This is a very hole in the wall mom and pop shop that I drive by and if you blink, you'll miss it. There's street parking around but if you don't mind crossing the street, there's parking around Walgreens. It's a pretty small spot but well worth it. You can order from the window or you can sit, look at the menu and then wait. The food takes time to come out but that is because everything is made fresh and to order. I cannot begin to describe how worth it the wait was. We got horchata to sip on while we talked and were kept in good company until we got empanadas, yucas and finally, our pupusas. All I can say it, everything was delicious and made with love. I do wish they have more support but they seem to be doing well since they've been at the spot forever. Los Olivios has my heart! I am so happy to have found a delicious authentic pupusa spot! I'm always on the hunt for a good pupusa and most places either don't have enough filling or have a bland salsa (and we all know how important salsa is!) Thankfully, this place is 10/10 on BOTH! They fill up their pupusas and they taste amazingggg. They also offer the option of spicy or non spicy salsa. I personally get the spicy and I love the kick / flavor, it pairs very well with the pupusa. I also order their platano frito with frijol + crema, the staff is super accommodating and nice when I ask for them to slice the banana thinner for a crispier bite. I highly recommend this location! Our new go to pupusa spot! We found this place about 3 months ago and have been consistently eating here at least once a week! My husband and I get 2-3 pupusas each (revueltas + cheese) & their platano frito con frijol y crema I'm super picky about my pupusas and these are delicious! So full of flavor & I love how there's not "too much" masa, it's a perfect balance/ratio of filling to masa. For the platano frito, omg, the beans, crema, platano itself; SO DELICIOUS! We use to share a plate but now I have to have my own, it's just too good to share. I love how they offer the option of spicy or regular salsa as I don't care much for the regular. It's more of a plain tomato sauce taste and I really enjoy the flavor/kick of the spicy salsa they offer. 10/10 highly recommend, run don't walk! Tasty food, slow service but opportunity to improve! Good to see they're busy. I ordered a pickup order on Uber Eats, one order of beef empanadas and one of chicken - each order was for 3 pieces. The pickup estimate time was 15-25 minutes on the app. I waited about 30 minutes and even though it didn't say my order was ready, I then went inside to ask about it. Before that, I tried calling but no one picked up. Once I showed my order in person they finished preparing it right there and then. The menu looks good and people seem to come here, so I look forward to coming back and trying their other food! I placed an order online on the menustar system as directed on this restaurant's website. It said the order would be ready in 15-30 mins. When I showed up to pick up the order, the cashier was very rude and said we do not order from this location. I showed him my phone with the confirmation code and receipt, he said the order would be ready in 30 mins. It took nearly one hour and a half to get our food. I will never come here again, I've ordered from the online system many times before and it has never been an issue. These people were blaming me for ordering through the online system, like y'all should take that off the website if it's an issue for you.. completely unacceptable. I did like all the papusa options and the food was fresh. Someone not far from us had a whole fish on their plate, seemed good and im a vegetarian! I stick to tradition so order the Pupusas de Queso y Loroco and the Revuelta which is pork and beans. Add Curtido and salsa and off I go on a quick tour back to La Patria. Bien chivo loco! Get adventurous and try the fruit salad fresco, a fruit salad as a drink, si men! dale mecha!. I also recommend the Platanos, Frijoles y Crema plate the holly trinity of Salvadoreño cuisine. This plate can be shared among your table. They also make empanadas de Platano using Platano filled with beans or sweet cream and fried. Basta! That's as far as I have gotten with this place and love it. They need to resolve the personality disorder they have between paying at the window or at the table though. I cannot express how angry I am with this restaurant. We had 2 kids with us and they were bored out of their minds. We got here at 12:40pm on a Saturday and we didn't get our food until 1:50!!! WTF We noticed that other people that had got there after us got their food before us??? When I went up say something, one of the guys just looked at me at didn't say anything and walked away. When my Hispanic friend went up, they told him that people pre-order on the phone and that's why when they get here their food is ready. Bullshit or not - unacceptable. So far, this is the best pupusa spot I've found in Oakland. I'm usually weary of places that serve both Mexican and Salvadoran food but this place is solid. When entering this place it is really nice on the inside and we just entered grabbed a menu and sat ourselves. The server soon came over got us waters and took our order. I got 3 pupusas. One of pork, cheese and beans (revuelta) and two of cheese and beans. My girlfriend got two pupusas of chicken, beans and cheese. Came by with the restaurant.com certificate that I bought today. The cashier looked at it and said she doesn't know what it is. She had to call the owner and was on the phone with him for about 15 minutes before she got off and said that she was going to accept the certificate, but had no idea how to use it.
