We came here by chance. We'd tried to go to a new place a few doors down, but when we stopped in there was no one there -- no staff and no customers. So we came here. We've been to other branches of this restaurant. It's authentically Mexican -- not dumbed down spice wise for gringos. So be prepared. My husband got a burrito with ground beef and rice and beans. I got their Mexican shrimp cocktail. There was a ton of small shrimp mixed with a very spicy tomato/ketchup sauce and tomato pieces and onions -- all topped with avocado. A few packages of crackers were served on the side. It was good, but I had to eat slowly to adjust to the peppery taste. And the "small" order was more like a large. My husband's burrito was packed with everything. It was large enough that he took half home for a later meal. He said it was very good. Lunch for the both of us was $15, tacos were $2 each. Pur lunch was brought to our table in about 5 minutes. Portions were generous, packaging kept foods in place. Having lived there for 58+years I think I know my authentic Mexican food. I've tried hacienda, la Bamba and of course El Camino out of those three El Camino hands down the best, however having tried a couple of different things at T.A.C. Humble and attentive service as well as good prices in this Tacos Al Carbon location. This spot is located off of Congress and Melaleuca on the East Side of Palm Beach County in Lakeworth. Few minutes from Boynton Beach, and totally worth the stop. There's a few other locations, but I cannot stress that this spot is closer to the south and still an awesome alternative. I usually get tacos, pineapple juice and elotes. I must note that the only thing I wish this location had was the elotes but that's about it. First time and recommended by park employee where I stay. I've had a lot of tasty tacos burritos in my time but this place is a gem. It's even open 24hrs I especially love the fish tacos and burritos. Everything I have eaten has been amazing and the portions are amazing. They also have live entertainment. I've gone there twice and can't wait to go back again for the amazing nachos as well. It does get a little crowded and loud due to the music but it's a happy place to be with friends and family as well. Takes time with orders but it's fresh and delicious. went on a date here a few weeks ago and got the carnitas tacos they charge extra if you want a flour tortilla instead of taco. which is not that bad. the service is iffy they serve the people dining in quicker than the to go orders. Al Carbon is easily a staple for west palm/palm beach county. There's like half a dozen of them peppered in the area, and they all have little variations. The main one obviously is the food truck with roasted corn cup station. There's also the one location that took over from a pizza place.... and now they serve pizza there. Because why not? This spot is actually pretty hidden, but it's the most accessible from i95. It also has the most seating room with sit down table service. The menu is identical and you're getting the same Food, for the most part. The one thing, that seems to be a trait for every single one of these places, is that your order will always be about 80-90% accurate. You ask for flour tortillas.... you get corn. Food is great! I come here at least two times a week but do NOT go to the side window late at night. If you do you will get a miserable Spanish lady with an upper lip piercing and she is the rudest person I have ever met. I asked for my meal to have no cheese or sour cream on it because I'm lactose intolerant and when I got it it had sour cream, had to go back and I told her that there was sour cream on it and she started getting an attitude and remade it. I get in my car opened the box and it had no sour cream but cheese. I went back to the window and the lady says 'what now?!?' And I told her that I am lactose intolerant I asked for no sour cream or cheese and you put cheese on it. She rudely scrapes off the bit of cheese and there's still cheese on it and hands it back to me. I didn't accept it and asked her to remake it because I'm allergic. She refused and the customers behind me demanded she make me a new one because all of their orders were messed up as well or missing items.
