I really enjoyed my meal here. The service was prompt. The food was fresh so were the tortillas. The only reason I would give it a 4 star is because the food was pretty expensive at least for me. The restaurant was not upscale and the food was enjoyable but I dont think worth $38 for 2 plates and tap water. We had the Ilacha and Carne Guisada. :( basically $19 each plate. I dont make Oakland money the minimum wage where I am from it's still $11. If I pay that much($19 or more) it be for some expensive but good piece of steak or Seafood in a nice restaurant.

    Menu as of 7/15/21

Called in my order and it was ready at my specified time. Pick up was seamless and the cashier was super nice. The carne guisada is bommmmb!

One of my favorite local Central American restaurants. Every meal I've had tastes very home made. Staff is super friendly. Place is clean and bathroom have been properly maintained. Every plate provided has been fully served, even the chips and black beans provided as a house appetizer are finger licking good. The menu included items I've never heard of and I'm looking forward to trying.

Yumm, Atol de Elote really good : )

Our first time here, not the greatest service or quality of food. We ordered Atol de elote to drink they brought it to us warm to cold when it should be served hot. My wife and I both had the Guatemalen breakfast which has over medium eggs with black beans and fried plantines. The eggs were plain but no problem just added some hot sauce and it was all good, there beans had no flavor and the plantines you can tell where not fresh they where re-heated. We also ordered a tamala and just was not good at all flavorless. They also got our order wrong the girl forgot to bring us a bread with black beans we ordered for our son. Sorry, we do not recommend we know our countries food and flavors and this place FAILED! Oh and almost forgot the customer service was terrible they never came to check on us and see if we were okay. Boooo! Save your money..

    Bon appetite!

Their fish tacos are perfectly battered, crispy, covered in a bed of cabbage cilantro, crema, & their salsa. a slice of lime to add a lil Zest & wow, I could eat 5 of them after a good workout day. We usually order rice & beans, yucca frita, and occasionally an agua fresca. This time we ordered a strawberry & lemonade, super yum & perfect amount of tart & sweet. The yucca frita was crispy with savory sauce to pair with it. The rice and beans are simple but also so consistently deliciously cooked. The white rice is the best restaurant rice I ever had, I wish I could make it like This at home lolol. Overall, the food here has always been delicious. We order here frequently for the last few years and will continue to do so. Service is always positive, seamless and straightforward. They are not skimpy on the fish. It is deep fried to perfection and tender flaky on the inside. Ordered their Baja Fish Tacos, plantains, and tostones con picadillo. All very flavorful. Service was excellent.

Seating at bar type along wall and additional seating in room at back entrance. Food was freshly made and very tasty. I also tried a side of their beer battered fish. Good but a bit salty. I had ordered the 2 Quesabirria with Consome. Unfortunately, the consome sauce was missing. But that was the least of my problems. I found a large Rubber Band in my taco! Yes a rubber band. I bit into my taco and was chewing on it and had a weird taste so I spit out my food and found a large rubber band. I immediately called the restaurant. I spoke with the owner/manager, and he was extremely apologetic and sincere. Even though I accept his apology and appreciate him trying to make things right. Unfortunately, I am too disgusted and grossed out to see myself returning anytime soon. I appreciate the professionalism of handling this issue and I was hesitant to write this review and post this picture. The attached picture is the taco and a picture of the rubber band. Per my call with the owner/manager he thinks the rubber band came from the bundle of cilantro. Regardless of where the rubber band came from, I still feel completely disgusted and grossed out.

This is a very hole in the wall mom and pop shop that I drive by and if you blink, you'll miss it…read more There's street parking around but if you don't mind crossing the street, there's parking around Walgreens. It's a pretty small spot but well worth it. You can order from the window or you can sit, look at the menu and then wait. The food takes time to come out but that is because everything is made fresh and to order. I cannot begin to describe how worth it the wait was. We got horchata to sip on while we talked and were kept in good company until we got empanadas, yucas and finally, our pupusas. All I can say it, everything was delicious and made with love. I do wish they have more support but they seem to be doing well since they've been at the spot forever. All I can say is I was speechless once the food came out because I was just eating.

I am so happy to have found a delicious authentic pupusa spot!…read more I'm always on the hunt for a good pupusa and most places either don't have enough filling or have a bland salsa (and we all know how important salsa is!) Thankfully, this place is 10/10 on BOTH! They fill up their pupusas and they taste amazingggg. They also offer the option of spicy or non spicy salsa. I personally get the spicy and I love the kick / flavor, it pairs very well with the pupusa. I also order their platano frito with frijol + crema, the staff is super accommodating and nice when I ask for them to slice the banana thinner for a crispier bite. I highly recommend this location! Service is amazing and food is even better.
