Fish tacos are amazing. If you order for pick up, always check your food they will always forget a dish every single time.
Ambience 5 Stars Service 5 Stars Food meh 2.5 Stars Flavorful but my tacos all tasted exactly the same. The chicken plate wasn't special either. That being said not a lot of Latinos eating here so you know. I won't rush back but I totally dig this place.
Honestly, I'm not sure it lives up to the hype as much as I'd hoped. While the vibe and decor are as bright and inviting as the welcoming staff, the quieted Cuban flavors left me wanting a bit more. I had the fried pollo cholita plate, but the chicken thigh was overcooked and unfortunately tough and stringy. The beans and rice were excellent though, and I loved the plantains. It's possible I just got a bad one-off with the chicken, but it still was a miss. The cubano sandwich was much better, though after recently visiting Miami, I couldn't help but think it could've stuck a better landing. I know I've been here before and enjoyed the tacos, so maybe next time I'll focus on the more Mexican-forward portions of the menu. Still, Cholita Linda brings a lot of bright energy on Telegraph which is always fun to walk by.

Fish taco was fantastic. Service was good. The atmosphere is trendy and fun but a bit dirty. The chicken plate (pollo chopito) has good flavor but not amazing but fresh. The kicker for me was the menu says chicken thighS. Plural and I saw the photo on the website with two. Maybe it was a mistake that I only received one chicken thigh so I asked. Nope only comes with one per the lady at the front cashier. Should probably update. I think a little steep for one thigh rice and greens for $15 but you decide. Below is an updated picture they can post on the website with the real size and description of the dish. Not so hard.
I've been to Cholita Linda's stand at the Sunday Temescal farmers market twice. Tacos de pescado: These were crunchy, flaky, nicely salted. I thought they were pretty good, I really liked the texture of the fish and overall flavor profile. Mango passionfruit agua fresca: This was quite good, sweet, fruity, I would recommend their agua fresca. Price is decent enough compared to how expensive drinks are getting nowadays. Tacos de tofu: They were good, and the tofu is firm but it is quite spicy. I was surprised since the pescado was not spicy. I think the fish tacos are better overall texture and flavor-wise especially as someone who can't handle more than a mild level of spice, but I appreciate that they actually did put some flavor into the tofu since it can tend to be plain as a protein otherwise.
My go to is the lechon sandwich and fish taco. Having the sandwich fresh is a must! The lechon is my favorite because it's the perfect blend of sweet and savory with the sweet potato. Each bite is warm and balanced especially with the arugula and aioli. The fish taco is crispy. The cabbage and crema toppings pair great with the lime and orange hot sauce. Put a bunch of the sauce!
4/5 stars because of the slower service, even with a pretty empty dining space. Food: Delicious food! They have a mix of tacos, burritos, and sandwiches. They have food here is more American fusion and they have less drink options (sadly no Horchatas). They have a good variety of Agua Frescas and are made fresh! Service: Dining in is a lot faster than takeout! I had a short lunch break for work and takeout took about 20-30 minutes to get food, whereas dine in was way faster! Ambiance: There is a lot of indoor seating! Will definitely fit groups as big as 10 people. I went during a weekday at lunch and the sit in area was very open. There is a lot of natural lighting indoors. Parking: limited street parking. Make sure to allocate time to find parking!
i love coming here on my lunch break (before the students come) my favorite thing to get are the fish tacos and salad, it will for sure fill you up as well. The guac is really fresh on top of their crunchy tortilla chips. They're also really fast with service especially when I order online. So much seating area as well if i decide to eat there and they're very accommodating with everything.
The Cubano sandwich and the fish tacos were super delicious!! The ambiance and decor is so cute. It makes you feel like you're in a colorful neighborhood!
Love this place because of the bright, colorful, and tropical interior! Also their Baja fish taco is sooo good because the fish is really crispy and flavorful. I also like that the service is really fast! You order first, find a seat, and they'll bring your food to your table pretty quickly read more
We we t in for dinner. My son ordered fish tacos with yuca fries and mango agua Fresca. I ordered to pollo chicharron, came with salad, beans, rice and two small plantains. We also ordered an order of tostones. I got a mango agua Fresca. It was refreshing and very mango tasting. The pollo chicharron is always my favorite. The service is ordered at front. I was nicely surprised they used dinnerware which makes it feel more authentic. There's plenty of inside and outdoor seating as well as booth chair seating looking out. read more
The restaurant itself was super cute. The staff were just friendly enough but not really overly friendly. They all seemed very overwhelmed to be honest. That being said the Papito sandwich was delicious. I would go back for that sandwich alone. My boyfriend had three tacos. The fish taco was really really good he said. The Al pastor and carnitas tacos were average. The yuka fries were not that good tbh. Very bland. The maduros were really really good. Overall would go back. read more

My first time here and met some friends here for lunch. I was the first one here as I took ride share as I didn't want to hassle with parking. But my friends managed to find parking close by. I found some tables in the back patio and it is rather spacious so I put 3 tables together for 7 of us. The only thing is that the door to the patio is rather heavy to open. There is water with cups and some utensils available in the patio. You order near the front door and they give you a numbered buzzer but they don't use it as a buzzer but rather a server comes by to deliver your food. We ordered two orders of guacamole and chips to share as well as some sweet potato fries. One person ordered the Asado, another the Cubano, some fish tacos and I ordered the Pollo de Cholita which is not fried and it comes with either pinto or black beans, free range boneless chicken thighs, rice, organic salad and sweet potatoes. Enjoyed my plate and took half of it home. read more

