I almost walked out as the place looks slightly sketchy probably because of my paranoia because it wasn't in a very populated area but I saw three Mexican families chowing down and all the wives said we stopped cooking since we found this restaurant it's not gourmet not over the top it's just good salad Mexican food that'll leave you clamoring for more I will tell you they are tortillas are fresh handmade that alone is worth the trip read more

My daughter and I decided to have tacos for dinner. We were staying at an AirBNB close by and decided to go to Elvira's. She ordered a jamaica water and I order a Michelada. We ordered tacos de bistec and de lengua. The tacos de lengua were tasty and fresh. The meat in bistec tacos were a bit over cooked but still flavorful. The tacos came with tortillas de mano (corn hand made tortillas). I like that they are not dipped in oil and just cooked naturally. As with everything now, it is getting a bit pricey. read more

Food was just ok but i felt it a bit overpriced. Service was good, food was prepared promptly.

The food quality is very poor here. The cut size of the meat is the same as bacon bits And they charge top dollar! The service is ok they do not come to your table and ask if you need anything you have to flag down your waitress if you want anything. read more

First of all as the top review writes in all cap who says this restaurant is now called Diana's doesn't seem correct since I was literally just there and it is plainly in very large letters Elvira. The reviews seem to be 1 or 5 star which makes me think this is a consistency issue. My experience was so disappointing. The service was friendly and melon juice was delicious but that is where it ended. I had an enchilada - rice was lukewarm and crumbly , the enchilada sauce was dry and flavorless and tortilla absolute mush. This was obviously left over and reheated and had no flavor at all. I remember when this place was a in a small plaza down the street and they only had takeout service. The food is great but the service is piss pour. I work in the industry and I'm a very patient person but the really need help in that department. It might also be that a lot of people don't tip well either. That's why the service may suck. I'm from out of town and decided to try this since it had good reviews. I was there around 2 pm for lunch and there were only two other people in the restaurant. I'm not sure the wait staff understands much English. When I walked in, the girl behind the counter just stood there staring at me. She finally pointed at a table and went into the back to get someone else. The food was ok. The chips were stale and they only had canned soda. I got the chicken burrito with beans and rice. It was pretty good. Prices are comparable to other Mexican restaurants I've been to. This would not be my first choice again. read more

Went to this place last week to try some Mexican food, and to be honest i didn't like the food I try the gorditas with pastor, cheese and carne asada and well the pastor one it barely had carne with a lot of lettuce and cheese and the other one which was carne asada didn't had no meat at all . Took the cheese one to eat at my house and after I eat that it make my stomach in a lot of pain took some pills and let it be wishing that it will go away with it and it didn't it has been a week and I'm still in pain I went to the Dr and he told me it's a bacteria and the last thing I did was this damn gorditas . I came here with my boyfriend for a Saturday lunch and they had several tables seated (with distance, of course). I ordered 2 cheese Gorditas with rice and beans and he ordered the red enchiladas. They brought us chips and salsa while we waited. The salsa was watery for lack of a better word, but not bad just not chunky at all. The food was alright; it did the job but wasn't amazing. The service and people were nice. They have really nice decor and they play music. Overall, this place is good for a quick meal but it wasn't amazing. I did like the authenticity though. read more

I've been going to this place since it was in its last location down the street. Same owner probably close to 16 years. I've never had a bad meal. If you are looking for a silver dining experience don't go here but if you want authentic Mexican food prepared fresh every day, this is your place. Typical experience: You get seated by a hostess in darkish restaurant. "Your server's name is blah blah blah." Your overly talkative server arrives armed with a barrage of drink and food specials designed to make you spend more $$$ so he/she can get a bigger tip, of course. Not so at Diana's. This is a genuine, typical Taqueria: Menus and wall displays with badly photographed food dishes; fluorescent lights--not a good place for a 1st date; colorfully painted wall murals; CD Jukebox playing only Mexican music; 4 large-screen TVs--only two of which were working, both playing Spanish news and later a popular telenovela). I got PROMPT service here by a fluently bilingual server, not typical of a mom & pop restaurant! The free chips and salsa were homemade. Yummy! The chicken fajitas were functional. In other words there was no flare of presentation like you would get at a chain restaurant with a sizzling fajita grill, but the fajitas were still cooked deliciously. And Surprise! Surprise! The bathroom was more-or-less clean and even included a modern, low-flow toilet and nice floor tiles. Another surprise: Nothing was overly salty like you'd get at a typical chain franchise. First trip:: A dry, salty, Milanesa breaded steak . . . 3rd trip:: Pollo Enchiladas Verdes for 3 trips. Love 'em because the green chile topping makes it All taste good. So I brought my wife. Terrible. I had visited this location a few years back and it was fantastic. I moved back to the neighborhood and decided to give it a whirl. Walked in and the place was filled with Spanish speaking families and found that to be encouraging, we were the only gringos in the place. My wife had the enchiladas which were truly cafeteria grade quality. The sauce on them was dry and the tortillas were a mess with no real consistency to speak of. I had the Chile relleno which also had half melted cheese and no sauce to speak of. The oil it had been fried in must have been old as it tasted funky. The rice was the most overcooked pile of mush and the refried beans were what tasted to be right out of the can. I wanted soooooo badly to have the meal I had enjoyed a few years back. I will give one more try because this places reviews are either one star or five. Hopefully my next attempt will be a fiver.... read more
