Next to Comfort Inn. Asada (steak strips) fajitas and their fresh salsa were surprisingly really good... comparable to LA Mexican restaurants. The beef was tender! Full bar makes the place festive. Friendly staff and chef. Their fresh salsa reminded me of ceviche salsa so I ordered a ceviche tortas which was okay. The fresh salsa was addicting. Would come back again. This place has so many more options than I originally thought. The menu is a little basic in the way it's written. I believe it should definitely highlight the fact they have Barria, because it's an excellent option, that's just thrown in there. Make sure to ask for the tomatillo sauces to go with your chip... they may be a little spicier than the regular salsa. Food was cold. Taco salad was just ok. The Nachos were just tortilla chips with cheddar cheese on them , the salsa was too hot but didn't have much flavor aside from the heat. The worst part is that the restaurant literally smells like shit. Like sewer. Disgusting. Top that with the overwhelming smell of chemicals that they use to try and mask the scent. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will not be back. read more

News of a new restaurant in Fallon sure travels around quickly! Since it doesn't happen too often, I had to check it out. Another restaurant used to be in that location but they moved so I'm glad they got that spot cause it's a good location. Inside was very clean and neatly decorated. The staff were welcoming and attentive. I noticed the owner walking around greeting and chit chatting with the customers which is always nice to see. I could tell he already has regulars. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. It was delicious! For starters, the complimentary chips and salsa..the salsa was actually spicy! I don't see that very often. The salsa always tend to be mild so it was a bonus to find that their salsa has some life to it. As my dish, I got the Al pastor burrito. It was a very generous size and had a good flavor. The guacamole it came with tasted fresh. I was happy with my experience there and will return again. read more

Just went here with my husband and his family and it was definitely worth it!! The staff were so nice and attentive which I really appreciate it! They give you chips and 2 types of "salsas" to start and both has great flavor and taste. The food was also friggin delicious! I got the quesa birria tacos and my husband got the carne Asada burrito. My quesa birria tacos were absolutely amazing. The only complaint I have is that all other quesa birria tacos have been crispy but these ones were soggy which was a bummer but they were still tasty! The consommé was the best I've ever had soooooo much flavor! All in all I'd give the experience a 10/10! read more

This place has gone to the dogs. We went tonight with another couple. Upon entering we were assailed with the smell of cleaning fluid. Our waitress couldn't speak English. She got 3 of 4 of our drinks wrong. The chips and salsa was disgusting, stale chips, gross salsa. We ordered a Queso appetizer, she brought us something that wasn't queso. The Quesadilla was probably cooked before Friday, the Chile verde was lacking. They spread the 6 pieces of meat around the plate to make it look like more. It was dry, tough meat. If you like paying more money for lower quality Mexican food then by all means come here. I caution you on take out - the portions only get smaller and smaller over time. They appear busy because they are on the main Hwy and they are right next to a hotel. The biggest customer base is the transient customers who are traveling. Sure - some locals like it but that's only because it's something "new and shining" In time - the local customers will see through the BS and go back to being customers at the better Mexican restaurant in town which has better prices, better selection, healthy portions and consistently good quality. I can't (won't) support a business that has shady business practices by overcharging, decreasing the quantity and not caring even caring about the quality of the food. DO NOT eat their cabbage mix that comes alongside the chips and salsa (copy cats) - you just may get the worst stomach cramps ever. I am sitting at the bar on an overnight in Fallon on my way home to Oregon. What I have watched for the last 2 hours I have been here drinking fantastic margaritas and eating fantastic food, by a very hard working staff and family. The staff/family here are so friendly, so knowledgeable and fun. Food was cooked perfectly, the margaritas are solid. There is nothing better than a family run restaurant. If I'm ever in Fallon again, this is the only place I would have dinner at. Sitting by the bar I got to see a lot of food coming out of the kitchen and it all looked good. GET THE PASTOR It's an older Denny's style building, so the ambiance is just ok. Appears to be a wide tequila selection which might be nice if we weren't just passing through. Initial intro was a coleslaw sample sort of thing, and the chips and salsa was fine - nothing to write home about specifically. BUT THE PASTOR! Holy Jesus, THE PASTOR was amazing. Super tender, super flavorful. I might make a 45min detour next time I'm headed this way just to have more pastor. Get the pastor. We come here almost weekly! Being from AZ we were desperately missing good Mexican food. This satisfies our crave every time - no one else in town hits the spot like Los Gallos! I've worked in the serving industry and this place wasn't busy enough to have such terrible service. One time being here and I won't tell anyone about this place or ever come back. They sat us down took our orders and never came back. Hour later we are still there with no refills of drinks or anymore chips. The bartender would look over at us like 5 times and just keep serving other tables and refilling there glasses and giving chips and salsa and would literally walk right by and say nothing. Like i said in the beginning this place was not that busy to be ignored like that. Him and the waitress both would look at our table each time they were passing. We were as polite as can be and didn't understand what we could have done to have such crap service. Food never came out and we were there over an hour. read more

The chips were surprisingly good however the service not so great..the man went to every other table but ours after we ordered 15 minutes later he could clearly see that I was out of water nope didn't care he left the dirty chip and salsa bowls on the table after they were gone ( 2chip bowls, 2 salsa bowls) didn't care to take them off either I finally got up after 30 minutes and set them up on the bar this went on for at least an hour he acknowledged every table around us but ours filled the table next to us water chips and salsa at least three times made me feel unwanted and unwelcome I will never go back to bad for them I am an amazing tipper after about an hour of nothingness my family and I just got up and walked out. read more
