[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience 5 Stars[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service 5 Stars Food meh 2.5 Stars Flavorful but my tacos all tasted exactly the same. The chicken plate wasn't special either. [[HIGHLIGHT]]That being said not a lot of Latinos eating here so you know.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I won't rush back but I totally dig this place.

Fish tacos are amazing. If you order for pick up, always check your food they will always forget a dish every single time.

Honestly, I'm not sure it lives up to the hype as much as I'd hoped. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While the vibe and decor are as bright and inviting as the welcoming staff, the quieted Cuban flavors left me wanting a bit more.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the fried pollo cholita plate, but the chicken thigh was overcooked and unfortunately tough and stringy. The beans and rice were excellent though, and I loved the plantains. It's possible I just got a bad one-off with the chicken, but it still was a miss. The cubano sandwich was much better, though after recently visiting Miami, I couldn't help but think it could've stuck a better landing. I know I've been here before and enjoyed the tacos, so maybe next time I'll focus on the more Mexican-forward portions of the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Still, Cholita Linda brings a lot of bright energy on Telegraph which is always fun to walk by.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Tough to score. Tough tough tough so let me try to break it down: Service 4/5 Fish Taco 5/5 Pollo Cholita plate 3/5 Service 4/5 False Advertisement 1/5 FINAL : 3.25 Starting with the good. Fish taco was fantastic. Service was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is trendy and fun but a bit dirty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chicken plate (pollo chopito) has good flavor but not amazing but fresh. The kicker for me was the menu says chicken thighS. Plural and I saw the photo on the website with two. Maybe it was a mistake that I only received one chicken thigh so I asked. Nope only comes with one per the lady at the front cashier. Should probably update. I think a little steep for one thigh rice and greens for $15 but you decide. Below is an updated picture they can post on the website with the real size and description of the dish. Not so hard.

I've been to Cholita Linda's stand at the Sunday Temescal farmers market twice. Tacos de pescado: These were crunchy, flaky, nicely salted. I thought they were pretty good, I really liked the texture of the fish and overall flavor profile. Mango passionfruit agua fresca: This was quite good, sweet, fruity, I would recommend their agua fresca. Price is decent enough compared to how expensive drinks are getting nowadays. Tacos de tofu: They were good, and the tofu is firm but it is quite spicy. I was surprised since the pescado was not spicy. I think the fish tacos are better overall texture and flavor-wise especially as someone who can't handle more than a mild level of spice, but I appreciate that they actually did put some flavor into the tofu since it can tend to be plain as a protein otherwise.

My go to is the lechon sandwich and fish taco. Having the sandwich fresh is a must! The lechon is my favorite because it's the perfect blend of sweet and savory with the sweet potato. Each bite is warm and balanced especially with the arugula and aioli. The fish taco is crispy. The cabbage and crema toppings pair great with the lime and orange hot sauce. Put a bunch of the sauce!

4/5 stars because of the slower service, even with a pretty empty dining space. Food: Delicious food! They have a mix of tacos, burritos, and sandwiches. They have food here is more American fusion and they have less drink options (sadly no Horchatas). They have a good variety of Agua Frescas and are made fresh! Service: Dining in is a lot faster than takeout! I had a short lunch break for work and takeout took about 20-30 minutes to get food, whereas dine in was way faster! Ambiance: There is a lot of indoor seating! Will definitely fit groups as big as 10 people. I went during a weekday at lunch and the sit in area was very open. There is a lot of natural lighting indoors. Parking: limited street parking. Make sure to allocate time to find parking!

i love coming here on my lunch break (before the students come) my favorite thing to get are the fish tacos and salad, it will for sure fill you up as well. The guac is really fresh on top of their crunchy tortilla chips. They're also really fast with service especially when I order online. So much seating area as well if i decide to eat there and they're very accommodating with everything.

Is there wifi for paying customers?

Is there a parking lot or free parking?

They don't have a specific parking lot but there is a small shopping center right next to it with limited parking. It's free but often can be crowded

Are they still doing online orders?

    Yes!

Are they still doing takeout only?

Dine In is open and we also increased our patio seating

What kind of fish is used in the fish tacos? I am unable to locate on the menu.

