This place has been under construction for quite some time now and finally opened for business this week. It's been packed everyday at lunch, and for good reason. Good, solid restaurant with good food and attentive service from the staff. As you'd expect, chips & salsa to begin the meal. I also asked if they had a hotter spiced salsa option available. She brought out a tomatillo based salsa that was a bit spicier, but not over-the-top. I would like something even hotter. Light me up! Both salsas tasted very fresh and were a good balance of chunky and sauce. I personally prefer more chunky, leaning towards a pico de gallo. I ordered the Mexican omelette, but substituted chorizo for the ham and added grilled onions and peppers like you'd get with fajitas. It also came with rice. Everything tasted great! Stopped at Jalapeños today and it was pretty good. The restaurant itself is huge! We were seated quickly. Our server was at our table with chips and salsa within a minute or so. We had our drinks shortly after. The service was great. I ordered the Chicken and Steak fajitas. They were pretty good. I didn't feel like the steak quality was great, but over all it was good. The fajitas did have flavor and the portion was on the large side. My GF ordered the Carnitas Burrito. It was alright in my opinion. I feel like the meat was dry so I took a bite and let her choke on the rest. Overall, it's worth a stop if you want to satisfy your craving for Mexican. read more

Went here on recommendation of the hotel desk. What a great surprise. Service was fast, efficient but not overly friendly. The food was very different from your standard Mexican dishes and very good. After 6 weeks in Florida who could have guessed the best shrimp I had was in a small Mexican restaurant in Tennessee. The shrimp chimichanga was outstanding. I would go back here in a heartbeat. My wife and I wanted to give this place a try since we were in the mood for a evening out at a nice restaurant. The other reviews showed that it had some good potential so with two hungry souls looking for a new Mexican restaurant we came inside to a newly built restaurant that, from the decor and architecture, said MEXICAN! We were greeted quickly, shown a booth and had chips and salsa set before us expediently - so far so good. We ordered our drinks (iced tea) while looking over the menu for some good vegetarian options. We found guacamole casero, a small mushroom quesadilla, vegetarian fajitas, and the vegetarian portion of one menu page with "Vegetarian Combinations" which were the usual six or so options of burritos, cheese enchiladas, chalupas, and a few others thrown in to try to make you feel like the place is vegetarian friendly. Nope, just what is on the menu - no nachos vegetarian, or substituting beef for beans in any of their other other meals. Basically what we have on the menu is it, no getting creative for the veggie customers. We finally ended up getting and sharing the guacamole casero and the vegetarian fajitas. They were delicious! The grilled fajitas had the perfect blend of broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, onions, peppers and whatever else was in them all seasoned to perfection. There was enough that afterward we didn't even need dessert. The only drawback that we noticed was that our server was slow on keeping our drinks refilled, and when we were ready for the bill he wasn't around until we started to walk towards the cashier then he suddenly appeared. We were disappointed many times over through our experience here. The service want good, the food wasn't good... My tacos came with just meat and no garnishment, sent it back....got it back and the carnitas were so rubbery I spit them out and didn't even eat them. They had to have been sitting a very long time. The Carne asada was ok. We had to ask like 3 times for my husbands food which showed up when I was pretty much done eating. Stopped in on our way back north on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty busy, but we were seated instantly, had chips and salsa on the table practically before we sat down, and were asked for our drink order. There was a gap between getting our drinks and placing our order, but once again it was on the table very quickly. My husband had the authentic tacos, very good, and I had the pollos con guacamole. The guac was great; I just wished there'd been a little more chicken and less green pepper, and the tomatoes in it had some hard places. What I liked about Los Jalepenos was the excellent service and the restaurant is huge so it was easy to get in there for dinner.
