The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was on the pricey side, but they serve you a hearty portion, so it balances out. They offered complimentary chips and salsa along with beans. They were not seasoned black beans, so I had to add salsa to make them worth eating. The pozole was flavorful, and the broth was seasoned to perfection. It had plenty of hominy but was lacking in shredded beef. Shrimp tacos were awesome, and the side of veggies was a great side for a seafood entree. I get tired of just seeing fries. The bar area is a little divey. Average prices, well-made drinks. Well I've been here for 10 minutes no acknowledgment. Waitresses look at me and don't even address me. One waitress even set a dirty cup on the table where I finally sat and helped another table grabbed the cup and didn't even say anything. A family just came in were helped and I had to ask her if anyone was going to help me. She told me one moment then ran away and came back to service that family. This is crazy in 2026. read more

Where to begin with Tio Carlos. It started off as a quick decision. I expected almost nothing but my group and I desired cheap Mexican food. The energy in there was superb. Service was really great and the food was fantastic! We didn't order from the bar but I'm excited to try their margaritas next time. Ambiance was sadly not great inside :( There was a jazz sax player doing a set in the bar which bled over into the restaurant side, which continued to play Mexican radio music over the top of the sax jam. I thought it was gonna be okay because the reviews weren't bad. I was DEAD wrong. $18 for a raw chicken breast over old crispy rice. And canned corn with mayo. An OK tex mex resturaunt that barely hits the mark on producing a memorable meal. Their chips have some crisp, but they arent very flavorful. Their salsas are pretty weak, and have the consistency of pace picante rather than an authentic rojo. The nachos are decent in their textbook approach for tex mex nachos. Quite simple with just beef and cheese on top, but the sour cream and jalapenos on the side Their horchata is watery and tastes more like a powdered mix instead of being made from scratch. Their brisket enchiladas taste only like the grease that comes from the brisket and cheese. That's not to say that this was bad, but it certainly wasn't exciting. We went inside and I almost had to ask my husband to just forget about it as there's not much people inside but good thing we stayed as we got a very good meal. My sister in law got a fajita beef and she loved it. She said the meat is to tender and good. I got enchiladas and the cheese, chicken and brisket are a must to try. The best that they have is the sandwich lomito argentino. It's Large Argentine style sandwich filled with grilled steak, fried eggs, jack cheese, ham , lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa rosa, served with French fries. My husband loved it so much that he had to order again in our 2nd visit here. You've got to visit this surprisingly hole in wall good place for Tex max food. It's been 22 years since my first trip to Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico where I learned Spanish and discovered Chili Rellenos. I loved them immediately. Ever since in my travels throughout the US I have sought a perfect chili relleno. My serveR recommended the chicken. It was stunning. I actually tell you better than my first those long 22 years ago! I loved it. Kudos to the chef. I startedd with their chicken tortilla soup. Look at those chunks of chicken. And so juicy. So tender. As a big kid I asked for horchata. Let me just comment that a lot has changed at this place! The ambiance is about the same but the customer service is awesome here! Our server was James and he was amazing. Let's start with the chips and salsa. The chips were thin fresh and crisp and the salsa was very good. The salsa recipe is a little different but so good! We had cheese and onion enchilada's covered with chili con carne, rice and refried beans. The entree was really good and piping hot just the way I like my food. Drink refills were slow to come and no one checked on us or asked if we needed anything. We've been coming to this place for years but never back to back or anything. Despite the months between visits, every time we have been here the food is delicious. I love how they start off with complimentary chips and salsa and black beans, which are delicious. This time around my husband had the chicken fajita nachos and even though he asked for no sour cream or guacamole, they were still loaded with cheese, chicken, and beans that he wasn't able to finish them all. I chose the enchilada plate off of the lunch special menu which is available Mon-Fri 11-2 and has many different options to choose from. The best classic old school tex mex I've found in the area yet. Really nice fresh salsa and chips. Great salsa. The queso is very velveeta but that's not necessarily a bad thing; it's still danged tasty. The cheese enchiladas were solid, and quite filling with a lot of cheese inside. They were a bit greasy, but hey that goes with the territory. I'd pick them over any of the other cheese enchiladas with chili sauce I've tried locally recently. Next time I"m thinking that asking for a little extra sauce would be good The tortilla soup got a thumbs up from the wife. We ordered the fajita Beef and chicken for two it comes with grilled onions and green peppers and Two plates with rice and beans guacamole sour cream and cheese. We really liked it. Thanks to yelp, I found this restaurant and decided to check it out. The service was really good as we probably had the entire staff check on us every 3 minutes it seemed like. They serve chips and salsa along with a black bean dip. The salsa had a nice kick to it, and the black bean dip was great. We ordered a small blanco queso to try it out, and it was amazing!!! They have a huge menu and offer a variety of options. We decided to split the taco salad with a combo of beef and chicken. There is honestly something on the menu here for everyone. The staff is always so happy and ready to serve, but not overly attentive. Some of the booths are a bit cracked, but don't let that deter you! The food is delicious and always quick to come out. When you arrive, they bring a medium-spicy salsa and black bean dip to the table. This is honestly the best black bean dip I've ever had, both warm and bursting with flavor. The chips are thin and very crispy. I usually get the beef enchiladas without cheese (blasphemy, I know) and ranchero sauce instead, and it is always fantastic. Their rice is always fluffy and flavorful, and their fries are crunchy and filling. I've also had their brisket tacos, steak torta, and pastor tacos, all of which are very good as well! I had the Bisteak a la Mexicana and it was delicious! My wife had the chile relleno with queso blanco and it looked delicious. On a Work trip and tried to find a Mexican place since I live in the depths of hell (North Dakota) and there is NO good Mexican! Anyway! Shared the Fajitas combo for 2 with my boss (chicken, steak and shrimp) came with beans and rice guacamole and sour cream! So good! The reviews to this place look amazing and I couldn't wait to check it out. But it really didn't come close to the expectations I had. I don't know if I caught them on a bad day. I don't think I'll return. Service was sloppy. Our waitress seemed like she was in a mad rush to get our order in. Got us water only after. No chips and salsa for our table until we reminded her about it. The queso we ordered came before there were any chips on the table. My entree came much later than my friend's. She didn't bother with water refills throughout the meal and of course turned all sweet when she laid the bill in front of us. Service is crucial to the overall dining experience and this was just a disappointment. I really wish the food compensated for the service. But it was mediocre at the very most. Our queso was basic. Their chips and bean dip were good. I got the eggchiladas that's 2 eggs atop 2 avocado enchiladas topped with queso sauce. It sure sounds awesome. It wasn't bad but all I could taste was the queso poured on top. No distinct flavors but just a soggy mess. I used to enjoy this place until I was told I was lying by the lady who took my to go order. I ordered chicken fajitas as I do not eat beef due to a dietary restriction. When my husband got home and realized they gave me beef, I called and the same woman told me "Even though you said beef and I not wrong, I will give you chicken. We will not remake the vegetables." The vegetables were sitting under the beef. And by this point, they were cold. So, I'm stuck with cold, beef saturated vegetables I can't eat and told that I was lying when I know exactly what I ordered.
