For my birthday, I planned on having a quiet day at home to relax and recover from life's happenings. Well, my neighbor invited me to lunch at Los Fogones! I'm sooo glad I decided to leave the house. The food was absolutely delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly! And there's a special yellow sauce that can be paired with it which is just scrumptious!! Our waitress /hostess was very attentive to our needs and she realized I was celebrating a birthday and brought me a whipped brownie dessert. Usually, at the end of a meal I cannot eat dessert but the food was well portioned and not too heavy so I enjoyed the brownie goodness while they were warm. It was after rush hour so there were only two others dining while we enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere was very peaceful. I'll be back! read more

I was really upset by the experience here. While the host Evelyn V seemed nice at first, it was disappointing and disgusting to hear her speaking negatively about me once I was out of earshot -- or at least she thought I was. For a place that wasn't busy and pretty much empty, the attitude just didn't make sense. If there's an issue, it's much more respectful and tactful to address it directly or just let it go. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere over something so simple. UPDATE: I only left one star because unfortunately there isn't a zero star option. I previously left a comment about the poor and unprofessional service, and unfortunately, the food didn't redeem the experience. The "fried" rice, meant to be arroz chaufa, was just okay -- the chicken was extremely dry, and I've definitely had better elsewhere. The other rice was plain and lacked any seasoning or flavor, making it quite dull. The beans were particularly disappointing -- they tasted off, almost rancid, couldn't even continue eating them. As for the sauces that Evelyn V had such an issue with, the yellow one was thick and barely passable, while the green sauce was mostly just oil with herbs, lacking any real depth or flavor. The only decent part of the meal was the rotisserie chicken, but even that was underwhelming in size for what was supposed to be a whole chicken. For a better experience, I'd recommend Alpaca Chicken over this place any day. read more

The seafood soup accompanying the meal was something I've never tasted to be so delicious, loads of scallops and shrimp with a nice kick created by Carlos who came out to speak with us. Five stars for the customer service. Me and my sister arrived at 4pm on a Tuesday knowing the rest of our party wouldn't arrive until 6. We sat at the bar and had delicious drinks. We tried the pork belly and empanadas. Let me tell you if I had only eaten the pork belly I probably would have given five stars. It's easily the best thing on the menu. Next is the rotisserie chicken. Honestly everything else was good enough to include which should be a given at a Peruvian place: the rice and beans. Just okay. I went here for Valentine's Day. At first, I was disappointed because I looked at the menu online and had already on what I was going to order. I didn't even think about there being a special menu since it was Vday. They offered a 4 course meal for $60 per person. I wish I would've taken a picture of the menu. For starters, I had a small plate of a bacon wrapped potato, cucumber with some kind of seafood on top, and bread with some sort of butter topping. I also had a pear salad. My appetizer was pretty decent as well as the salad. For my main dish, I had the filet with shrimp, mashed potatoes and asparagus. My filet was absolutely delicious!!! I prefer well done steaks, and this was the juiciest well done steak I've ever eaten!! Everything was seasoned perfectly! For dessert, I ordered the chocolate cake that also came with a chocolate spoon. My only complaint was that my spoon broke almost immediately! After getting another fork, I dug into my dessert. It was so good! The service was great. Our waitress as well as the hostess, and owner (maybe) all came by to check on us periodically. Our wine glasses never stayed empty for long. Even though, we had the wine bottle on our table, the waitress came by to refill. I also had a mojito and Picso Passion (?) drinks. They were amazing! I cannot wait to come back. Food was mediocre Chinese food past off as Peruvian. No substitution on any dishes to keep integrity of the dishes. Sweet plantains were the only latin culture taste in the restaurant. Ask to add chicken to a plate with a fee they said no. Staff were terrified of asking chef's for anything in fear of getting scolded as if they were children. Once food was delivered kitchen staff waited at the entrance to the kitchen to see if we would ask for anything else they added a gratuity fee. And even though the restaurant looked beautiful the kitchen staff scared, waitress, three hundred dollar mediocre food was not worth going there. Wouldn't give any stars just need to get better training on how to treat customers. read more

Really amazing lunch. We stopped by halfway driving home to richmond from myrtle beach. We drove though some kind run down industrial area and neighborhood on the way from the highway, but once inside the place was very clean and looked newly remodeled. Service was great, food was amazing we got a large platter and everything was good in partoculsr the ribs, lamb and ribeye steak. was also amazed how much we got for the price. Easily fed 4 adults and 2 small kids. Server told us they've been in business 15 years and the owner cooks everyday! This was a special find for us. read more

We revisited after a few years! The atmosphere is so welcoming. The manager was so nice! He came and spoke with us. Our waitress was super-nice! The food is amazing! The drinks were so Tasty and refreshing! My husband and I had the Chaufa, mine was chicken and his was steak, very delicious! My sister-in-law BROCHETTES and she loved it, my brother-in-law had KAM LU WONTONS and loved it! We also had empanadas and CEVICHE everything had good flavor and the portions where so big!!!! Considering that we drove more than 40 minutes to eat here, we were very disappointed in the food and more. I know Peruvian food and the Lomo Saltado was overcooked and the price did not reflect the plate. The atmosphere is like eating in a cafeteria. We made reservations and the place was quite empty. They sat us across from the kitchen and the swinging door had a warning sign that was very unattractive. The effort is there but the room is badly lit and badly arranged. This place needs a decorator to fix what is not right. The ceviche was very good but not enough to save my review. The empanada appetizer had to be returned as there was little filling in one and NO filling in the other two. They are located outside a base in town and I think they are taking advantage of their access to residents. I have been to many upscale and downscale Peruvian restaurants but you are better off at a BBQ nearby. The Maserati in the parking lot made me think it was the entitled owner or some nouveau riche person who doesn't know any better. read more

I've never had Peruvian food before, so decided to try this place because one can't miss an opportunity for a new food experience! Walking in, I was the only customer at the time. I was pleasantly surprised at the interior; this place is beautiful! Looked pretty nondescript from the outside. Went to the bar to order takeout. The server was super nice and very helpful answering any questions I had. I settled on the 1/2 rotisserie chicken with 2 sides (I chose mixed veggies and fried yucca). It came with 2 sauces (my choices were the yellow sauce and chimichurri). Also got a cup of the house iced tea, which tasted like it was infused with spices (definitely cinnamon and maybe clove?). I waited only about 10 mins and was on my way with my food. The food was AMAZING. Chicken was well seasoned and moist with nice, crispy skin. Sauces were both tasty, sides were flavorful. And I could drink that iced tea everyday. If you haven't been here, I recommend trying it! read more

OhYum! This place has got it down! Last table of the night and they knock it out with two perfectly charred grill lines on the medium done 10 oz chops on a trimmed bone. Pork tomahawks were devoured in 15 minutes. I especially like that they know how to finish the seasoning with a very light salt on both and a whiff or ground pepper. A Yuca fries were the perfect way to elevate the chops and absorb all the juices into the flavor saver wedges. The only break was to sip some highly addictive clove cinnamon sweet tea. Had dinner back in December but forgot to review. First time eating in but previously picked up ribs to go - talk about fall off the bone delicious!! This time went with a work friend and I had beef friend rice. It again was delicious. My friend had the rotisserie chicken- my-lanta so juicy and delicious. I wish I had ordered this dish (although I enjoyed the fried rice). Need to get back soon for the chicken!! Plus server let us sample the sauces since you only receive one with your food.
