Fast-forward to now, and it's been a slow, painful decline. Today I decided to give it one last shot and ordered the enchiladas. And honestly? This was the farthest thing from enchiladas I've ever had in my life. I don't know if it's because I don't look Mexican and they figured I wouldn't notice, but what they served was borderline insulting. They literally took the salsa you dip chips in, blended it, poured it over dry chicken wrapped in tortillas, threw on some cheese, and sent it out like that. No flavor. No authenticity. Just... sadness. I didn't even take a picture because it wasn't worth taking up space in my phone. That's how bad it was. The only saving grace of the entire experience was the waitress - curly black hair, absolute sweetheart, and the reason I didn't message the restaurant directly to complain. You rock. The menu is extensive. One thing I especially liked was the size choices as many of the items come in your choice of large or in "junior" sizes. To start we had a junior elote "en vaso". It was served in a paper cup with a spoon. Our server brought us another cup so we could share. There was a lot of cheese and mayo in it along with the corn. She brought the bottle of tajine on the side to add. It was good with the spice and a touch of salt. My husband chose the junior burrito combo plate that came with rice and refried beans. He had the ground beef. The junior size was plenty big and the meal was filling. I had a shrimp taco and a steak taco. I had them leave off the onions. They came with lettuce, tomato and cheese. I liked the shrimp taco better. It had lots of small grilled shrimp. The steak one was okay, but the small pieces of meat were rather dry. They gave us two sauces with our meal -- one green and one red. The red was very hot and the green was extremely hot. Gringos beware. Taste a tiny bit first before pouring these over your meal. My husband used the green sauce on his food -- and took a tums when he got home! I'm glad we came to try them. They are already attracting a steady stream of customers.

The corn tortilla's were delicious! They were really soft and the meat was flavorful, but cold. It comes with four and all four had cold meat. The Birria juice was flavorful, but almost cold. I think sometimes when you order from these food apps they have multiple orders to drop off. If they don't have a hot or cold bag to keep it at the temperature it should be, then unfortunately the customer's food suffers. So I'm going to blame it on the the delivery app and actually go to the restaurant in person. I will give them another try and hopefully I'm correct in my assumption. Also I called before I ordered to see if they used fresh seasoning's due to my food allergies. The guy who answered the phone was super sweet and friendly. That's one of the reasons I am going to give this restaurant one more try.
