Definitely a delicious place to grab tacos and other Mexican dishes. I ordered takeout for my initial experience & it didn't disappoint. I thought the heat from the container would make the food soggy & less tasty but that wasn't the case. I got the chicken tacos and the loaded fries with steak. The chicken tacos were well seasoned & the steak was not over cooked. This just might be my new spot for Mexican food. I'll definitely be back to fine in soon read more

Unfortunately, this place did not do it for me. My tacos were put together well, however, the chicken kind of tasted like it was a coated with I think it was based in mayonnaise (most likely not!!!) and the toppings did not blend in to make it one cohesive flavorful bite. I did order other sides to go with my tacos and I typically order the same things my first time around for any restaurant and nothing was expressly delicious. Good yes, but I will not be back here anytime soon. I believe that people should try restaurants. So by all means go. Now as far as service, I did order to go. When you walk in the inside has great ambience and the place was pretty. I wished I could have stayed. Just inside the door is a wall or doors and there is no sign to tell you which way to go. So go left. The server or manager, the person that checked me out, was awesome. He double checked my bag make sure everything I ordered was in it. Payment was seamless. I left him a tip they were not super busy but they were busy and he was steady moving about ever so gracefully. This was my first time at Mex Spot and I have to say every dish we ordered was wiped clean! We started off chips and salsa that was complimentary I assume as it came out without saying anything. Chips tasted fresh, the salsa was good but extremely mild for me (I prefer spicy things but maybe great for others who don't have a tolerance for spice) . Then we got guacamole and asked for it spicy which was heaven. Sometimes when you request at restaurants to make something spicy they're hesitant but I was so happily surprise when it came with plenty of jalapeños to give it just the right kick! We were also given two different sauces in squeeze bottles, both had a bid of spice the brown one being spicer then the green. For our entrees we got quesadilla w/Chorizo and chicken fajitas both stellar dishes. I can't wait to come back, the service and ambiance are great for getting together with friends or family and catch up as it wasn't too loud so you could hear each other. read more

First time trying this place. Was pleasantly surprised that everything we had was well presented and had good taste. We went for a quick lunch during the day and happen to make HH time and that was a nice touch to have half off our margaritas which also were good. The mango flavor wasn't my favorite but other wise no issues. Our food was really good and the chicken fajitas were on point and had very good flavor. Service was good. Beware of the practices this restaurant employs My husband and I went out to lunch one Saturday mid May we were the only Non-Hispanic customers there were four other tables occupied I had chicken enchiladas and my husband had burrito plus the drinks the total was $53 and change we added $10 tip the waiter took the credit card and disappeared for over 20 minutes I got up to look for him when I finally spotted him and asked what happened he brought back the cc and the check We received the credit card statement to find out that there were four other different charges from the same date same time in the total amount of over $250 My husband went back to the restaurant and asked for an explanation the manager said it was an honest mistake and gave back the difference in cash It was not a mistake and it wasn't honest Mistake would be one time for the same amount hit the button twice kind of thing but not for different charges in four different amounts Check your statements if you dine there read more

I ordered on Uber eats the Mixed fajitas for my husband that came with rice and beans and it was like a stew. Nothing was seared it was soaking in some thin red sauce with absolutely NO FLAVOR. My husband isn't hard to please, but he said that was the worst Mexican food he's ever had... I ordered the Birria tacos and they were fine, but I had to add a little salt to enhance the flavors. We went on a Saturday evening and it wasn't super busy so we got seated right away. Everyone was super friendly! It felt SO homey, made me feel like I was at home and my mom or dad had cooked for us . They had good music playing too. I had the horchata which was a good balance- perfect amount of sweet and cinnamon. The guac was very delicious; you could taste the freshness and the lime. The chips were also good. They didn't have any salt on them and they were crunchy and not too oily.the quesadilla was really tasty and super cheesy. We got it with chicken inside and consomé on the side which made a great dipping sauce. I had the angry birria ramen which was so delicious. I have been dying to try birria ramen because it's super trendy- and mex spot really HIT the spot!!! Lastly, the elote loco... my goodness.. this was the best elote loco I have had yet!! The lime was sour and and all the toppings made it so flavorful! The corn was on a stick which made it super easy to eat and honestly I wish I ordered a second one ! My boyfriend and I popped in for lunch one weekend. It was a cute diner vibe inside what appeared to be an old train car. I got birria tacos and they were good but had too much cheese to the point where it was a little overpowering. They were not stingy with the meat/seafood for my bfs order which he was happy about ! They had a full bar and the guy working there (said he was the owner) was very friendly. I think they need to work out small kinks to be a staple on Conn Ave- the flavors were good! Delicious, hearty Mexican food. Our personal favorites are birria tacos. So flavorful. The soup served with it so good, I end up drinking all of it after I am done with dipping tacos in it. Something as simple as beans & rice is so flavorful too. In desserts, love their flan. Perfectly sweet and creamy moist. The staff is great too. We have so far visited 4-5 times and got different servers and all of them were very nice. Just hit this new spot today and really liked it. Need the word out but the bad thing then is I will have to wait for a table. The horchata is delicious and such a great drink on a hot day. They haven't gotten their liquor license yet so only sodas and aguas and of course this delicious horchata.. give it a taste! The salsa is a bit watery but tastes good. We got the tostada appetizer which we shared.. so good.. great avocado, lots of steak on it.. very good. We also shared the enchiladas rojas that came with rice and beans for $16- a great price for the serving. They need some desserts but the coffee is excellent- Starbucks served good and piping hot. I wanted to love the place but everything seemed under seasoned and needed salt. The birria tacos were good, a bit too much cheese for my liking and the elote was quite good but I have had better. Had a good delivery experience in past and an okay I. Person dining experience. We ordered today and half of our order was missing. The other food was packaged upside down and a mess. We called the restaurant directly and talked to a Manager who blamed the Uber driver. Horrible customer service. Will not ever be ordering from them again or going to the restaurant. Granted its Cinco de Mayo; however I placed a take out order at 620pm and received a confirmation that it would be ready by 720pm. I did not mind waiting because in general the food has been good in the past. However upon arriving at the restaurant, I was told that my order was "cancelled". If you were too busy to fill the order, it might have been a good idea and good practice to let the customer know! It was incredibly frustrating and aggravating to drive there in the rain only to be told that my order was cancelled. Not only was my order cancelled without letting me know but my credit card was charged and I will have to wait 3-5 days for a credit - never again! You have lost this customer forever! read more