I order from here all the time it's really frustrating that I have to wait in line only to be cut be five or six food delivery people. They should have to wait in line like the rest of us. Is the business trying to fix this?

Thanks for reaching out. We are actually working on a solution. In the next days we will separate delivery drivers from all other guests. There will be three doors; 1 for ordering, 1 for pickup and 1 for the drivers. Unfortunately the drivers are…

    Are they open today (Thanksgiving)?

Are dogs allowed in the outdoor eating area?

I agree! places that allow dogs That are not service animals are places I don't want to go

    Gluten free options?

    No they don't

Is parking difficult around Cholita Linda?

I will say: "Yes". Specially during lunch hour.

@Cholita Linda: what type of meat are you using? Is chicken organic? Is beef grass-fed? (Ideally, I want the business to respond to me in a post so everyone can see the response.)

They won't give a straight answer= most likely the majority is factory farmed. :( I asked this question and the hostess there put me on hold for ten minutes and then I had to call back 20 minutes later and then she mumbled, flip-flopped and acted…

    Is there place to sit?

Not if there are two ladies talking with their purses on the chair and can't have the common courtesy or decency to move it as they are deeply engrossed in their mind bending conversations

Does Cholita Linda cater events? Thanks

Tacos Oscar offers up slightly more upscale Tacos with nuanced ingredients and intense flavors. During my latest outing I went with the mushroom, barbacoa, and chile verde tacos. Each of my tacos was great, but the mushroom one stood out. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and had a slight crunch which gave them an excellent texture. They were also incredibly well seasoned. My barbacoa and Chile verde tacos were also solid with some nice topping variation that helped mix up the flavors and texture. Oscar's service is good and straightforward. Place your order up front and either grab a table there or walk to their back patio. I LOVE the back area on a sunny day and would highly recommend it. Each taco here will run you about 5-6 bucks so don't be too suprised by the sticker shock. I would say 3-4 tacos is the ideal range depending on how hungry you are. Give them a try if you're ever in the Mosswood/Temescal area.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. The flavors are rich and laid on thick. We ordered a veggie burrito, a bean and cheese burrito with rice added, and three tacos (carne, pollo asado, and Cameron's). The carne melted in my mouth, since it was rich with rendered fat, and the tortillas were crisped around the outside to melt and seal the layer of cheese inside. Probably our best overall dish was the bean-cheese-rice burrito -- covered in their salsas and peppers -- since it balanced all the ingredients and textures. On the other hand, the veggie burrito brought the flavor, but between the crema, pico, guacamole, and cheese it ended up soggy halfway through and the tortilla threatened to come loose. The shrimp and chicken were forgettable, and the tortillas come crispy off the griddle but they are damp by the time you walk anywhere to sit. What captures the truck in a nutshell are the chips they serve, covered in a seasoning that replicates Doritos flavor. Sometimes that is exactly what you need. But you can get it elsewhere easily too.

