Exceptional food, at a great price, and served with warmth. It's a little hole-in-the-wall, over the bridge from the "cool" part of newport - but oh-so-worth the 3 minute walk. The food is *stellar* across pretty much everything. - the tacos (oh, that chorizo taco!) are great, and they even have the good stuff like tripa, lengua, etc. - the salsas are even better, in particular, a cabbage-salsa (don't laugh. try it) that is to die for - the molcajetes (soup in a molcajete) is the star of the show, which is tough given all the other starts - and yes, everything else is just about as excellent So yeah, go, check this place out if you're in the 'hood. It is so, *so* worth it!

I'm impressed with how remarkably bad this place was. I'm being really nice giving two stars as I'm sure the delivery made it worse, something they don't have as much control over. Food was incredibly bland what tastes did come out tasted old and rotten. I'm honestly shaking my head as I write this thinking about how bad my food was. Did I mention it all came incredibly cold too?

Service is not very friendly. Chips are very good but are put in the basket by the servers, hands- no gloves and Unwashed. Grossed me out. Cup was dirty, had to ask for a new one. I got an avocado, onion quesadilla which was pretty good! I'd get it again if I can get past the lack of cleanliness. It overall was very cheap: two tap waters, 2 chicken tacos, ham & pineapple quesadilla, avocado & onion quesadilla, salsa and chips and guacamole equaled $16.00.

My son and I love Mexican food and decided to give them a try today. My son wanted to taste tacos he's never had before (tongue, liver, & tripe). He loved them all. I had chicken, steak, & shrimp tacos and they were delicious. I tasted Horchata for the first time and it was delicious. We did takeout this time, but the next time we will eat in.

OK, Carlos the cook pulls out the Centenario for his close friends, and Maria offers the tamales de rajas 'off the menu'. Those just tell you this is not the shooters and deep fried jalapeños type of Mexican place. What Los Molcajetes is, is an authentic Mexican Fonda (or tavern) where those who love home-style Mexican food and company congregate. When you stop in, try the camarones zarandeados (sauteed shrimp), ask if the tamales are ready, take in the fantastic fire-roasted chile salsa, and if you get to know Carlos, a shot of Centenario.

I absolutely loved eating here. The service is great; the ambient is cozy and tranquil; you can smell the deliciousness from the kitchen, and the food is amazing. By far, the most authentic Mexican food I have ever had. Beats all the "cool" and overly expensive spots in NYC that are mainly just for aesthetics and IG pics. Go here if you want to try Mexican food that tastes and makes you feel like it was cooked at home. I had the enchiladas de pollo and my boyfriend had chilaquiles and menudo, which was a Sunday special.

Very authentic , not white tablecloth but good , very good food at good prices. Their specialty is molcajetes which is a soup served in a big black stone bowl. I have not eaten it... next time. But I recommend chicken Mexican style (with tomato, onions and Jalepenos) and chicken diablo (spicy chicken, shown ) . 2 doors over is an awesome bakery !

The chicken, beef, shrimp fajitas with the chips and salsa (eaten) in the back left. That is the chip/salsa portion even if you're a single!

The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and really informative. They're happy to walk you through the menu and make recommendations based on what you like. It's also surprisingly vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, they offer vegan meats so you can swap them into a lot of the classic dishes, which is rare for a taqueria. The food is outstanding. Even the free chips and salsa they start you with are memorable: the chips are fresh and super crunchy, and the salsa has real depth of flavor, not just heat. The entrées are some of the best value around, the burritos are massive (one could easily feed two or three people), and for takeout, the quesadillas literally come in a pizza box, which tells you everything you need to know about portion size. Their appetizers, queso, and house-made hot sauce are all excellent and full of flavor, not just spice. Most times I've been, the service has been fast, even when they're busy. The interior is clean, colorful, and decorated with authentic touches, so it feels fun and relaxed whether you're dining in or just grabbing takeout. If you're searching for great Mexican food in Norwalk, big portions, vegetarian/vegan options, and friendly service, Rincon Taqueria is easily one of the best spots around. Highly recommend.

Popular menu items include birria tacos, octopus, shrimp ceviche, and steak chimichurri. My daughter and I visited here for her birthday, and we both love Latin cuisine. As we walked in, we were greeted warmly and shown to our seats immediately. It was a chilly day, and the restaurant felt cold inside as well. The staff tried to warm things up with space heaters, but they didn't quite do the trick. We ordered empanadas, birria tacos, hanger steak, and sweet plantains with crema and queso fresco. When the dishes arrived, they were lukewarm--a bit disappointing, considering how cold it was outside. The birria tacos were delicious, though again, they could have been hotter. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, but I would have liked it a bit crisper. The hanger steak was tender, and the Pico de Gallo was bursting with flavor, pairing perfectly with the steak. It was nicely seasoned and had a good-sized portion. The empanadas were tasty, with flavorful and plentiful meat. The plantains were extremely delicious. The crema and queso fresco helped bring the whole dish together beautifully. The customer service was friendly, but the food could have been hotter; still, the flavors and seasonings were spot-on.

We were handed the menus immediately and the waiter poured us a glass of water. I ordered the Birria Tacos and my friend ordered the Steak Fajitas. The food came out in about twenty minutes and the Steak Fajitas came out sizzling and my Birria Tacos looked amazing. The Birria Tacos were filled with tender meat, great flavors, and seasoned to perfection. The only con I would have to say about the Birria Tacos were that they could of been cruncher and I really don't like Corn Tortillas because it leaves that corn taste in your mouth, and there kind of grainy. I would have preferred it to be on a Flour Tortilla. My friend said her Steak Fajitas were delicious. We even talked about the food the next day to plan another day to go back.
