My friend and I went out for lunch and we decided to go to Bandido Mexican Restaurant. As we entered the establishment, it was empty which I didn't mind. We were handed the menus immediately and the waiter poured us a glass of water. I ordered the Birria Tacos and my friend ordered the Steak Fajitas. The food came out in about twenty minutes and the Steak Fajitas came out sizzling and my Birria Tacos looked amazing. The Birria Tacos were filled with tender meat, great flavors, and seasoned to perfection. The only con I would have to say about the Birria Tacos were that they could of been cruncher and I really don't like Corn Tortillas because it leaves that corn taste in your mouth, and there kind of grainy. I would have preferred it to be on a Flour Tortilla. My friend said her Steak Fajitas were delicious. We even talked about the food the next day to plan another day to go back. Overall a good experience and I will be back. I'd like to try their night life sometime as well, I heard it was good. For starters, the margaritas were very good and nice and strong. They had a lot of unique flavors and the prices were about industry standard. The food was a little above average. Not as good as some of the places in the Danbury area, but much better than the others in Norwalk. The rice was very good and the beans had a unique presentation and traditional vibe. The food seemed good quality and had a nice taste. The people were super nice. I really liked all of them. They were very genuine and wanted to help and offer great service! The prices were about average for the area. The ambiance was interesting. It actually reminded me a lot of the hole in the wall places I saw back in Mexico. It's nothing special, but not bad. We ordered delivery after 9pm on a Sunday. I ordered two chicken tingas for my dinner and at the last second i ordered nachos. We really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa! The salsa was very fresh and had a nice kick to it. The nachos ended up being my dinner because they were so good & full of meat. The chips were fresh tasting and not greasy at all. I had the chicken tinga the next day for lunch (i didn't heat it) and it was so good. My man got a steak burrito and he said it was good. I think he would've said it was great had there been more meat on it. It looked smaller than a standard-sized burrito. We will definitely order from here again! read more

The lunch margarita was $8 and was just strong enough to be offset by the amount of food that was given! I had the chicken quesadillas with rice and beans my bestie had the flautas with rice and beans and the child had the children's special for $5, a chicken quesadilla with rice and beans! Everything was sooo delicious! We also ordered the guacamole which was presented beautifully, freshly mashed and very tasty! I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Norwalk who has a hankering for Mexican food and has little ones who they also need to feed! I suggested this place for dinner because we previously dined here in 2018 and had a very good Experience. Tonight was the complete opposite. The service was awful. I don't know if management changed cause the entire restaurant seemed like a lounge atmosphere. The waitress gave us attitude whenever we had a question. The drink menu on the table was priced for 3-6pm. So the 10$ house margaritas we ordered were actually 12$. When we asked if we got top shelf margarita that were listed for 12$ instead of the house the waitress said no but those are the prices for 3-6pm. No where on the menu did it have a time but whatever. Not sure why a family of 5 ( 2 adults a 9 year old and 2 & 1 year old) had an automatic gratuity added to the check when the two smallest shared two side dishes. We won't be coming back here again. We visited this place when we were on our way to New York (through I95). A quick search on google led me to the place and though we were running short of time, the hungry me wanted to get some good Mexican vegan-friendly food. Little did I realize that it's located in Norwalk downtown, nevertheless, we could use the parking garage nearby. The place was literally empty when we walked in (it was around 6:30 PM on a weekday). But it looks like it's a lively place that gets busy on weekends. They are open till midnight on all days. The servers were very friendly and helped us choose our dishes. One interesting fact I realized is that they are not allergic to vegan food (pun intended) like most other Mexican places. They have multiple options for vegans (blame it on my dislike ness to cheese and milk derivatives, I barely can eat all that cheese vegetarian options other Mexican places provide). My family was so hungry that we ordered multiple dishes from burritos and enchiladas (all vegan). It turned out to be delicious. The only downside is that there were no appetizer options in the menu. And upon our ask, they agreed to make jalapeno poppers off-menu, which turned out to be disastrous, might be because they did not get what we asked or whatever. Another thing is that it took long time to get the food delivered when altogether there were only 2-3 tables occupied till the time we left. I would still give them a 4 rating because I really like Mexican food and appreciate places where they serve vegetarian food without cheese. read more