I'd thought the place had lost its touch, but maybe it was just an off day. Today in May of 2026 I've managed to visit while it's a slow day, and I was pleasantly satisfied with my food. I ordered a Carnitas burrito, and it was just as delicious as I'd remembered it one decade ago. While I was eating the first half of my burrito I was thinking "this is good, but burritos are good.. is it better than other burritos I've had, and why?" Something is different about burritos at Tacos Sinaloa, the food reflects that of some regional tacos trucks scattered throughout the East bay, but they're very distinct in how well they're capable of doing this style of Mexican food. As I said earlier- burritos are good. I think they are good because everything tastes good together, but not all burritos are created equal. The first thing that stood out to me about my burrito was the tortilla. It's not your standard tortilla, and it's nothing extravagant, but it seemed intentional. The tortilla is softer, thinner, and it holds up, but it's not chewy. It's there and it soaks up the oils and it doesn't take away from anything. In my experience, a bad tortilla can make a burrito less enjoyable. This tortilla adds in that it's barely there and it's pleasant because it soaks up the flavors without detracting. On the insides, the beans and rice can give or take away depending on where you get your burrito from. At Tacos Sinaloa on this particular day, the beans and rice did not take away from the burrito. The pinto beans were plum and creamy, and tasted like pintos. No nonsense- they added because they didn't subtract, I could go on about grainy beans or starchy over seasoned bean liquid, but NONE OF THAT HERE. The rice had perfect texture. It almost like 'al dente', but not in a chewy way, it had just enough rice texture and didn't get in the way of the other ingredients. It was mildly seasoned with your classic Mexican rice (aromatic tomato broth like flavor). No nonsense, no unnecessary spices, not over saturated in liquid, or turned to mush. Just good simply season rice. Cheese and sour cream- Salty Mexican cheese, presumably Oaxaca or something similar. Adds little salty flavor explosions throughout the burrito. Sour cream, added tangy acidity that cuts through the fatty ness making it taste more lively. Of coarse, the lovely creaminess. If you're not having your burrito with these I'm very sorry for you. The star of the show- The Carnitas here is just done right. It's not over seasoned with anything, it just tastes like melty delicious braised pork shoulder, then fried to accentuate it with crispy mallard bits that surprise you throughout the burrito. Towards the end of my experience I came to the conclusion that what makes a Tacos Sinaloa burrito good is that its ingredients forward- each ingredient tastes good on its own, and that can't be said for all burritos. It's not a burrito for the sake of being a burrito. All the ingredients seem intentionally chosen so that none get in the way of one another. I want to say they make the meat the star of the show, but even if you were to have a bean and rice and cheese + sour crème burrito here it would be an exceptional burrito, which is a testament to their culinary philosophy. Last but not least- yes they have salsa, and of coarse it's good, and I love that they give lemon slices with your food - it's another small intentional detail that they offer lemon instead of lime. Carnitas burrito 5/5. Sinaloa overall 4/5 because of inconsistency.

The main reason I never went before was the parking situation, which honestly can be a little challenging, but for this visit we found parking down the block and around the corner. The short walk after dinner ended up being nice anyway. We had reservations, although we did wait about 15 extra minutes while another party finished their meal. My family member pointed out they were enjoying drinks, so that probably added some time. The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and clearly trying to get us seated as quickly as possible. Water was brought to the table right away, and our drink order was taken promptly. I ordered the chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised to learn the mango vinaigrette dressing did not contain oils, since I personally avoid seed oils. The salad was fresh and delicious. Some of my family members ordered the buffet, which looked incredible. At first it seemed like too much food for me that day, but once I saw everything included, I started thinking maybe I should have ordered it too since it was only about seven dollars more. They brought complimentary chips, guacamole, and salsa to the table, and everything was so flavorful. The guacamole was especially delicious, and they happily refilled the chips several times. I finally understood why the restaurant is called "Los Moles" because their mole sauces are outstanding. I got to try some from my son's plate, and it definitely made me want to come back and explore more of the different mole options. They also offer vegetarian choices, which is great. Although I am very particular about cooking surfaces, my food is cooked on and in, the Mexican coffee which was heated in some type of who knows what metal, had a good flavor. It inspired me to re-create it at home. Another standout for me was the freshly made corn tortillas served with the meals. They were soft, warm, and incredibly good. I also tried the beans, which were full of flavor. Overall, this restaurant really stood out in my memory, and I definitely want to return someday to try more moles.

They do have tables outside, but we were told that we couldn't start our meal outside and then move to a table indoors after one was available, so we waited. Oh well! As we waited, we noticed a steady stream of online orders, indicating this is a popular place with those in the neighborhood. We got a few beers while we waited for a table. They also have Thai iced teas/coffee/lemonade, and serve young coconuts with water. We got a bunch of appetizers to share and some entrees. We got the crispy rice pork salad, this is served with lettuce leaves and herbs and a wedge of lime. I loved this dish - the crispy rice and ground pork combination was balanced and the squeeze of lime juice made for a perfect bite wrapped in a lettuce leaf with mint and cilantro. Next was the Bird & Buffalo Chicken wings, perfectly crispy and tossed in salt and pepper. Good for folks who don't enjoy the spice. We also got the grilled pork spare ribs to share, which folks enjoyed. For entrees we had the drunken noodles with pork, green curry with rice and massaman curry with rice. I could have done with a spicier version of the green curry, but it was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, a solid spot for Thai food - we will be back to sample some of their other dishes too!