I love Cholita Linda on Telegraph. The moment I step inside and head to the back courtyard, I feel like I've slipped into a different world. Bright colors, warm music, and that tucked-away patio vibe make it the kind of spot where I want to stay way longer than planned. The music is always spot on -- salsa, boleros, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms that set the tone perfectly. It's not just background noise; it creates the feeling of being somewhere warm and welcoming, far from the middle of Telegraph Avenue. My go-to is the picadillo with plantains -- pure comfort food. The savory picadillo and the sweet, caramelized plantains balance each other perfectly. Add a glass of passion fruit juice, and it's basically my idea of heaven. The staff is always warm and welcoming, even when it's busy (and yes, it does get busy -- the line out the door says it all). But once you're seated, the food and the atmosphere make it worth the wait. For me, Cholita Linda is one of those Oakland gems I keep coming back to -- good food, great vibes, and a courtyard that feels like it belongs to me. read more
Really good fish tacos and they have a nice patio in the back. Staff was friendly. Wish they did a taco combo plate instead of al la carte only. The pinto beans I got were a bit under seasoned but the tacos we got were super good. Nice quick local spot. read more

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty busy and a line out the door but their speed of service was on it! We ordered and got our food shortly after. I ordered three tacos: carnitas, asada, and fish. I would rate them in that order as well. I was disappointed by the fish taco and felt like over all for the price food was okay. My husband has the chicken chicharro. He enjoyed it. Our other friends got different sandwiches and tacos. I didn't get to take a pick of our actual food or the decor of the place which is really cute. It gave Puerto Rico vibes. We did get a couple aguas frescas and they were really good. Don't know if I'd go back but was satisfied with my experience if that makes sense. read more

My brother recommended this place and it was so good. Me and my sister got two fish tacos and they were so fresh and yummy. The owner Vicki was very kind and welcoming. She gave us complementary Frescas and brought us some napkins. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Perfect place to go with your family, friends or on a date. Definitely check this spot out. read more

It's sad to say that I'm giving Cholita Linda 3 stars because of the fact that every time I come here the prices get more expensive and the portions get smaller and smaller. I think that for a well established business that has 4 locations they should keep their portions consistent while raising prices as this is a turn off for long-term patrons like me who have been going there for over 10 years. It's a shame because I feel like this used to be the best place for family, outings and dinners, and now it's becoming overpriced and skimpy on their portions! read more

They are KNOWN for their fish tacos and don't be scared to try the spicy orange sauce. Today, I got the salad. It's mixed greens, black beans, tortilla strips, salsa, cream, cotija cheese, and a light vinegrette that's hers to describe. it's super light in taste. I didn't add any tryna protein but I'm sure it's good with it. The service is consistent and they are nice and fast. It has an old vibe that puts you somewhere not in California. We came here for lunch, and loved the aesthetics of Cholita Linda! Inside you walk in to order, and you are given a number to find your own seat. They have such a nice back area filled with flowers. It is super pretty and makes you feel like you are in a tropical forest/beach. I got the Baja Fish Tacos, and they were okay! The fish was well seasoned and had all the necessary components of a good taco. I wouldn't say it was anything too special though. My friends got their sandwiches though, and those were delicious. Nice, warm, and juicy. I would opt for a sandwich next time. Overall, this was a great dining experience! read more
Hella delicious food! Everything we got was tasty and fresh. I liked the outdoor space. The service was fast and the food cane fast too. A casual, quick too in here will leave you so satisfied. 4.5/5 FOOD- crispy, yummy fish & simple/ beautiful Cubano. I'm not self-prescribing myself with any mental illness because I'm not qualified for such a thing, but good sandwiches to me have the same mental salve provided by exercise or water or cannabis or a french fry. Is that delusion brought by nostalgia? Desire shaping reality or its perception? Who knows. cholita linda has a great sandwich that doesn't spill out when you bite into it and is surprisingly dense given the thickness. Honestly, I don't even remember what it tasted like because I was so impressed by its construction. The price is a little steep, but as we sink deeper and deeper into the necrotic walls of this nation, a good sandwich is always welcome. read more

I have always ordered and eaten at Cholita Linda's for a few years now. Unfortunately, a few nights ago I was greeted with a cricket that was ALIVE! It was still moving , it literally jumped out. I called the restaurant and spoke to Abel, he informed me they do not wash their salad they just take it out of a bag and box it, that's even more alarming and unsanitary. I am still awaiting a follow-up from Cholita Linda themselves. I do not think i will be eating here ever again as I am too shook to do so. So check your food thoroughly if you eat here!!! read more

If the day is nice, definitely take advantage of their backyard patio. The colors are very vibrant and there is a mini garden in the center (where they possibly grow some of their own materials??). Anyways, the previous reviews speak for themselves. I think one of the Google reviews I read stated that they had taken the sweet potato slabs/fried out of the Lechon, but that was not our experience. We were recommended this over the Cubano, and it was a great choice. The dense fries + meats coupled with a toasted bun and light greens was honestly a very interesting flavor experience. I also really enjoyed the Mango Limeade Agua Fresca. Made in-house and super refreshing. Our friend also got the Yucca fries and churros. I would definitely recommend the latter. The fries were decent, but I've had better, so not necessarily the most worth it (in my opinion). However, the churros were super soft and well fried, and the sauce on the side was velvety smooth and delicious. read more
