good but the Carne asada didn't take right. Almost as if they fried up some meat that was at the bottom of the marinated container. It tasted fried...in old grease. Please don't be a Mexican restaurant whom serves nasty Carne asada..thats just pitiful. You then have music blaring from the bar and then have separate juke box music competing in the dining area along with ppl trying to have conversation over the dueling music genre's. May just have to order my langostinos to go and not order anything else which means I have to go elsewhere for my family and in that case maybe not. read more

5 star service, but the food was disappointing. We were greeted and seated quickly by a very energetic and friendly gentleman. The smell of lysol/pinesol/whatever they mop their floors with hits your nose before the smell of food, and honestly if I came in here alone I wouldn't have stayed. We ordered micheladas to get started and looked over the menu flooded with pictures. Once ordered, the food took a decent amount of time to come out, which got me excited because I felt like it's fresh and being made to order. First dish was the mussels appetizer. Lucky there's enough spice to hide majority of the fishy flavor, but sadly it couldn't hide the rubbery texture. I asked the waiter for a recommendation on a meat dish and went with the special mix of shrimp and meat and veggies with a side of rice and beans. This dish looked like a mess, someone please figure out how to make beans look prettier, but tasted slightly better than it looked- I picked out the few pieces of meat and shrimp but something tasted off. It could have been just a whiff of whatever they were mopping the floor with, should have really held that off until after closing. They must be doing something right, I think this restaurant has lasted longer than any other in this location, but there's better places in town to spend your money on. read more

So today we visited Dos potrillos in Los Bamos and unfortunately it was a terrible experience, my husband ordered a fried fish (mojara frita) and there was a piece of plastic in the rice, he said he was chewing and chewing but it seemed too tough so he took it out and it was a plastic , he was almost done but it grossed both of us soo much we stopped eating. We told the worker that served our food and she only apologized a 2 or 3 times and offered to give us more rice and took the wrong plate that had the rice for my food, she didn't even asked where it was on what plate, oh well at the end of the day it was not her fault cause she's not the cook. First impression, nobody greeted us. Restaurant was empty. We stood there until someone came and told us to sit anywhere we wanted. We ordered camarones El Kora (they were okay, wouldn't get them again, try them at Islitas in Lodi, they're bomb!) I got a campechana (never again, tasted too much like lemon) and my husband got aguachiles verdes (he enjoyed). I got an agua de Jamaica (tasted like nothing). My husband got a lemonade (he says it was fine lol). We only got forks so we had to hunt someone down for spoons. We never saw our waitress come check up on us the whole time we were there, AND IT WAS EMPTY NOT EVEN BUSY! Same thing when we wanted to pay, we had to hunt someone down for it. I thought this place was going to be a great additional add on to los Banos restaurants. Food is good and service would be a bonus IF they had great employees who were not rude ! Michelada was so good can't complain! But our server took forever in getting our order and always came to the table behind us more frequently then they did with us. Ordered our check to pay our bill and it honestly took them more than half hour while they went and helped everyone else. When we asked again to get our bill it seemed like the waitress was so bothered that we were even trying to pay our bill. Just happen to stop by this absolute jewel of culinary culture. Some of the best Mexican food we have tasted in a long time. The only thing better was the friendly attentive service. The taco has no flavor at all but the tortillas were good!! The chef needs to make fresh items everyday and not cut corners and destroyed the image of the plate just to save some tomatoes also more flavor!! Just got done eating at Los Dos Potrillos Bar & Grill and was not too impressed. They had a lot of food options but the food was good,not exceptional. Also the silverware was child size and only got a fork.I've had a lot better here in town even from a taco truck. The service was terrible as it took a long time to even ask us our drinks. The server never came & checked on us. We also got the wrong tortillas.We were right there in front & not even in the back. Never asked if we needed refills of our drinks or chips & salsa. At the end we asked for to go containers & she gave us the wrong ones. Then the check came & she gave the wrong check. Good thing I checked it. Because I usually don't. Just.
