Wife wanted Mexican & SHE suggested Las Lupes. She ordered chicken and fajita nachos. She liked the chicken more than the beef. Beef was like a cubed beef that I thought was tasty. I ordered 3 pork empanadas. Should have only ordered 2 as with rice, beans and chips, 3 was too much and took it home. Also ordered a single tamale to see if they were as good as they used to be. They were building this place forever and today when I drove by I saw it was open. Ordered the fajita combo nachos, honestly super good. The star of the show was the hot sauce though, it was spicy in a great way. Had my nose running, which is rare for a hot sauce. Delicious place, nice staff. Food, ambiance & service was good. What I didn't like was the bill. The menu stated El Toro margaritas for $5.95 + $1.00 for flavored. The bill was $9.65, per drink, for mango margarita which is $3.00 more per drink. Also, the menu showed chorizo with egg breakfast taco for $2.95 + $0.25 for cheese but was actually charged $4.43, per taco, + $0.25 for cheese which is $1.48 more. I shouldn't have to question if pricing is correct on my bill so I will NOT be visiting that restaurant any longer. read more

Fantastic hidden gem! The food is inexpensive and absolutely delicious and authentic. I had the street taco plate and everything I tried - carne guisada, pastor, and chicken fajita - was delicious on homemade corn tortillas. Waitress was rude when we said we didn't like the flavor of the frozen margarita. it tasted like it had cleaning chemicals or soap in the glass. she rolled her eyes and said " your gonna get me in trouble" and walked away. Very disappointed in my visit here today. I ordered bean & cheese nachos and a Pepsi. When I got my order, the chips were drowning in cheese sauce with tiny bits of beans. Did not enjoy it at all. My waitress didn't come by to check on me or I would have asked for a redo. I ate all but one nacho so I could show what I received. When she did come to my table, I told her I was not happy with my food. The manager came to my table and I explained the situation; that I hadn't intended to involve her, I just wanted someone to know about the food. They clearly dont want white people coming here. Been eating her for a few weeks because the food was good and the quanity to price ratio is good. I tried ordering online and then went to pick up my dinner. I drove through the drive through since I was the only one there and was told I had to come inside. I asked why and got no answer. Parked, went inside and they handed me my order, I asked again and everyone wanted to play dumb and speak Spanish. I asked for the owner who turned out to be the person who told me in the drive thru I had to come in and she started speaking Spanish to her employees instead of answering me. This is Texas honey, most of us gringos abla Español. Insulting your customers when you think that they dont understand you, huge mistake. Absolutely five stars! I was a little leery of a taqueria, I've been to a million taquerias and have always been disappointed. Mexican food is my absolute favorite but I've never found a taqueria that I was happy with. However this place is more than a taqueria, they are a true full restaurant. The food is fresh and amazing, the meats are high quality in the service is absolutely top-notch. The pricing is beyond great. I actually gave a larger tip than normal just because the pricing was so low I had to spend a little more to feel that it was fair. The tamales were undescribable. The meat and the tamale was so luscious and tender full of flavor in texture. I could eat a dozen tamales and still go back for another dozen LOL the cheese enchilada had a great sauce on it and I had a crispy beef taco that was very flavorful. Eat the crispy taco first because it is very greasy and it doesn't hold up very long. But the flavor of the taco was so good that I inhaled it within a few seconds and so the grease didn't have time to do any damage to the crunchy shell. Absolutely will be back on a regular basis. Usually I have I have positive feedback about Los Lupe's, but have been negatively approached by the management in the past, which I over-looked and continued my business. I have made several friends sitting on the patio, which I enjoy, but I have to take a stand when I am ignored with a genuine complaint. This evening I ordered the Happy hour .99 cent rotisserie chicken street tacos. I choked on a bone, not severely but enough to complain. Management came to my table explaining to me that that was normal to find a bone in your chicken. Nobody cared. I received my ticket and expected that the 3 tacos would have been removed from my check. Not that 3 dollars is going to make or break me, but it would have been the correct gesture of the management and establishment to have removed the tacos from the check. If you have a complaint, management does not care to hear it. So be careful of what you order. The impression I received is: it is 99 cent tacos take it or leave it. It is a hit or miss here; you have to catch them on a good day, they are full of excuses otherwise. read more
